When Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu lived at Jagannātha Purī, every year He personally cleansed this temple with His principal devotees. The Guṇḍicā-mārjana chapter of Caitanya-caritāmṛta (Madhya 12) describes this vividly.</p>
