- Because he (Srutadeva) was fully Krsna conscious and always engaged in the service of the Lord, he was completely peaceful in mind and detached from all material attraction
- Both brahmana (Srutadeva) and King (Bahulasva) ultimately achieved the supreme goal of being transferred to the spiritual world
H
- He (Srutadeva) spoke very highly of the Lord and the sages (Narada and others), and he and his wife washed the feet of each one of them. After this, he took the water and sprinkled it over all the members of his family
- He (Srutadeva) was very learned and had no desire other than to be fully situated in Krsna consciousness
S
- Srutadeva said, "Only a devotee can immediately appreciate Your (Krsna) existence within his heart, whereas for a person who has only a bodily concept of life and is engaged in sense gratification, You always remain covered by the curtain of yogamaya"
- Srutadeva thought, "I have fallen into the deep, dark well of householder life and am the most unfortunate person"
T
- The best examples of such devotees (Sevanistha) are Lord Siva, King Indra, King Bahulasva, King Iksvaku, Srutadeva and Pundarika
- The brahmana (Srutadeva) had no desire to get more than what he needed, and thus he was peacefully executing the regulative principles of a brahmana's life, as enjoined in the revealed scriptures
- The instruction we receive from this incident is that King Bahulasva and Srutadeva the brahmana were accepted by the Lord on the same level because both were pure devotees
- The potencies of the Lord are also known to Bali, Amurttaraya, Dilipa, Saubhari, Utanka, Sibi, Devala, Pippalada, Sarasvata, Uddhava, Parasara, Bhurisena, Vibhisana, Hanuman, Sukadeva Gosvami, Arjuna, Arstisena, Vidura, Srutadeva, etc
