- He (Arjuna) was thinking in terms of his own benefit, "Whether I shall go to hell or heaven." That was his contemplation. Therefore he was taught Bhagavad-gita

- Let me now begin speaking on the Bhagavata Purana, which was directly spoken to the great sages by the Personality of Godhead for the benefit of those who are entangled in extreme miseries for the sake of very little pleasure
- Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto Krsna, who is the worshipable Deity for all brahminical men, who is the well-wisher of cows & brahmanas, & who is always benefiting the whole world. I offer my repeated obeisances to the Personality of Godhead
- Let us go on with our work for Krishna for His satisfaction and for the benefit of the whole world. Thank you once more for your great service
- Lord Brahma advised the demigods to accept the son of Tvasta as their spiritual master although he was always inclined toward the benefit of the asuras
- Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, the Manus, all the other demigods in the higher planetary systems, and you prajapatis, who are increasing the population, are working for the benefit of all living entities
- Lord Caitanya consequently wanted this Krsna consciousness movement to be preached on the western side of the world so that people addicted to sense gratification might be benefited by His teachings
- Lord Caitanya preached it (the process of chanting Hare Krsna) so nicely for the benefit of all humanity
- Lord Narayana, along with His partial manifestation Nara, appeared in this world through the daughter of Daksa Maharaja known as Murti. He was begotten by Dharma Maharaja for the benefit of all living entities
- Lord Siva, and Lord Buddha is incarnation of Krsna. So they come for particular purpose, to benefit the whole world. But that is for the time being. That is not permanent. The permanent solution is matam ca vasudevasya
- Lord Siva, the most powerful demigod, second only to Lord Visnu, is self-sufficient. Although he has nothing to aspire for in the material world, for the benefit of those in the material world he is always busily engaged everywhere
- Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who is Krishna Himself in the Form of a devotee preached the cult of the Bhagwat Geeta for all practical purposes and benefit of the humanity at large
- Lord Visnu in the dress of a brahmana appeared as a beggar before Bali and snatched away all of his opulence and his kingdom. He did this for the benefit of Indra, who, having been defeated by Bali Maharaja, was bereft of his kingdom

- Madhvacarya for the second time visited Badarikasrama. While he was passing through Maharashtra, the local king was digging a big lake for the public benefit
- Maharaja Dhrtarastra was placed in that position according to his past deeds; he had already suffered or enjoyed the benefits accrued to him in the past, but due to his good luck
- Maharaja Pariksit inquires about this very important matter for the benefit of all classes of candidates on the path of self-realization and devotional service to the Lord
- Maharaja Pariksit was such a great emperor that all his enemies would come and bow down at his feet and surrender all their wealth for their own benefit

- Narada Muni advises Vyasadeva, "A person who is simply discharging his occupational duty in varna and asrama, however, with no Krsna consciousness, practically does not gain the true benefit of human life"
- Narada visited Kamsa, who was not at all on the level of the demigods, & allowed Kamsa to see him. Kamsa also saw Krsna, what to speak of Narada Muni But unless one sees the Lord or His devotees with purified eyes, one cannot derive the actual benefit
- No motive. That is required. If I think that I shall get some benefit - that is business; that is not bhakti. That is taught by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Nobody knows what is spirit soul, what's this need. Nobody knows. All these educational institutions, they are blind. Andha yathandhair upaniyamanas & the whole system is also blind. If a blind man leads another blind man, what is the benefit? No benefit

- O demigods, these demoniac soldiers have taken birth uselessly. Indeed, they have come from the bodies of their mothers exactly like stool. What is the benefit of killing such enemies from behind while they are running in fear?
- O King, O hero, this human body is meant for universal benefits. If you kill this body untimely, you will kill all the benefits of human life
- O Lord, for those who always engage in Your service, which is more exalted than liberation, all material opulence is insignificant. They do not even care for liberation, not to speak of the benefits of kama, artha and dharma
- O most auspicious one! For our benefit, You enable our worship of You by manifesting Your transcendental form, which You show to us in our meditation
- O protector of the universe, you are engaged by the S P of Godhead as His all-powerful weapon in killing the envious enemies. For the benefit of our entire dynasty, kindly favor this poor brahmana. This will certainly be a favor for all of us
- Of these five (the cows, brahmanas, women, children and old men), the brahmanas and cows are especially mentioned in this verse (SB 3.16.10) because the Lord is always anxious about the benefit of the brahmanas and the cows
- One can be free from all sinful reactions after reaching a place of pilgrimage, but one can have the same benefit at home or at any place simply by chanting the holy name of God. For a pure devotee, there is no need to go to the holy place of pilgrimage

- One who has accepted a bonafide spiritual master and is firmly fixed up in his service, automatically the wife of such a good husband inherits all the benefits of his spiritual advancement. So you are fortunate
- One who has by chance taken his birth in the holy land of Bharatavarsa can render the supreme benefit to others, after he himself has become enlightened by self-realization
- One who has no idea of spiritual life, the mind is the enemy. If one thinks that he is simply the body, his mind will not be working for his benefit
- One who has taken his birth as a human being in the land of India (Bharata-varsa) should make his life successful & work for the benefit of all other people

- One who is actually deriving benefit from hearing the rasa-lila dance surely achieves the transcendental position. He surely loses all traces of lust in his heart
- One who is devoted to the Supreme Personality can attain all the benefits derived from other yogic processes, speculation, rituals, sacrifices, charities, etc. That is the specific benediction of devotional service. BG 1972 purports
- One who is inquisitive to know about the prime benefit of life, for him there is need of accepting a guru
- One who is inquisitive to understand the highest goal and benefit of life must approach a bona fide spiritual master and surrender unto him
- One who is pandita, one who is learned, sees all living entities to be on an equal level. Therefore, because a Vaisnava, or devotee, is learned, he is compassionate (lokanam hita-karinau), and he can work in such a way as to actually benefit humanity
- One who was pious in his past life or in this life, they can be benefited, nice education also. And sri, and beauty. These are the results of pious activities. And just the opposite is due to impious activities
- One who worships the Deity with great devotion but doesn't show any devotion to the devotees of the Lord, or doesn't preach Krishna Consciousness for the benefit of the general public, he is in the lower stage of devotional service
- One whose devotion for Me is adulterated worships Me for some material benefit, just to keep himself in the world of material happiness, culminating in the pleasure of sex life
- One will not derive any benefit by rendering service to such false brahmana-kulas - caste brahmanas
- One's own body and the bodies of his friends and relatives, as well as one's own riches and everything else one has, should be engaged for the benefit of others. This is the mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Only if leaders like Mahatma Gandhi strive to realize the Supreme Absolute Person - not a formless energy - can they truly benefit human society
- Only the devotees of the Lord are bona fide human beings eligible for salvation. Others are vainly struggling for existence without any actual benefit

- Ordinary ritualistic activities constitute contaminated religion, by which one benefits by developing material wealth and prosperity, but uncontaminated, pure religion consists of understanding one's relationship with God and acting accordingly
- Our experimental knowledge can neither verify nor disprove the statements of Srimad-Bhagavatam. We should simply hear these statements from the authorities. If we can appreciate the extensive energy of the Supreme Personality of God, that will benefit us
- Our humble request to you all is that henceforward you please chant Hare Krsna mantra whenever it is possible. You have got enough time, and there is no rules and regulation, there is no fee, and see how much you are benefited
- Our mission is to preach Gita. The best thing is that if we can conjointly preach, we can benefit the whole of India, and the whole of the world. Vinobaji is very respected and they can do a great deal to help our preaching mission
- Our misunderstanding is due to dirty things within our hearts. So first benefit of chanting Hare Krsna maha-mantra will be that all the dirty things within your heart will be cleansed
- Our only appeal is that all book sellers, all publishers, may come forward and cooperate with us and distribute the transcendental literature in the unique form. They will find something sublime, and we'll be benefited

- People are very anxious for peace in the world, but there are so many unwanted children born without the benefit of the garbhadhana ceremony, just like the demons (Hiranyakasipu and Hiranyaksa) born from Diti
- People do not know anything, and as a result they can be bluffed and cheated by anyone. Therefore now they should learn from this Krsna consciousness movement what Vedanta is and what the explanation of Vedanta-sutra is. Then they will be benefited
- People in general are ignorant and addicted to fruitive activities. Without disturbing their minds, the karma-yogi can benefit them by explaining the truth about man's eternal position as Lord Krsna's servant
- People may say, "A karmi is dying and bhakta is dying. What is the benefit?" No. He's not dying, but he is dying or giving up this body for living forever. And the nondevotees, he is dying to accept another body. That is the difference
- People should give up the company of so-called yogis, jnanis, karmis and philanthropists because their association can benefit no one
- People want to be satisfied with little benefit, with little benefit. No, that is not our mission. We want the supreme benefit

- Philosophy is the highest knowledge, but even higher than philosophy is the practice of philosophy. So if your students can be enticed to practice Krishna philosophy, they will feel the practical benefit
- Pious persons like you (Dadhici, the son of Atharva), whose activities are praiseworthy, are very kind and affectionate to people in general. What can't such pious souls give for the benefit of others? They can give everything, including their bodies
- Please set the example of our ideal householder life in Krsna Consciousness. This will be very highly appreciated by all persons who will come in your contact and you will also be benefited
- Preach this Bhagavad-gita as it is. People will be benefited. You'll be benefited. Don't make unnecessary interpretation, misguide others and spoil your own life. That is very unfortunate. What is the difficulty to accept Bhagavad-gita?
- Preaching cannot be stopped. You do small scale or big scale - the benefit will be sravanam kirtanam
- Previously, all the great kings and emperors expanded their kingdoms with a regard for the welfare of the people in general. Indeed, while engaged in such activities for the benefit of the general public, eminent men sometimes even sacrificed their lives
- Preya means immediate benefit, and sreya means ultimate benefit. So those who are interested in the ultimate benefit go back to home, back to Godhead
- Preyas means immediate. Just like we eat something which I may not digest, or it may have some bad effect later on. But people are interested - the immediate benefit, without calculation of future benefit

- Questions by exalted persons put before the Supreme Personality of Godhead or His devotees are meant for the benefit of the general people
- Questions put by a saintly person to another saintly person about the Personality of Godhead or about the ultimate goal of life surcharge everything spiritually. Whoever takes advantage of such discussions is benefited both in this life and in the next

- Sanat-kumara, one of the Kumaras, informed Prthu Maharaja that his meeting with the Kumaras benefited not only Maharaja Prthu but the Kumaras as well
- Sanatana advised the jailkeeper to gladly accept the five thousand coins from him and let him go because by accepting the money he would not only be materially benefited but would also be acting very righteously by freeing Sanatana for spiritual purposes
- Sanatana-dharma will teach them about the real purpose of life, and they will benefit by its propagation
- Sankara, svayam sankara, he is incarnation of Lord Siva, and Lord Buddha is incarnation of Krsna. So they come for particular purpose, to benefit the whole world. But that is for the time being. That is not permanent
- Satyam, truthfulness, means that facts should be presented as they are for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented. BG 1972 purports

- Similarly, all the brahmanas in his kingdom were very satisfied with King Gaya's munificent charities. Consequently the brahmanas contributed a sixth of their pious activities for King Gaya's benefit in the next life
- Simply by his changing the rubber stamp, "I am Hindu," "I am Muslim," "I am Christian," that does not make any benefit. Therefore our Movement is Krsna consciousness. We don't talk of any religion. The consciousness should be changed
- Since Siva, or Rudra, is himself the controller of egotism, he indirectly wants to be purified by the mercy of the Lord so that his real egotism can be awakened. Of course, Rudra is always spiritually awake, but for our benefit he is praying in this way
- Since the demigods resort to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, why should the worshipers of the demigods not approach the Supreme Lord for whatever benefits they desire
- Since the opportunity of human life is temporary, what benefit can these material opulences give to a sensible man who has understood himself to be eternal?
- So every human being is expected to receive this knowledge directly from Krsna. Don't interpret wrong way according to your whims. Take it as it is and be benefited
- So far the sign is concerned, why should we make such an expenditure of so many thousands of dollars for a sign . . . what benefit shall we derive?
- So if you try to understand Bhagavad-gita as it is, then we get some benefit. Not some benefit - the ultimate benefit. What is the purpose of Bhagavad-gita? Krsna has come. Krsna's instructing Arjuna. Aiming at Arjuna, He's instructing the whole world

- So it is a culture, Vedic culture, which, if it is spread all over the world, people will be benefited because at the present moment people do not know what is the treasure house of spiritual culture. They do not know. They have got some vague idea
- So on the occasion of the Lord's 463rd advent day, I beg to suggest that in the guru-mandala some such preaching method as was adopted by Lord Caitanya, may also be adopted for the benefit of the general people
- So our method is very simple. We don't manufacture any new method. Why new method? The old method is very perfect, authorized, accepted by great acaryas. And they are, actually, are benefited
- So sadhu is suhrdam sarva-bhutanam. Why he should allow animal killing? They are also living entities, but for their benefit, the so-called sadhu says, "The animal has no soul." What is this nonsense?
- So the simple truth is, you be, become Krsna conscious, and your life is successful. Not only your life is successful, if you preach in your family, in your society, in your community or internationally, they also become benefited
- Some of them (rules and regulations) are very important and prominent, and he (Sanatana Gosvami) will now mention these very important items for our benefit
- Somehow or other if someone puts himself open in the sun rays, he is sure to get the requisite benefit both by heat and by ultraviolet rays. Therefore, the conclusion is that the Lord (Krsna) is never partial
- Somehow or other we are now engaged in that service. We may conclude that even as dogs we must take shelter of a Vaisnava. The benefit will be the same as that which accrues to an advanced devotee under a Vaisnava’s care
- Sometimes great personalities put themselves in that position and inquire from a higher authority because they are always thinking of the benefit of others
- Sometimes it happens that the benefits of the taxes fall like rains on stone-hearted men in the state who are unable to utilize the money properly and who squander it for sense gratification
- Sometimes it is seen that great personalities meet with fallen souls, not for any personal interest but for the benefit of those souls. In the creation of the Lord there are different kinds of living creatures
- Sometimes it is very risky to give great philosophical instructions to ordinary people, but Caitanya , for the benefit of the fallen souls of Kali-yuga, has given us a very nice instrument, the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra

- Sometimes they (mudhas) spend sleepless days & nights for fruitive gain, & although they may have ulcers or indigestion, they are satisfied with practically no food; they are simply absorbed in working hard for the benefit of illusory masters. BG 1972 p
- Sometimes they take the spiritual shelter, so-called, for getting some benefit out of it so that his political movement may be increased or enhanced
- Sometimes we see pious men earn money with great hardship and then spend the money for some pious cause by opening public charities, schools and hospitals. Whether one earns money for himself or for the public benefit, he is called a karma-nistha
- Sometimes, because of our bad luck, this movement is stopped, but Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His servants again start the movement for the benefit of the entire world or, indeed, the entire universe
- Spiritual master means you must surrender to him. If you talk foolish, then you will not be benefited. You must submissively hear and accept whatever he says
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu descended as an incarnation for the benefit of the entire world. Thus He knew the mind of Vallabha Bhatta very well
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu recommends that if you chant Hare Krsna maha-mantra, then the first installment of benefit is ceto-darpana-marjanam
- Sri Pandita Haridasa spoke very sweetly, his endeavors were very pleasing, he was always patient, he respected everyone, he always worked for everyone's benefit, his mind was free of duplicity, and he was completely devoid of all malicious activities
- Sri Saunaka said: Although He is unborn, the Supreme Personality of Godhead took birth as Kapila Muni by His internal potency. He descended to disseminate transcendental knowledge for the benefit of the whole human race
- Srila Narottama dasa Thakura, a great acarya in the preceptorial line of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, has said for our benefit that one can perfectly see the dhamas only when one completely gives up the mentality of lording it over material nature

- Those who are sane men, they are appreciating that here is a movement actually for the benefit... It is not sentimental, cheating, bluffing, economic development
- Those with a background of pious life are eligible to receive life's supreme benefit, and to bestow this benefit, the Supreme Personality of Godhead sends His representative to impart His mercy
- Through taxation, such men exploit the citizens as much as possible, & in this way they devour the citizens of the state instead of benefiting them. We therefore cannot expect a government to be efficient if it is headed by such unclean mlecchas & yavanas
- To attain freedom from material life, one must take to Krsna consciousness. Otherwise, if one very busily engages in the so-called advancement of science, what benefit will he derive?
- To benefit all human society, not only in this life but in the next, the great seers and sages have prescribed various methods conducive to the prosperity of the people in general
- To benefit all living beings in all the varied planets and to increase the power of those elephants and of the demigods, the Lord manifests Himself on top of that mountain in a spiritual body, uncontaminated by the modes of material nature

- You are all exalted commanders of the entire universe. I am your disciple and must take many lessons from you. Therefore I cannot refuse you. I must agree for my own benefit
