- Before me, many swamis, yogis, they came to the Western countries, and most of them spoke on Bhagavad-gita, but not a single person was a devotee of Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita is nondifferent from Krsna
- Even Sankaracarya, in his commentary on the Bhagavad-gita, has accepted Narayana as the transcendental Personality of Godhead who appeared as Krsna, the son of Devaki and Vasudeva
A
- A brahmana is not created by birth, but by education, practice and knowledge. It is not a question of birth, but quality, as pointed out by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita - BG 4.13
- A brahmana must be fully conversant with the Vedic conclusion, which is described in Bhagavad-gita. Vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah. The Vedic conclusion - the ultimate understanding, or Vedanta understanding - is knowledge of Krsna
- A few persons in the bank, like the manager or the cashier or the accountant, they know everything confidential. Not the clerks or the customers - no. So Krsna concludes BG with these words, guhya guhyatamam. This knowledge is very confidential
- A guru is necessary. In the Bhagavad-gita, when Krsna and Arjuna were talking as friends, there was no conclusion. So Arjuna decided to accept Krsna as his guru
- A patient who is suffering from a disorder of the bowels due to overindulgence in milk products is cured by another milk product, namely curds. The materially absorbed conditioned soul can be cured by KC as set forth here in the Gita (4.24). BG 1972 pur
- A person is eligible to return home, back to Godhead, if he perfectly understands Krsna and His appearance and disappearance. This is verified by Krsna Himself in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so ‘rjuna (BG 4.9)
- A pious man who is simply eager to know the science of Krsna also approaches the Supreme Lord. Out of these four classes of men, the last is praised by Krsna Himself in the Bhagavad-gita
- A small child, he's clapping. Why? "Hey Krsna." So anyway, everyone is remembering always Krsna. Keeping Krsna consciousness. Even a child here is the highest yogi. It is not our boastfulness. It is stated in authorized scripture like Bhagavad-gita
- A statement was made by Lord Krsna in Bhagavad-gita. Sa kaleneha mahata yogo nastah: "In course of time the yoga system as stated in Bhagavad-gita was lost." It was coming in parampara, in disciplic succession, but due to the passage of time it was lost
- Above and beyond this material nature there is a superior spiritual nature, as Sri Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita - 7.4-5
- According to Bhagavad-gita this atheistic conclusion is false. In the verse under discussion it is stated that Krsna is the original cause of the material manifestation
- According to Bhagavad-gita, only a devotee of Krsna, a person who is intimately related with Krsna, he can understand what is Bhagavad-gita
- According to Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Rupa Gosvami in his Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, Narada Muni in the Narada Pancaratra and Bhagavan Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita, a pure devotee never wants anything from the Lord
- According to Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.34): Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me. This process is very simple
- According to the Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.15): I (Krsna) am seated in everyone’s heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed I am the compiler of the Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas
- Actually Bhagavan, this word is applicable to Krsna. Therefore in the Bhagavad-gita you will find, whenever Krsna is speaking, Vyasadeva has written, sri bhagavan uvaca. Real Bhagavan is Krsna. Krsnas tu bhagavan svayam - SB 1.3.28
- Actually this movement was started by Krsna Himself in the Battlefield of Kuruksetra. At least five thousand years ago the movement was presented by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita
- Actually this process of Krsna consciousness or self-realization is not very difficult. Krsna taught it to Arjuna in Bhagavad-gita, and if we understand Bhagavad-gita just as Arjuna did, we will have no problem in coming to the perfectional state
- Actually, one who preaches the message of the Gita is very dear to Krsna, as is confirmed in the Gita itself. Such a preacher is factually a brahmana and thus by feeding him one feeds the Supreme Lord directly
- After Arjuna had understood the spirit of the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita, the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, never advised him to give up his seemingly ordinary duties. On the contrary, Arjuna fought the battle with even greater energy
- After hearing Bhagavad-gita from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Arjuna accepted Krsna as Param Brahma, the Supreme Brahman. BG 1972 Introduction
- After hearing Bhagavad-gita from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Arjuna dovetailed his mind with Krsna's desire. This is called oneness. This oneness, however, did not cause Arjuna and Krsna to lose their individualities
- After one has got this unflinching faith, that "Simply by serving Lord Krsna, all religious activities or all pious activities are done," that faith is the last word of Bhagavad-gita
- After understanding Bhagavad-gita from Krsna, Arjuna confirms this in the following words: I now fully understand that You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Absolute Truth, and that You are the refuge of everything. BG 1972 purports
- Agham dhunvanti: All reactions to sinful activities are cancelled when one surrenders to Krsna. In Bhagavad-gita Lord Krsna Himself advises personal surrender to Him - BG 18.66
- Akrura continued, "There is no question of Your being conditioned or liberated. You (Krsna and Balarama) are ever liberated in any condition of life. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, only fools and rascals consider You an ordinary man"
- Akrura continued, "Throughout the Vedic literature it is declared that You (Krsna) are the dearmost friend of every living entity. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita: suhrdam sarva-bhutanam (BG 5.29)"
- Akrura thought, "As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, these activities of Krsna - His protecting the devotees and killing the demons, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita - are always good for men to hear and narrate"
- All students of Lord Krsna are mentioned here (in BG 4.15) as past liberated persons, engaged in the discharge of duties allotted by Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- All the symptoms of the Supreme Truth in full are present in the person of Lord Sri Krsna, and in the Bhagavad-gita the Lord emphatically declares that there is no truth greater than or equal to Himself
- Although Krsna demands our surrender in the Bhagavad-gita, the greatest scholar and so-called philosopher in modern India has protested that it is "not to Krsna" that we have to surrender. Therefore, he is envious
- Although Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and is therefore not partial to anyone, it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that He has special attraction for a devotee who worships His name in love and affection
- Another feature of Bhagavad-gita is that the actual truth is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Absolute Truth is realized in three features-impersonal Brahman, localized Paramatma, and the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- Any person, if he is fortunate enough to hear these teachings (of Bhagavad-gita) from Krsna or from His bona fide spiritual representative, is sure to become a liberated person and get out of the darkness of ignorance. BG 1972 purports
- Anyone who is born in India should attempt to broadcast the message of Bhagavad-gita and Krsna. That is the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Anyone who is preaching the confidential message of the Gita to the people in general is so dear to Krsna that no one can be equal with him in human society
- Anyone who preaches Bhagavad-gita is very dear to Krsna
- Anyone who understands this fact, that Krsna is not different from this sound Krsna, Krsna is not different from this Bhagavad-gita, Krsna is not different from anything which is connected with Krsna... These things are to be understood
- Apart from Bhagavad-gita, which is spoken by Krsna, we can read these other books. In this way, one can learn the art of becoming a sadhu
- Arjuna accepts Sri Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and any commentary on the Gita following in the footsteps of Arjuna is real devotional service to the cause of this great science. BG 1972 purports
- Arjuna is exampling himself that he's accepting Krsna as the spiritual master, teacher. And then Krsna began to teach the Bhagavad-gita, and he changed his decision, and he was freed from all anxieties. This is spiritual life
- Arjuna learned Bhagavad-gita directly from Krsna. Therefore Arjuna is a mahajana. So you should learn from Arjuna
- Arjuna says that, "Krsna, no more friendly talking. I agree to become Your disciple." So when he agreed to become disciple of Krsna, then He explained Bhagavad-gita
- Arjuna summarized the purpose of the Bhagavad-gita by his realization of Lord Sri Krsna and thus said, "My dear Lord, You are the Supreme Absolute Truth, the Original Person in the eternal form of bliss and knowledge, and this is confirmed by Narada
- Arjuna understood Bhagavad-gita from Krsna, and if we wish to understand it, we have to understand it from Arjuna, not from any other source
- Arjuna was a ksatriya, and this conduct was not expected from him (to lament unnecessarily like a sudra). Lord Krsna, however, can dissipate the lamentation of the ignorant man, and for this purpose the Bhagavad-gita was sung by Him. BG 1972 purports
- Arjuna was a most intimate friend of Sri Krsna, and thus Sri Krsna explained to him the essence of all scriptures, in the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita
- Aryan means "advanced." Formerly, those who claimed to be Aryans had to be devotees of the Lord. For instance, in Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.2) Krsna chastised Arjuna by saying that he was speaking like a non-Aryan
- As confirmed by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita (9.30), bhajate mam ananya-bhak sadhur eva sa mantavyah: anyone fully attached to Krsna is a sadhu
- As confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (18.61), the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna is the all-pervading omnipresent Supersoul. Therefore one who is a yogi can worship only Him because He is the substance and not illusion
- As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (8.22), He (Krsna) can be approached only by unalloyed devotional service and not by the processes of jnana (philosophy), yoga (mysticism) or karma (fruitive work)
- As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, the cause of the impersonal Brahman is Lord Krsna. This Brahman effulgence is likened to the sunshine, which emanates from the sun globe. Therefore, impersonal Brahman is not the ultimate cause
- As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, the topmost yoga is to think always of Lord Krsna within the heart, and the topmost sacrifice is to perform the sankirtana-yajna
- As declared in Bhagavad-gita, the Lord appears in the mortal world to execute His much-needed mission of killing the miscreants and giving protection to the suffering faithful
- As far as Arjuna is concerned, he says that his illusion is over. This means that Arjuna no longer thinks of Krsna as a mere human being, as a friend of his, but as the source of everything. BG 1972 purports
- As far as the third-class person in Krsna consciousness is concerned, although he has faith in the conviction that devotional service to Krsna is very good, he has no knowledge of Krsna through the scriptures like Srimad-Bhagavatam and BG. BG 1972 pur
- As far as those who are already perfect are concerned, Lord Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9), tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so ’rjuna: After giving up this material body, such a devotee comes to Me
- As for our general understanding, Caitanya introduced the philosophy of acintya-bhedabheda - simultaneously one with & different from the Lord. That is explained by Krsna in BG (15.7): mamaivamso. jiva-bhutahthe - living entities are part & parcel of God
- As in the Bhagavad-gita, Tenth Chapter, Lord Krsna has summarized the whole text in four verses, namely, aham sarvasya prabhavah (BG 10.8), etc., so the complete Srimad-Bhagavatam has also been summarized in four verses, as aham evasam evagre, etc
- As indicated in Bhagavad-gita, whenever we find someone extraordinary preaching the bhakti cult, we should know that he is especially empowered by Lord Visnu, or Lord Krsna
- As is commanded in the Bhagavad-gita by Sri Krsna, the thoughtful give up the reaction of work, being situated on the level of pure consciousness
- As it is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, full knowledge means knowing Krsna to be the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- As it is mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita, the demigods cannot fulfill the desires of their worshipers without the sanction of Narayana, or Krsna
- As it is said in the Bhagavad-gita, foolish persons, after exhausting the results of their pious activities in the heavenly kingdom, come back again to this lower planetary system and then again try to go to the higher planetary system
- As it is said in the Bhagavad-gita, Lord Krsna has no specific duty to perform in this world, and yet He acts just like an ordinary man living an ideal life within this material world
- As it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, all the Vedic literatures are glorifying the greatness of Lord Sri Krsna. Here it is confirmed in the Bhagavatam also
- As it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, Krsna's expansion is situated in everyone's heart as the Supersoul. Similarly, instead of expanding Himself as the Supersoul, He expanded Himself as a portion of calves and cowherd boys for one continuous year
- As Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, "I know everything, but no one knows Me." This is the difference between the Supreme Lord and an ordinary living being
- As Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata (BG 4.7). Of course this takes many years, but the principle is there
- As Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9), One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna
- As Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, "After many, many births, the wise philosopher surrenders unto Me"
- As Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita: "Amongst vibrations, I am the syllable om." (BG 9.17) This means that omkara is nondifferent from Krsna
- As Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita: To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me
- As Lord Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (15.7), mamaivamso jiva-loke jiva-bhutah sanatanah: The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts
- As Lord Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita, when He descends on earth, He has two types of business - to give protection to the faithful and annihilate the demons
- As Lord Sri Krsna has said in Bhagavad-gita, performance of ritualistic ceremonies is not actually religion. The real path of religion is to surrender at the lotus feet of the Lord
- As one makes progress in Krsna's service, however, he will find it pleasing. This is indicated by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita: yat tad agre visam iva, pariname 'mrtopamam, atma-buddhi-prasada-jam - BG 18.37
- As soon as Krsna is within your heart so when you read Bhagavad-gita or Krsna book with little seriousness, then Krsna understands, "Now he is serious to understand me." You haven't got to search out Krsna, He's already within you
- As stated in Bhagavad-gita, Krsna is the real friend of every living entity, and we have to revive our friendship with Him. The method for reviving this friendship is the process of Krsna consciousness
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, anyone who reaches the highest planet, the abode of Krsna, or even the Vaikuntha planets, never has to come down again to this miserable material condition of life
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, His (The Lord's) hands and legs are everywhere, for He is all-pervasive. The hands, legs, ears & eyes of all living entities are acting and moving by the direction of the Supersoul sitting within the living entity's heart
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, one has to think of Krsna always, one has to render loving service to Krsna always, and one always has to worship and bow down before Krsna. By this process only can one enter into the kingdom of God, without any doubt
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the asuras are given a chance to forget Krsna more and more, birth after birth. Thus they make their appearance in a family of asuras and continue this process, being kept in bewilderment about Krsna
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, to regulate those who are very much addicted to different kinds of sense gratification, the worship of demigods is sometimes recommended
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, whenever there are discrepancies in the discharge of human occupational duties, He (Krsna) descends
- As the BG was authoritatively discussed between Lord Krsna and Arjuna (the Lord and the devotee respectively), similarly SB, which is the postgraduate study of the BG, can also be discussed between the scholars and devotees like Sukadeva and Pariksit
- As the Lord (Krsna) says in BG 4.9: One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna
- As the Lord (Krsna) says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna
- As the Lord advises in the Bhagavad-gita, "Whatever you do, do it for Me; whatever you eat, first offer it to Me; whatever charity you want to give, first give it to Me; and whatever austerities and penances you want to perform, perform them for Me"
- At a further stage we can see Krsna as the life force within everything, as He indicates in Bhagavad-gita: I am the original fragrance of the earth, & I am the light in fire. I am the life of all that lives, and I am the penances of all ascetics - BG 7.9
- At least this is the proof that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead because there is no other parallel book like this Bhagavad-gita
- At the end of Bhagavad-gita (18.66) Sri Krsna advises Arjuna: "Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear." This is the most confidential part of knowledge
- At the end of the Sixth Chapter the Lord clearly said that of all yogis, one who always thinks of Krsna within himself is considered the most perfect
- At the present moment Krsna, in the BG, wanted: sarva-dharman parityajya. Krsna wanted Arjuna - Arjuna means everyone - that they should surrender to Krsna and be engaged in the service of Krsna. So when we speak of Krsna, means God, the SPG
- At the very beginning of Bhagavad-gita Krsna speaks sharply to Arjuna by telling him that although he speaks like a learned man, he is actually fool number one
- Aurobindo or Dr. Radhakrishnan, they have written Bhagavad-gita, annotation, so many others also, but Krsna is missing. They're faulty. Krsna is missing. Through Bhagavad-gita, they want to make the society Krsna-less
B
- Because he is more like an animal, a materialist suffers more. The devotee, on the other hand, takes Krsna's advice in Bhagavad-gita - 2.14
- Because these spiritual sparks are all Krsna's parts and parcels, as the Lord states in the Bhagavad-gita (mamaivamsah), they (the conditioned souls) can revive their original position by getting free from material contact. This is pure understanding
- BG confirms the purpose of Vedic knowledge is to find Krsna. Brahma-samhita says it is very difficult to find Krsna, the S.P. of Godhead, by systematic reading of the Vedic literature. But He is very easily available through the mercy of a pure devotee
- Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.19) Krsna tells Arjuna: After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare
- Bhagavad-gita and all the Vedic literatures fully explain that the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, appears in human society as an ordinary human being but acts very uncommonly for the well-being of the entire world
- Bhagavad-gita and Krsna are never old. Although Krsna is the most ancient one, the oldest of all, He always remains like a young boy in His teens. He never appears older than twenty
- Bhagavad-gita and Krsna, there is no difference. Bhagavad-gita is also Krsna. Otherwise why this book is worshiped since so, for so long time, since five thousand years, unless the Bhagavad-gita is Krsna?
- Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam are sound incarnations of Krsna. The Srimad-Bhagavatam is also the literary incarnation of Krsna, and it is the fruit of Vedic knowledge
- Bhagavad-gita begins with the spiritual instruction that one is not the body but is within the body. This consciousness can be possible only if one chants the holy name of Krsna, the Hare Krsna maha-mantra & always keeps association of devotees
- Bhagavad-gita declares the Supreme Lord is responsive in proportion to the devotional service rendered by the devotee. Akrura thought that Krsna was like the desire tree in the heavenly planets, which gives fruit according to the desire of the worshiper
- Bhagavad-gita has to be accepted as it is, from the disciplic succession, and it is described herein (BG 4.1) that the Lord spoke to the sun-god, the sun-god spoke to his son Manu, and Manu spoke to his son Iksvaku. BG 1972 purports
- Bhagavad-gita is a well-read book all over the world. In any country you will find edition of Bhagavad-gita by the language of the country. So in this Bhagavad-gita we find that Krsna is giving instruction about what is dharma, religion
- Bhagavad-gita is krsna-katha spoken directly by Krsna, and Srimad-Bhagavatam is also krsna-katha because everything described in the Bhagavatam is in relationship with Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita is not going to make any topsy-turvy of the social order or spiritual order. No. It should be standardized according to the authority. And the best authority is Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita is not meant for anyone else except the devotee. Bhagavan Sri Krsna could explain this Bhagavad-gita to the jnanis, to the yogis, to the karmis. But why He selected Arjuna?
- Bhagavad-gita is the preliminary study of the Bhagavatam. And Srimad-Bhagavatam is the summum bonum of life, Lord Sri Krsna personified. We must therefore accept Srimad-Bhagavatam as the direct representation of Lord Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita is to be accepted as a revealed scripture spoken by the Absolute Truth Himself when He descended to this planet
- Bhagavad-gita minus Krsna. This is going on. Whole nonsense
- Bhagavad-gita says that Krsna first instructed Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god (imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam (BG 4.1)). Therefore the sun is not vacant. It is inhabited by living entities, and the predominating deity is Vairaja, or Vivasvan
- Bhagavad-Gita says, "Devotees of the Personality of Godhead transcend all the reactions of the three modes of material nature and are situated on the transcendental platform of Brahman realization"
- Bhagavad-gita should be explained to persons who are ready to accept Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is a subject matter for the devotees only and not for philosophical speculators. BG 1972 purports
- Bhagavad-gita was authoritatively discussed between Lord Krsna and Arjuna
- Bhagavad-gita was imparted to the sun god and to Arjuna by Krsna, but nowhere is it mentioned that Bhagavad-gita was imparted to Krsna. Why? Complete knowledge means that He knows everything that is to be known. This is an attribute of God alone
- Bhagavad-gita was spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and it was recorded by His incarnation, Vyasadeva. So it is transcendental literature
- Bhagavad-gita was spoken directly by the Supreme Lord, and Arjuna accepted Krsna as guru, or spiritual master. Similarly, we should accept only Krsna as the supreme spiritual master
- Bhagavad-gita, which is direct krsna-katha, gives humanity the elementary lesson that the body is perishable and that the consciousness which is spread throughout the body is imperishable
- Both the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam are transcendental topics of Lord Krsna
- Brahma said, "As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, simply by understanding Your (Krsna's) constitutional position, appearance and disappearance, one can be immediately elevated to the spiritual kingdom after quitting this present body"
- Brahma said, "If one understands You through Your personal teachings, as stated in the BG, or through Your pure devotees, as stated in SB - if one realizes that You are the ultimate goal of understanding - he need no longer fear this material existence"
- Brahma said, "In the Bhagavad-gita also it is stated that You are the source of the Brahman effulgence. No one should conclude that Your body is like an ordinary material body. Your body is aksara, indestructible"
- Brahma said, "It is said in the Bhagavad-gita, anyone who can understand a little of the transcendental pastimes, appearance & disappearance of the Lord becomes immediately eligible to enter into the kingdom of God after quitting the material body"
- Brahma said, "My dear Lord Krsna, those who deride You, claiming that You have a material body like an ordinary man, are described in the Bhagavad-gita as demoniac and less intelligent.
- Brahma said, "The best process for understanding You is to submissively give up the speculative process and try to hear about You, either from Yourself as You have given statements in the BG and many similar Vedic scriptures, or from a realized devotee"
- Brahma said, "There are many so-called meditators who do not know that You are the Supreme Soul. As stated in the BG, You are the Supreme Soul present in everyone’s heart. Therefore there is no necessity of one’s meditating on something beyond You"
- Brahma said, "You (Krsna) state in the Bhagavad-gita that You Yourself, by Your partial representation as the Supersoul, have entered into this material cosmic manifestation"
- Brahma said, "Your (Krsna's) teachings in the Bhagavad-gita are that one should give up all other processes of self-realization and simply surrender unto You, for that is complete"
- Brahman realization means Krsna's partial realization. Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, brahmano 'ham pratistha: "The Brahman, the all-pervading Brahman, impersonal Brahman, is situated in Me." That's a fact
- Brahmananda Bharati drew Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya’s attention because he wanted him to judge the argument. He then stated that Brahman, the Supreme Lord, is all-pervading. This is confirmed by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita - BG 13.3
- By accepting the chain of birth and death, the soul accepts a diseased condition. The soul is not subject to birth, death or disease because it is pure spirit. In BG Krsna says that a soul has no birth - na jayate and that it has no death - mriyate
- By His (Krsna's) impersonal feature He is present as impersonal Brahman effulgence. You will find in the Bhagavad-gita also, brahmano aham pratistha - I am the source of Brahman effulgence
- By surrendering unto Krsna we come immediately under His protection and are relieved of all miseries. This is validated by all scriptures. At the end of Bhagavad-gita, Sri Krsna says: sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja . . . - BG. 18.66
- By the association of devotees he (the conditioned soul) may be able to understand that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya: (BG 7.7) There is no truth superior to Me
- By the calculation it is forty millions of years ago. Now who will believe that, that Krsna spoke this Bhagavad-gita forty millions of years ago to the sun-god?
C
- Caitanya is talking on the position; He is Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is asking, demanding, "You rascal, give up everything. Just surrender to Me. Then you'll be happy." This is the last instruction of Bhagavad-gita
- Compassionately, he (Arjuna) said to Krsna, "My dear Krsna, I don't wish to fight. Let my cousin brothers enjoy the kingdom. I cannot kill them in this fight." This is the subject matter of Bhagavad-gita
D
- Despite the transcendental qualities of Lord Krsna's body, its full bliss and knowledge, there are many so-called scholars and commentators of Bhagavad-gita who deride Krsna as an ordinary man
- Despite the transcendental qualities of Lord Krsna's body, its full bliss and knowledge, there are many so-called scholars and commentators of Bhagavad-gita who deride Krsna as an ordinary man. BG 1972 purports
- Devala: A great authority like Narada Muni and Vyasadeva. His good name is on the list of authorities mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita when Arjuna acknowledged Lord Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Devotional service to Krsna, in full consciousness, is the most confidential part of knowledge, and this is the essence of the whole Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 purports
- Did Krsna mean that "I leave Bhagavad-gita ambiguous and some learned scholar will come. He will explain"? What is this nonsense? Everything is clear
- Do not waste your time with this study of monkeys. What will you learn by this? Better to hear from Lord Krishna Himself in Bhagavad-gita than to waste your time in this way
- Don't deviate from the instruction of Krsna. Very directly, bhagavan uvaca, directly Bhagavan is speaking. You take advantage of it. There is solution of all problems of the world if you refer to Bhagavad-gita
- Due to this benediction from His teacher, Lord Krsna's Bhagavad-gita is ever-increasingly fresh and is renowned not only within this universe but in other planets and other universes also

- Each word in this verse is very important. Prinanti hy atha mam dhirah. Dhira means very intelligent, not crazy; just the opposite of crazy. Dhira. So Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita who is dhira. There are many places. Dhiras tatra na muhyati
- Eight thousand years ago the Lord was Himself speaking the Bhagavad Gita, it was destroyed at that time. Why? The disciplic succession was destroyed
- Elsewhere in the gita, Sri Krsna points out to Arjuna that out of many men few strive for perfection, and out of those who strive for perfection, only a few succeed. So Arjuna is inquiring after the vast number of failures

- Even according to historical references, Krsna's activities are most uncommon. Krsna has affirmed, "I am God," and He has acted accordingly
- Even big scholars cannot understand Krsna, yet they dare comment on the Bhagavad-gita. Reading the Bhagavad-gita means understanding Krsna, yet we actually see many scholars making blunders in trying to understand Krsna
- Even if you have got some desire within yourself, so the Bhagavad-gita says, in spite of having that desire, you can worship Krsna and ask so that in future your desires will be desireless
- Even Sankaracarya, who is a impersonalist, he has accepted Lord Krsna as the supreme Narayana. In his comment on Bhagavad-gita he says, narayanah parah avyaktat: "Narayana is beyond this material creation."
- Even so-called followers of Gita, they will be caught up by this movement as rascals. Because the real purpose of Gita they do not know. Real purpose of Gita is to know Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Even that Krsna is not present at the moment, but still we can hear His instructions what He gave. In the Bhagavad-gita, many instructions He left
- Even the most erudite scholars write on Bhagavad-gita very inaccurately. Because they are envious of Krsna, their commentaries are useless. BG 1972 purports
- Even though you think that Krsna is not present, but He is present by His words, Bhagavad-gita. He is absolute. Krsna the person, and Krsna's words, Bhagavad-gita, there is no difference

- Everything is perfectly being done by nature. Nature is appointed by Krsna. Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, mayadhyaksena prakrtih suyate sa-caracaram: "Under My control." So prakrti will work very nicely provided you are also nice, Krsna conscious
F

- Follow the footsteps of the sages of Naimisaranya and accept Sri Suta Gosvami or his bona fide representative as the captain of the ship. The ship is the message of Lord Sri Krsna in the shape of Bhagavad-gita or the Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Foolish people are unaware of the miserable conditions of material life. Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (13.9), janma-mrtyu jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam
- Foolish people say that bhakti is meant for ajnanis, unintelligent people, but this is not the case. In Bhagavad-gita Krsna indicates that after many births, the jnani, the man in knowledge, surrenders unto Him
- Footsteps of the teacher of Bhagavad gita
- For example, in the Bhagavad-gita, although Krsna was speaking as the supreme authority, He still mentioned and quoted Vedanta-sutra as authority

- From the Bhagavad-gita we understand that because Krsna has a sac-cid-ananda body, He did not forget instructing the sun-god about the Bhagavad-gita millions of years ago
- From the Bhagavad-gita we understand that even a person who is not up to the standard of pious activities but who is absolutely engaged in devotional service is to be considered well situated on the path of spiritual perfection
- From the Seventh Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita we understand that the five gross elements - earth, water, fire, air and sky - plus the subtle elements - mind, intelligence and false ego - are the eight separated energies of the Supreme Lord
- From the Seventh Chapter to the end of the Twelfth Chapter (of BG), Sri Krsna in detail reveals the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Now, the Lord Himself is further enlightening Arjuna. BG 1972 purports

- Go on with Krsna consciousness. Don't be disappointed or hopeless, even there is some trouble. That is encouraged by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita
- God comes as Krsna or Kapiladeva and says, "Here I am. See My features. I am a person. I play the flute and enjoy Myself in Vrndavana. Why can't you see Me?" Thus God comes, explains Himself and leaves behind His instruction, Bhagavad-gita
- God is eternal, and His instructions and followers are also eternal. In Bhagavad-gita (4.1) Krsna tells Arjuna that millions of years ago He spoke Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god
- God is expanded everyone. Lord Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, maya tatam idam sarvam avyakta-murtina (BG 9.4): I am spread everywhere, all-pervading, in My impersonal feature
- God is infallible, and in Bhagavad-gita He is addressed as Acyuta, which means, "He who never falls down." This is indicated because in Bhagavad-gita Arjuna had fallen into delusion but Krsna had not
- God is infallible, and in the Bhagavad-gita He is addressed as Acyuta, which means "He who never falls down." This name is appropriate because in the Bhagavad-gita Arjuna falls into illusion but Krsna does not - CC Intro
- Good and "bad," "pious" and "sinful" - these are all considerations on the material platform. But when you are on the transcendental platform, you are automatically without sin. Krsna confirms this in Bhagavad-gita - 14.26
H

- He (Krsna) may be speaking Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna, but at no time was He ever taught Bhagavad-gita. One who can understand that this is Krsna's position does not have to return to the cycle of birth and death in this material world
- He (the Lord) is dictating or giving intelligence to the individual soul from within. It is clearly stated in the Gita that the Lord gives intelligence to the individual soul & that both memory and forgetfulness are due to the influence of the Supersoul

- Here in the BG, the Lord says, karma-jam buddhi-yuktah. Karma-jam means whenever there is action there will be some reaction. If one acts in badness, there will be a bad reaction. But reaction, either good or bad, is, in the higher sense, all suffering
- Here is an authoritative version in the authoritative book, Bhagavad-gita. And spoken by the Lord Himself, Sri Krsna

- Here is the truth, Bhagavad-gita, Krsna. So why don't you accept this truth? If you are actually trying to find out the truth, here is the truth. It is accepted by all learned scholars and acaryas of India: the Supreme Absolute Truth is Krsna

- His (Krsna's) words of the Bhagavad-gita or those of Srimad-Bhagavatam are identical with the Lord. They are sound incarnations of the Lord, & one can fully utilize them to be entitled to attain the stage of Sri Bhismadeva, who was one of the eight Vasus
- How do you differentiate the Krsna Mahabharata and Krsna God different? Because Krsna is speaking Bhagavad-gita. That is a chapter in the Mahabharata. So how do you differentiate? What is the cause that you are differentiating?

- I am speaking Bhagavad-gita. I am giving you knowledge as given by Lord Krsna. It is not my knowledge
- I am speaking to you Bhagavad-gita, just learning from my spiritual master. So I have to learn it, but when Krsna spoke, He had not to learn it
- I hear from a perfect person, and I distribute the knowledge the same way, without any change. So Krsna gives us knowledge in the Bhagavad-gita. We are distributing the same knowledge
- I thank you once more for your appreciating my mission of one God, Sri Krishna; one scripture, Bhagavad-gita; and one mantra, Hare Krishna. This idea is not manufactured by me, but it is authoritative statement in the Gita Mahatma Skanda Purana
- If at any stage of life the grossly foolish miscreants described in the Gita decide to render devotional service to Lord Krsna, they can escape the ferris wheel of karma
- If fighting is proclaimed a necessity in Bhagavad-gita, how is it possible to prove nonviolence from it? Such interpretations are attempts to distort Bhagavad-gita

- If it is a fact that by studying Vedas one has to understand Krsna, vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyah (BG 15.15), so Krsna is explaining Himself, what He is. So therefore it (Bhagavad-gita) is essence of Vedic knowledge
- If one acts according to the direction of Krsna in this book (Bhagavad-gita), as well as under the guidance of the representative of Krsna, then the result will be the same (as when Krsna was present). BG 1972 purports

- If one is situated in an opulent position in spiritual advancement, his opulence never decreases. Therefore such a spiritual benediction is called bhuti or vibhuti. Krsna confirms this in Bhagavad-gita
- If one understands Krsna from the Bhagavad-gita and becomes situated in Krsna consciousness, engaging himself in devotional service, he has reached the highest perfection of knowledge offered by the Vedic literature. BG 1972 purports

- If we accept the judgment of Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita, however, the Mayavadis are to be considered mayayapahrta-jnana, or bereft of all knowledge
- If we are at all able to grasp this genuine message of Sri Krsna, the teacher of Bhagavad-gita, then and only then can we perfectly appreciate the teachings of Bhagavad-gita

- If we consult Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, the authoritative texts for understanding the science of Krsna, then we can understand that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is not an ordinary man. BG 1972 purports
- If we do not accept Krsna as authority and take His words as they are, we cannot derive any benefit from Bhagavad-gita. It is not dogmatic; it is a fact. If we study scrutinizingly what Krsna says, we will find that it is right
- If we take shelter of Krsna seriously, there will be no fear of being thrown back into the cycle of so many species of life. A sincere devotee will surely be transferred to the abode of Krsna, as affirmed in the Bhagavad-gita
- If we wish to trace it (Bhagavad-gita) even further back, we find that Krsna spoke it earlier to the sun-god. Krsna is eternal, and consciousness of Krsna is also eternal. In this way KC should be approached. It should not simply be considered a theory

- Just like the Bhagavad-gita; the Lord Krsna is directly instructing Arjuna. But in the Bhagavad-gita there are many phases of instruction - fruitive action, philosophical speculation and yoga system and jnana system - all kinds of different paths
- Just like two lawyers are arguing in the court, but the conclusion is given by the authority, the judge. That one has to accept. So we take authority, Bhagavad-gita or Krsna
K
- Kindly if you will agree to take the instruction of Gita, I am always at your service. I'll give you such guidance - our men, our everything. But you have to decide this. You cannot take up this policy, take Gita and banish Krsna
- Krishna appreciates such strong preachers as His dearmost servants, so let us work very enthusiastically to drive away rascal philosophy and establish the real religion of Bhagavad-gita As It Is
- Krsna and Krsna's words are not different. So if you abide by the words of Krsna, just like Bhagavad-gita - there are many others - then you are abiding by Krsna. You are not abiding by the dictation of your mind
- Krsna and the Supreme Personality of Godhead are identical. Therefore Lord Krsna is referred to as - Bhagavan - throughout the Gita. Bhagavan is the ultimate in the Absolute Truth. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna appeared five thousand years ago, but His knowledge, which He gave in the form of the Srimad Bhagavad-gita, is still worshiped. It is worshiped not only by the Hindus or the Indians, but is read all over the world

- Krsna confirms this in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.15): I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness
- Krsna consciousness is the utmost necessity for all divisions of society. Every chapter and every conclusion of Bhagavad-gita aim toward Krsna consciousness. Sri Krsna, who is speaking Bhagavad-gita, is always stressing devotion to His personal Self
- Krsna consciousness movement is not a manufactured movement. It is simply based on this Bhagavad-gita - Krsna. Bhagavad-gita means Krsna. Krsna, everything Krsna. That is Krsna consciousness. We are simply placing Bhagavad-gita as it is
- Krsna did not leave Bhagavad-gita to be understood by your commentation. Try to understand Bhagavad-gita as it is you'll be benefited. That is sadhu-marga-anugamanam
- Krsna did not say Bhagavad-gita to the loafer class. Krsna said rajarsi. Arjuna was a rajarsi
- Krsna does not say that "I am for the Hindu living entities or the Indian living entities." Where it is in Bhagavad-gita? Why the foolish men take it that Krsna Hindu, Krsna Indian? Krsna says that "I am friend of all living entities"
- Krsna does not say that there is such a thing as dreamless sleep. As soon as we go to sleep, we will have a dream, although we may not remember it. In the Gita Krsna cautions that one who dreams too much while sleeping cannot properly execute yoga
- Krsna explains Himself in Bhagavad-gita, and we should not try to understand much more. We should not bother very much to know Krsna. That is not possible. We should simply increase our unalloyed love for Krsna. That is the perfection of life

- Krsna is accepted in the Bhagavad-gita by the statement of Arjuna: param brahma param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan (BG 10.12). Krsna is param pavitra, pure, the purest, apapa-viddha

- Krsna is described by Arjuna in Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.12) as follows: "You are the Supreme Brahman, the supreme abode and purifier."
- Krsna is described in the Tenth Canto, and other nine cantos are specially meant for purifying the heart and understanding real Krsna, as it is described in the Bhagavad-gita

- Krsna is the master of our senses, everyone's senses. That will be explained in the Thirteenth Chapter, that ksetra-jnam capi mam viddhi sarva-ksetresu bharata

- Lord Krsna states the process of conquering death in BG 4.9: One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna
- Lord Krsna's reputation is fixed, and His book of wisdom, Bhagavad-gita, is still honored
- Lord Krsna's ultimate instruction in the Bhagavad-gita is that everyone should surrender unto Him, Lord Krsna. Krsna promises to take immediate charge of such a surrendered soul
- Lord Krsna, however, has explained in the Gita that out of these four types of neophytes, the one who is wise is very dear to Him because a wise man, if he is attached to Krsna, is not seeking an exchange of material benefits
- Lord Krsna, in order to encourage Arjuna to higher and higher elevation in His potent service, describes in this Ninth Chapter (of BG) matters more confidential than any He has already disclosed. BG 1972 purports
- Lord Siva said, "As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, You (Krsna) appear in order to protect the devotees, and thus Your appearance indicates good fortune for all the universe"
- Lord Siva said, "The words param brahman have been used in the Bhagavad-gita to identify You (Krsna)"
- Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu wanted everyone to be informed of both krsna-kathas by His order
- Lord Sri Krsna has therefore stated in the Bhagavad-gita that to take blessings from the demigods is less intelligent because when one takes benedictions from the demigods the results of such benedictions are temporary
- Lord Sri Krsna is so merciful that He descends to reclaim suffering humanity and preaches Bhagavad-gita with the intense desire that all living beings give up all of their engagements and take shelter of His lotus feet
- Lord Sri Krsna wanted to explain the Bhagavad-gita, which is the science of devotional service, unto Sri Arjuna because Arjuna was not only His friend but a great devotee as well
M
- Maharaja Pariksit was to become the medium for the revelation of Srimad-Bhagavatam by Lord Sri Krsna, as his grandfather Arjuna was the medium for the Bhagavad-gita
- Manu: The Manu mentioned in this verse as the father of Iksvaku is the seventh Manu, of the name Vaivasvata Manu, the son of sun-god Vivasvan, to whom Lord Krsna instructed the teachings of Bhagavad-gita prior to His teaching them to Arjuna
- Marshal Arjuna is the eternal, confidential servant of the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, and thus the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita was taught to him directly for the benefit of the people in general
- My ultimate goal is to satisfy Krsna. This is the Bhagavad-gita's purport. That is Krsna consciousness
N
- Narada Muni says that men should be judged by his tendencies, not by his birth, and this is also confirmed in Bhagavad Gita by Lord Krishna
- Narayana does not speak personally, but Krsna, or Vasudeva, does, as in Bhagavad-gita for example. Therefore, to follow the direction of Bhagavad-gita means to surrender unto Krsna, and to surrender in this way is the highest perfection of bhakti-yoga
- Narayana Rsi, being an incarnation of Krsna, is also addressed as the well-wisher of the conditioned souls. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, everyone should know that there is no well-wisher like Krsna
- Negation is no life. Positive life is life. "Don't do this," is no life. "Do this," this is life. The whole Bhagavad-gita is "do." "Do fight for Me." There is nothing "don't." Arjuna wanted, "Don't induce me." And Krsna did not like that
- No one but Krsna can be the enjoyer. Krsna therefore says in Bhagavad-gita, bhoktaram yajna: (BG 5.29) "I am the only enjoyer." If we supply ingredients for Krsna's enjoyment, we attain the perfection of life
- No, the printing of the Gitar Gan cover this fashion is not at all approved by me. You have done most nonsensically. Why change the cover? When people look to see the Bhagavad-gita they expect to see Krishna and Arjuna, not the picture of Krishna with cow
- Nobody can understand Bhagavad-gita unless one is very dear to Krsna and bhakta of Krsna. Nobody can understand. That is the first step. One must be very dear to Krsna and one must be a devotee of Krsna, then he can touch Bhagavad-gita
- Not only did he (Yudhisthira) follow the principles, but he also got approval from his old uncle, who was experienced in political affairs, and that was also confirmed by Lord Krsna, the speaker of the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita
- Not only does Krsna proclaim Himself to be the highest authority, but this is also accepted by great sages and scholars of Bhagavad-gita
- Not only must a brahmana be well qualified according to the requirements stated in scriptures such as Srimad Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, but at the same time he must be a devotee of Lord Krsna
- Now (here in BG 18.66), in summarizing BG, the Lord says that Arjuna should give up all the processes that have been explained to him; he should simply surrender to Krsna. That surrender will save him from all kinds of sinful reactions. BG 1972 purports
- Now you are in doubt about whether a guru is needed. Yes, a guru is needed, but you have to go to a real guru. That is the instruction given by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita
- Nowadays they are facing a scarcity of food. The solution is there in the Bhagavad-gita. Krsna says, annad bhavanti bhutani
O
- O Arjuna, you should know this as My inconceivable opulence. This is the meaning propagated by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita
- O people of the world! Please try to translate the Gita's message into action and channel your thoughts toward Lord Krsna's lotus feet
- O scion of Bharata, you should understand that I am also the knower in all bodies, and to understand this body and its knower is called knowledge. That is My opinion - This is confirmed by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita - BG 13.3
- One can be enlightened by the mercy of God because Krsna Himself comes to give us information. If He does not come personally, He sends His devotee, or He leaves behind Him Bhagavad-gita
- One culture means politically, one flag; religiously, one God, Krsna; and to understand Krsna, one scripture, Bhagavad-gita; and one work, one work, simply to satisfy Krsna. So this is oneness
- One does not have to change one's position. In Bhagavad-gita (18.46) Sri Krsna says that every man can become perfect by following his qualities of work
- One may be a man, an animal or even a tree, but the Lord (Krsna) is kind to everyone. That is God’s qualification. He also says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.29), samo ’ham sarva-bhutesu: I am equally kind to everyone
- One may say, "Krsna is no longer present, so how can I surrender to Him?" Krsna is no longer present? How can you say that? Krsna's instruction is there - Bhagavad-gita. How can you say that Krsna is not present
- One of the real devotees of Krishna was Arjuna during the appearance of Lord Krishna and as such the parampara of the Bhagavad-gita, which was broken prior to the occurrence of the battle of Kuruksetra, was reestablished at the battlefield
- One should eat remnants of foodstuffs that are offered to Krsna. This is also the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita, wherein Krsna says: If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it. - BG 9.26
- One should first, with all conviction, believe in Sri Krsna, and without making efforts to realize Him by speculative philosophy, one should prefer to hear about Him from the Srimad Bhagavad-gita and later from the text of the Srimad-Bhagavatam
- One should hear about Krsna as He is by hearing from the Bhagavad-gita or Srimad-Bhagavatam, and in this way one's mind will gradually be cleansed of all contaminated things
- One should know with certainty that Krsna had no personal interest in whatever He did for the benediction of the gopis. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, na mam karmani limpanti: (BG 4.14) Krsna never enjoys or suffers the results of His activities
- One should simply instruct everyone he meets regarding the principles of krsna-katha, as expressed in Bhagavad-gita As It Is and Srimad-Bhagavatam
- One who directly hears Krsna can understand confidential knowledge (of BG). If one does not come to the disciplic succession, he cannot hear Krsna; therefore his knowledge is always imperfect, at least as far as understanding BG is concerned. BG 1972 pur
- One who has attained this stage (of the brahma-bhutah) is characterized by Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita in this way: brahma-bhutah prasannatma, na socati na kanksati, samah sarvesu bhutesu, mad-bhaktim labhate param - BG 18.54
- One who hears the Gita from the right source, directly from Krsna, attains full KC. The result of Krsna consciousness is that one becomes increasingly enlightened, and he enjoys life with a thrill, not only for some time, but at every moment. BG 1972 pur
- One who is serious to take Krsna consciousness, his first business is to break these four pillars of sinful life so there will be no chance of sin. Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, yesam anta-gatam papam
- Only the fools and rascals deride the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krsna. Such fools take it upon themselves to write commentaries on the Bhagavad-gita without an attitude of service to the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- Only the unalloyed devotees of the Lord can understand these three items clearly. So for these devotees Bhagavad-gita is fully useful; it is they who can attain the supreme goal, the nature of the Supreme Lord, Krsna
- Otherwise, how could He (Krsna) remember that He first taught the yoga system of the Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god, Vivasvan? Therefore, He never dies. Nor does He ever become an old man
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is to raise a person from ignorance to knowledge. That is the whole scheme of Vedic literature: to deliver a person. Krsna says in the BG about the devotees - not for all - tesam aham samuddharta mrtyu-samsara-sagarat
- Our principle is that Krsna should be accepted as the leader, because Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya (BG 7.7). Krsna is the supreme leader
- Our real business is to get out and enter into the Kingdom of God. In Bhagavad-gita Krsna gives information of this kingdom and also gives instructions about His position and our position - of what He is and what we are
- Our real purpose is to spread Krishna Consciousness. This means that there is one God; Krishna, one scripture; Bhagavad-gita As It Is, one mantra; Hare Krishna, and one work; service of Lord Krishna. We want to preach this cult all over the world
- Our source of knowledge in Krsna consciousness is the Bhagavad-gita, which comes directly from Krsna
- Our test tube is: if one does not know Krsna, if one does not know how to follow Bhagavad-gita, we immediately take him as a rascal. That's all
- Out of sentiment, Arjuna was thinking, "Why should I fight against my own kinsmen?" That reluctance to fight was due to Arjuna's illusion, and just to eradicate that illusion, Sri Krsna spoke the Bhagavad-gita to him
- Out of these five basic subject matters in Bhagavad-gita it is established that the Supreme Godhead, or Krsna, or Brahman, or supreme controller, or Paramatma - you may use whatever name you like - is the greatest of all. BG 1972 Introduction
P
- Pasandis say that we are spoiling the Hindu religion because people all over the world are accepting Lord Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead according to the version of Bhagavad-gita As It Is
- People are very much anxious to have one religion, one God, one scripture, and one business or one activity of life. This is summarized in the Bhagavad-gita - that one God is Krsna. Krsna is not sectarian God. Krsna means the greatest pleasure
- People in general should follow the instructions of Lord Krsna as given in the Bhagavad-gita and should not even imagine imitating Lord Krsna in the rasa dance
- Persons who actually associate with the Supreme Lord, Krsna, are the highest among all transcendentalists. In the Sixth Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita (6.47) the Lord confirms this
- Please take it for granted that I have sanctioned for all your schemes. Because you are sincere worker Krishna is dictating from within yourself as He has promised in the Bhagavad-gita
- Praying to Krsna is not evil. Somehow or other he prays to Krsna, so you cannot say that he is evil. Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, api cet suduracaro bhajate mam ananya-bhak - BG 9.30
- Presently there is a different God on every street, but Krsna is not that kind of God. He is the Supreme God. As Krsna Himself states in Bhagavad-gita - 7.7
- Presently, people are in such a miserable condition that they are saying, "Let us die. Let us die." However, Krsna in Bhagavad-gita says, - Why should you die
- Prior to His (Krsna's) departure from this material world, He empowered Vyasadeva through Narada to compile the messages of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, & thus both the Bhagavad-gita & the Srimad-Bhagavatam are like torchbearers for the blind people of this age
- Pseudo religionists ignore the Vedic injunction acaryopasana - "One must worship the acarya" - and Krsna's statement in the Bhagavad-gita (4.2) evam parampara-praptam, "This supreme science of God is received through the disciplic succession"
- Putana's understanding is very significant. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is situated in everyone's heart. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that He gives one necessary intelligence, and He also causes one to forget
R
- Real jnana, as will be explained here, is to receive from Krsna. So Krsna is giving knowledge in the Bhagavad-gita. He'll speak in later chapters that "The real jnana is to surrender unto Me." This is real jnana
- Real knowledge is expounded in Bhagavad-gita: "Just become Krsna conscious. Just worship Krsna and become a devotee of Krsna"
- Real problem is not this temporary problem that we are in such-and-such distressed condition. But real problem is, as Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam
- Religious principles are meant to invoke the blessings and mercy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, who says in Bhagavad-gita that He is personally present in sexual desires that are not contrary to religious principles
S
- Sa kaleneha mahata yogo nastah parantapa: My dear Arjuna, oh, you are the great hero. Now, that Bhagavad-gita, the instruction which I (Krsna) imparted to the sun-god, was coming by disciplic succession, now it is lost
- Samsara is not very palatable thing. Our Vaisnava acaryas say that samsara is just like blazing fire. It is not a very nice... Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, duhkhalayam asasvatam
- Sanatana means "eternal." As Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, na hanyate hanyamane sarire: (BG 2.20) The living entity within the body is not destroyed when the body is destroyed, because he is eternal
- Sevonmukhe hi jihvadau svayam eva sphuraty adah: Krsna reveals Himself to those engaged in devotional service. This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.55) by the Lord Himself: bhaktya mam abhijanati
- Simply by giving people a chance to hear this wonderful Hare Krsna mantra and Krsna's philosophy as stated in Bhagavad-gita, so many people will become interested and actually they will join us
- Simply by hearing, by attending lectures in the different centers of the Krsna consciousness movement, where topics of Krsna from Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam are discussed, they (mudha-dhi) will be purified of their sinful inclination
- Simply superficially if we understand Krsna that: Krsna was born of the father & mother, Devaki and Vasudeva, He was born in Mathura & then played with the gopis and He taught something on the Battlefield of Kuruksetra - that is not sufficient knowledge
- Since Bhagavad-gita is being presented as it is, within four years there are hundreds and thousands of Krsna-bhaktas. That is our point, that you present the thing as it is, without any adulteration
- Since it is said that Lord Krsna never leaves Vrndavana-dhama, one may ask how He manages the affairs of the creation. This is answered in the Bhagavad-gita: The Lord pervades the entire material creation by His plenary part known as the Paramatma
- Since light and heat can be perceived by everyone, Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (7.8), prabhasmi sasi-suryayoh - I am the light of the sun and the moon
- Since the Supreme Lord is transcendental, His words are also transcendental, and hence the esoteric subject matter of the Bhagavad-gita can be received only through a disciplic succession that is equally transcendental
- Since we have to accept some authority, why not accept His (Krsna's)? Simply by hearing of His glories from Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam and by chanting His names - Hare Krsna - we can swiftly perfect our lives
- Siva-jvara said, "All such incarnations descend in fulfillment of Your (Krsna's) promise in the Bhagavad-gita that You appear as soon as there are discrepancies in the system of progressive life"
- So actual guru is Krsna. And here is. Krsna is advising the Bhagavad-gita. These rascals and fools will not accept Krsna as guru. They'll go to some rascal and fool and miscreants, sinful person, and accept guru
- So far scriptures are concerned, there are different scriptures all over the world in the civilized society, but Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says that "The essence of all scripture is to understand my constitutional position." That's all
- So if we accept these words of Krsna, then we become actually Vedanti. Without understanding these things as spoken in the... Bhagavad-gita is the summarized Vedanta or Vedic philosophy
- So Krsna has a plan, a big plan to deliver them. Personally He comes. Sometimes He sends His very confidential devotee. Sometimes He comes Himself. Sometimes He leaves instructions like Bhagavad-gita
- So Krsna is accepted the highest authority. Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita says, mattah parataram nasti: "There is no more higher authority than Me."
- So Krsna says everything in the Bhagavad-gita. People are simply misled by so-called rascals, yogis, swamis, incarnation, magician, juggler, bluffer, but they come and go. They cannot do anything because they are themself cheated
- So Krsna's upadesa is Bhagavad-gita. He's directly giving instruction. So one who is spreading krsna-upadesa, simply repeat what is said by Krsna, then you become acarya. Not difficult at all
- So the first step Krsna took in educating Arjuna... The Bhagavad-gita is now being actually being spoken, bhagavan uvaca. The first basic principle is explained to Arjuna that "You do not know anything. Don't talk just like a learned man."
- So who is not accepting Bhagavad-gita? In the Bhagavad-gita where is the mention of "Hindu"? Hmm? Krsna says that "I am the father of all living entities." So why do they say that this is Hindusim?
- Some people argue that Arjuna was talking with Krsna because Krsna was present before him, whereas in my case, Krsna is not present. So how can I get directions? But that is not a fact. Krsna is present by His words - the Bhagavad-gita
- Somehow or other if we come in contact with Krsna, by the mercy of Krsna's confidential devotees, then our life becomes success. That is described here. Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti. Then this transmigration of the soul stops
- Somehow or other they try to take Krsna out of Bhagavad-gita. They will comment on Bhagavad-gita, but in their commentaries there will never be mention of Krsna
- Sometimes He leaves instructions like those of Bhagavad-gita. Krsna's incarnation appears everywhere, and He appears among animals, men, sages, and even aquatics (tiryan-naradisu yadahsu (SB 1.2.34)). For example, Krsna even appeared as a fish incarnation
- Sometimes there will be complaints, and sometimes not. In the Gita Krishna says these things come and go like the seasonal changes. So we have to tolerate
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has said that anyone, regardless of what he is, who is well versed in the science of Krsna (Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita) can become an authorized preacher or preceptor in the science of Krsna
- Sri Krishna Caitanya preached as one of the Vaisnava acaryas like Ramanujacarya and others and His mission was to establish the same theory of deliverance as was propounded by Sri Krishna Himself in the Bhagavad-gita
- Sri Krsna advises in Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.14): O son of Kunti, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons
- Sri Krsna is friend of everyone, but He's a special friend to the devotee. That you will find in Bhagavad-gita. Samo 'ham sarva-bhutesu na me dvesyo 'sti na priyah: (BG 9.29) "I am friend of everyone
- Sri Krsna, the all-attractive Personality of Godhead, is the Absolute Truth in all creation, and Srimad Bhagavad-gita is the supreme scripture within the universe
- Sri Krsna, using the example of a strongly rooted banyan tree, advises us in Bhagavad-gita how to get rid of this (material) attachment once and for all - BG 15.3-4
- Srimad-Bhagavatam means consciousness of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krsna, and Srimad-Bhagavatam is the sound representation of the Lord as much as the Bhagavad-gita is
T
- Take Gita and kill Krsna. This will destroy the whole thing. This is Ravana's policy
- Take this principle, Bhagavad-gita as it is, the instruction of Gita, instruction of Krsna, and try to follow. It will be successful not only in India, all over the world. That is my practical experience
- Tasmat kenapy upayena manah krsne nivesayet: "Somehow or other we have to attach our minds to Krsna consciousness." (SB 7.1.32) Then Krsna will help us and give us intelligence from within, as He indicates in Bhagavad-gita - 10.10
- That (a human being can attain the perfection to enter into Vaikuntha planets if he tries) is stated in Bhagavad-gita when the Lord says, "Anyone who knows in truth about the Supreme Personality of Godhead can attain to My nature."
- That is our mission: one God, one mantra, one scripture, one activity. One God: Krsna. One mantra: Hare Krsna. One scripture: Bhagavad-gita. And one activity: to serve Krsna. That's all. There is no two. One
- That is the verdict of Vedic culture, to follow the authorities. Krsna also said in the Bhagavad-gita, tasmad sastra-pramanam te: "Whatever you do, you must follow the sastra." Otherwise it is not bona fide
- That original spiritual disciplic succession (coming from Krsna to the sun-god) was broken, but now we can receive the same message by studying Bhagavad-gita. In Bhagavad-gita Krsna speaks to Arjuna just as in a far distant time He spoke to the sun-god
- That summum bonum of Vedic knowledge or Vedanta is Krsna. So that Vedanta knowledge, Krsna personified, He is explaining Himself in the Bhagavad-gita
- That this kind of meditation is perfect samadhi is confirmed at the end of Chapter 6 of the BG, where Krsna says that of all yogis, the greatest is the one who constantly thinks of the Lord within the core of his heart with love and devotion - CC Preface
- The abode of Lord Sri Krsna is described in the Bhagavad-gita, Fifteenth Chapter, sixth verse. BG 1972 Introduction
- The acceptance of Arjuna of all that Krsna says should be emulated; then we can understand the essence of Bhagavad-gita, and then only can we understand that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 purports
- The author of Bhagavad-gita did not leave it for being interpreted by a third-class man. He is Krsna, the Supreme Lord. He said everything clearly. Why an ordinary man should interpret His word? That is our objection
- The Bhagavad-gita - the instruction of Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita are just suitable for a perfect human civilization. So one should learn this teachings of Bhagavad-gita as it is
- The Bhagavad-gita begins at the point after intelligence. When Arjuna was perplexed at the outset, his intelligence was perplexed - whether to fight or not to fight. Krsna begins the Gita from the point where intelligence fails
- The Bhagavad-gita corroborates the fact that one who is absorbed in the thought of the Supreme Lord at the time of death immediately enters the kingdom of God after quitting his material body
- The Bhagavad-gita directs us (7.19) that after many, many births one fortunate person becomes aware of the fact that Vasudeva is all in all and that the best way of leading one's life is to surrender unto Him completely. That is the sign of a mahatma
- The Bhagavad-gita is Krsna’s instructions; therefore the duty of every Vaisnava is to travel and preach the Bhagavad-gita, either in his country or a foreign country. This is the test of sparsa-mani, following in the footsteps of Narada Muni
- The Bhagavad-gita says that material nature works under the direction of Krsna
- The Bhagavad-gita teaches the process of bhakti-yoga, and therefore Lord Krsna explained it to Arjuna because he was a great devotee. As far as spiritual life is concerned, becoming a devotee of the Lord is the highest perfection
- The Bhagavad-gita was spoken by the Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, to Vivasvan, the presiding deity of the sun, and when the aural chain of disciplic succession was broken, Krsna repeated the Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna on the Battlefield of Kuruksetra
- The Bhagavad-gita, which was imparted 5,000 years ago, is still being read repeatedly by many, many men, and still new light is always being found in it. Therefore, Krsna & His name, fame, qualities - & everything in relationship with Him - is ever-fresh
- The Bhagavatam is not different from Krsna, as the Gita is not different from Krsna. They are absolute. Krsna and Krsna's sound vibration are not different
- The child should be guided by the father and mother; similarly, we should be guided by God, Krsna. That is our normal life. And the guidance is given personally by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita
- The computer machine is not brain; the man who is pushing the buttons, he has got the brain. So we have to learn like that. Therefore we have to take knowledge from Krsna, and Krsna is giving knowledge directly in the Bhagavad-gita
- The eternal position of Krsna is revealed in Bhagavad-gita. There Krsna said to Arjuna, "In the past, millions of years ago, I spoke this philosophy of Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god." Arjuna appeared not to believe this
- The fact is that man's knowledge should be developed to explore that difference between a living man and a dead man, a living body and a dead body. That spiritual knowledge was imparted by Krsna to Arjuna in the beginning of Bhagavad-gita
- The field of activities (the body), knowledge and the knowable have been summarily described by Me (Krsna). Only My devotees can understand this thoroughly and thus attain to My nature
- The fifth excellence of Lord Krsna's appearance is that He established the most excellent of all religious principles by His one statement in the Bhagavad-gita that simply by surrendering unto Him one can discharge all the principles of religious rites
- The form of Garbhodakasayi Visnu is called Narayana because He rests Himself on that water. In addition, He is the resting place of all living creatures. Besides that, Narayana is also present in everyone's heart, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita
- The four Kumaras were the first-born sons of Brahma; therefore they are known as purva-jata. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that the parampara system, or the disciplic succession, begins with Krsna Himself
- The Gita is coming down in disciplic succession: - I first of all instructed this yoga system to the sun-god Vivasvan, who taught it to Manu, who taught it to Iksvaku
- The Gita is krsna-katha, or topics of Krsna, because it is spoken by the Lord, and the Bhagavatam is also krsna-katha because it is spoken about the Lord
- The Gita is open to everyone. There are different species of life, and lower and higher grades of understanding exist - that is a fact. But Krsna says that this knowledge is for anyone
- The gopis said, "Besides that, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita, You (Krsna) are the only enjoyer, You are the only proprietor, and You are the only friend"
- The highest perfectional stage of understanding Vedic culture is explained in the Bhagavad-gita, in the Fifteenth Chapter (15.15), where the Lord says that the purpose of all the Vedas is to understand Him - Lord Krsna
- The idea is that in the Bhagavad-gita Krsna teaches everything very rightly, properly. The whole Vedic literature is meant for that, not one-sided
- The impersonalists cannot derive any relishable transcendental pleasure from the topics of Bhagavad-gita, in which the Lord is personally talking with Arjuna
- The individual fragmental spirit soul is represented by Arjuna, and the Supreme Soul is the Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna. They are not on the same level, as it will be apparent in the beginning of the Fourth Chapter. BG 1972 purports
- The intention of the Bhagavad-gita is known by Krsna, the author. So we have to understand the intention of the author. We cannot exact any meaning by our own scholarship which is different from the intention of the author
- The jiva are explained in the Bhagavad-gita as part and parcel of Krsna. The example is given, just like the fire, big fire, and the sparks. The sparks are small, but, but in quality they are fire
- The Kardama Muni is teaching Sankhya philosophy, Krsna is teaching Bhagavad-gita, and if we do not take advantage of these thing, then again we are in the oblivion
- The Krsna consciousness is existing since the creation, but at least for the last five thousand years, when Krsna was present on this planet, He personally instructed Krsna consciousness, and the instruction is left behind Him, this is Bhagavad-gita
- The krsna-katha is not a subject matter for debating club. It is meant for the devotees. Without devotees, nobody can understand. The others who are not devotee, they simply waste their time in reading Bhagavad-gita or Srimad-Bhagavatam, such literature
- The last instruction of Lord Sri Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita is that one should give up everything and should follow in the footsteps of the Lord alone
- The less intelligent are more interested in stories than in philosophy, and therefore the philosophy of the Vedas is included within the Mahabharata in the form of the Bhagavad-gita, spoken by Lord Sri Krsna
- The lessons of the Bhagavad-gita and all the Puranas, specifically the Bhagavata Purana, are therefore inevitably connected with the history of the Pandava mahatmas. For them, separation from the Lord was just like the separation of a fish from water
- The living entities are energies, not the energetic. The energetic is Krsna. This is very vividly described in the Bhagavad-gita, the Visnu Purana and other Vedic literatures
- The Lord (Krsna) says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna
- The Lord (Krsna) says in the Bhagavad-gita that foolish persons consider Him to be one of the human beings without knowing the intricacies of His movements
- The Lord (Krsna) was acting as the spiritual master of Arjuna. Therefore it was His duty to inquire from Arjuna whether he understood the whole Bhagavad-gita in its proper perspective. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord also says in the Gita: mayi sarvani karmani sannyasya: "Resign all works unto Me (Krsna)." BG 1972 purports
- The Lord confirms (in the BG) "Although the stringent laws of material nature are very difficult to overcome, one who surrenders unto the Lord can very easily cross over nescience." There is no influence of material nature in the spiritual world
- The Lord confirms in Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.7), "O conqueror of wealth (Arjuna), there is no truth superior to Me."
- The Lord confirms in the Bhagavad-gita, "My supreme abode is a transcendental place from which, having gone, one never returns to this material world"
- The Lord has declared openly in Bhagavad-gita how He becomes pleased with us, and the same process is practically demonstrated in the life and preaching work of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- The Lord has given perfect advice in Bhagavad-gita, and Ambarisa Maharaja, as the ideal executive head, ruled the entire world as a Vaisnava, taking advice from Vaisnava brahmanas
- The Lord Himself also establishes Himself as the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the Bhagavad-gita, & He is accepted as such in the Brahma-samhita & all the Puranas, especially the Srimad-Bhagavatam, known as the Bhagavata Purana. BG 1972 Introduction
- The Lord is all-pervading. As it is stated by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita, "Everything is sustained by Me, but at the same time I am not in everything." Since the Lord is all-pervading, there is nothing existing without His knowledge
- The Lord is very kind to the living entities because they are His sons. Lord Krsna declares in Bhagavad-gita, "sarva-yonisu...aham bija-pradah pita." "I am the father of all." BG 1972 Introduction
- The Lord now concludes the chapter of instruction on the immutable spirit soul (in BG 2.30). In describing the immortal soul in various ways, Lord Krsna establishes that the soul is immortal and the body is temporary. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.7): The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal, fragmental parts. Because of conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind
- The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.7) - Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion - at that time I descend Myself.
- The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.8): To deliver the pious and to annihilate the miscreants, as well as to reestablish the principles of religion, I advent Myself millennium after millennium
- The Lord says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.3): Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth
- The Lord says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.4): By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them
- The Lord says in the Bhagavad-gita, "The asuras' view of this cosmic manifestation is that the whole creation is false. The asuras think that the mere interaction of matter is the source of the creation and that there is no controller or God"
- The Lord says repeatedly, "Don't hesitate. Don't consider that because you are giving up all other engagements there will be some flaw in your life. Don't think like that. I will give you all protection." That is the assurance of Lord Krsna in the BG
- The Lord states in the Bhagavad-gita that one who surrenders unto the lotus feet of the Lord can get release from the clutches of nescience
- The Lord's (Krsna's) orders are clearly declared in the Bhagavad-gita. Everyone should follow Him only or His orders, and that will make all happy, both materially and spiritually
- The Maha-Visnu, throws His glance over prakrti, or material nature, but the Purusottama existed even before that. The Brhad-aranyaka Upanisad therefore confirms the statement of the Bhagavad-gita that Lord Krsna is the Supreme Person (Purusottama)
- The man who is put into certain cell, he cannot change at his will without the superior authority. So Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita that don't try to change this cell, from this cell to that cell. That will not make you happy
- The Mayavadi atheists also interpret the Bhagavad-gita. In every verse of Srimad Bhagavad-gita it is clearly stated that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The message of God is just like Bhagavad-gita or Bible, any, as you like. Just try to hear, san-mukharitam vartam, from realized soul. Just like the truths of Bible were spoken by Lord Jesus Christ or Krsna
- The message of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu was to give the same message as Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita: "surrender to Krishna". The pastimes of Radha-Krishna relationship are confidential and are not for the distribution to the ordinary public
- The method for understanding transcendental subject matter is given by Lord Krsna Himself in Bhagavad-gita, where Krsna tells Arjuna at the beginning of the Fourth Chapter
- The method for understanding transcendental subject matter is given by Lord Krsna Himself in the Bhagavad-gita, where Krsna tells Arjuna at the beginning of the Fourth Chapter - CC Intro
- The miserable conditions of material life have been pointed out by Sri Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita. Krsna says that the problem of life is janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9), meaning that birth, death, old age and disease
- The personal forms of Krsna, the two-handed form and the four-handed, are completely different from the temporary universal form shown to Arjuna. BG 1972 purports
- The Personality of Godhead is the original cause of all causes, and He is the life of the whole creation. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, is the root of the tree of the whole creation. That is the statement of Bhagavad-gita
- The Personality of Godhead personally spoke about Himself to Arjuna in the Gita. How can you say that somebody, by his thinking, by speculation, can say something about God that is more important than what is being said by Krsna Himself
- The phrase man-mana bhava mad-bhakto (in BG 18.65) means "just be always conscious of Me." This then is Krsna consciousness. In Bhagavad-gita Krsna is repeatedly saying that we should worship Him, offer obeisances unto Him and then come to Him
- The politician says that his Krsna is different from the Krsna depicted in Bhagavad-gita. Even though he accepts Krsna and Rama as the Supreme he thinks of Rama and Krsna as impersonal because he has no idea of service to Krsna
- The position of the jnanis and yogis is therefore not as secure as the position of the devotees of Krsna. Lord Krsna has therefore advised in the Bhagavad-gita that only a person who has lost his sense takes to the worship of demigods
- The primeval Lord, Sri Krsna, also says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.26) that He is fully conscious of past, present and future and that no one, including demigods such as Siva and Brahma, knows Him fully
- The program of devotional service to the Lord is executed from morning to night. Indeed, Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita that one must engage in devotional service to Him twenty-four hours a day
- The proselytizing method of "Bhagavad-gita" is to turn the face of all mundaners towards the transcendental service of the Absolute Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna which process can only save the mundaners from all calamities past present and future
- The proselytizing method of Bhagavad-gita is to turn the face of all mundaners towards the transcendental service of the Absolute Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna
- The purpose of Bhagavad-gita is to surrender to Krsna, or God. But if you are deviating them to become atheists, naradhamah, then what is Bhagavad-gita preaching?
- The real Bhagavad-gita is Krsna says that, "You surrender unto Me." Nobody says, neither Tilak, Gandhi, this Ramakrishna, this Aurobindo. Nobody says that. He's made purposefully avoiding his duty. And these rascals are going as dutiful
- The real position of the living entity is a servant of God, but in Bhagavad-gita we see that the master, Krsna, has become the servant of Arjuna
- The real religious principle is devotional service, or bhakti. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, where Lord Krsna says, "Give up all other religious principles and simply surrender unto Me"
- The result of material sacrifice goes to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana. Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.29), bhoktaram yajna-tapasam: He is actually the enjoyer of all sacrifices. His name, therefore, is Yajna-purusa
- The same Lord Sri Krsna, in the garb of a devotee of Sri Krsna, descended to this mortal world to reclaim the fallen human beings who had misunderstood the Personality of Godhead even after the explanation of the Bhagavad-gita
- The same thing what Krsna taught in the Bhagavad-gita, Caitanya Mahaprabhu taught also in this Bhagavata-dharma teaching, and practically He showed how to do it. That is His specially
- The second transcendental quality is that Krsna never dies. In the BG, Fourth Chapter, He (Krsna) informs Arjuna that both He & Arjuna had many appearances in this material world, but that He alone remembers all such activities - past, present & future
- The secret purpose of the most important Bhagavatite conclusion has been explained by the original speaker of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, who was also the original speaker of the Bhagavad-gita, the Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krsna
- The so-called reading of Bhagavad-gita, lecture on Bhagavad-gita, without Krsna... God, kingdom of God without God. We want kingdom of God, peace and prosperity, but without God. There must not be God. That is our secular government
- The speaker of Bhagavad-gita is Lord Sri Krsna. He is mentioned on every page of Bhagavad-gita as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavan. BG 1972 Introduction
- The speaker of the Bhagavad-gita is Lord Sri Krsna. He is mentioned in every page of the Bhagavad-gita as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavan
- The speaker of the Bhagavad-gita, Lord Sri Krsna, asserts the importance of the antimaterial universe, which is His abode
- The specific words brahma param indicate Lord Sri Krsna. This is corroborated in the Bhagavad-gita by Arjuna with reference to great authorities like Asita, Devala, Narada and Vyasa
- The stage of awareness of Krsna can be attained when one is advanced in Krsna consciousness. Then one can understand that Krsna is present in the Deity, in Bhagavad-gita, in the taste of water, in the sunshine, in the moonshine and in all sound
- The statements of the personified Vedas give clear evidence that the Vedic literature is presented only for understanding Krsna. The Bhagavad-gita confirms that through all the Vedas it is Krsna alone who has to be understood
- The subject matter of Bhagavad-gita is talking between Krsna and Arjuna. Krsna was driver of the chariot. Both of them were in the Battlefield of Kuruksetra
- The sun does not hide, but a person can try to hide from the sun by closing his door. One must open the door in order to see the sun. Similarly, Krsna is there, God is there, & we have to come to Krsna & take the lessons of BG to learn who & what God is
- The supreme enjoyer is the Lord Himself, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.29)
- The Supreme Lord gives all information in Bhagavad-gita about the aim of life, and at the end of Bhagavad-gita He demands surrender unto Him
- The Supreme Lord is so full that for the deliverance of the conditioned soul He is the supplier & digester of foodstuff, the witness of his activity, the giver of knowledge in the form of Vedas & as the SPG, Krsna, the teacher of the BG. BG 1972 purports
- The Supreme Person has to be understood by the transcendental sound vibrated by Him in Bhagavad-gita, wherein He says that there is nothing superior to Himself; the impersonal Brahman effulgence is resting on His personality
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krsna is the basis of the impersonal brahma-jyotir radiation, or the impersonal feature of the Lord. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is worshipable as a father is worshipable for his son. He is the spiritual master because He originally gave the Vedic instructions to Brahma and presently He is also instructing Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.13), catur-varnyam maya srstam guna-karma-vibhagasah: the four varnas-brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya and sudra - must be present in society
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krsna, who is known in the Bhagavad-gita as Purusottama - the greatest of all personalities - personally came and declared that the institution of varnasrama-dharma was founded by Him
- The term "Brahman" actually applies to Krsna only; therefore in the Bhagavad-gita Arjuna admitted that Lord Krsna is the Parabrahman, or the supreme resting place of everything
- The transcendental relation of Arjuna with Krsna is of the dearmost friendship. In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord Himself has claimed Arjuna as His dearmost friend
- The unauthorized dry speculators are offenders at the lotus feet of the Lord Sri Krsna because they distort the purports of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam to mislead the public and prepare a direct path to the hell known as Andha-tamisra
- The understanding of Bhagavad-gita is so transcendental that anyone who becomes conversant with the topics of Arjuna and Krsna becomes righteous, and he cannot forget such talks. This is the transcendental position of spiritual life. BG 1972 purports
- The Upanisads indirectly draw our attention to the primeval Lord, Sri Krsna, but the Bhagavad-gita, which is the summary of all the Upanisads, directly points to Sri Krsna
- The whole Bhagavad-gita was spoken to Arjuna simply to convince him that he should work for the satisfaction of Krsna. Therefore Krsna plainly says, "Whatever you do as work, whatever you eat, or give away in charity, do it for Me."
- The word amsa-bhagena is important in this verse. In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.42) the Lord says: But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of Myself I (Krsna) pervade and support this entire universe
- The yoga system is used to search out the spiritual principles within this material world. That process for searching is recommended in Bhagavad-gita by Krsna Himself
- The yogis and jnanis are confused in their attempts to understand Krsna. Although the greatest of the impersonalists, Sripada Sankaracarya, has admitted in his Gita commentary that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- There are different opinions as to why He (Krsna) takes His birth. That is also declared in the Bhagavad-gita. He appears by His own internal potency to reestablish the principles of religion and to protect the pious and to annihilate the impious
- There are hundreds of thousands of higher and lower types of human forms. But this does not mean that automatically one body evolves into a higher body. No. It is described by Krishna how the soul becomes embodied according to his desire
- There are many descriptions of Krsna’s Bhagavad-gita written by persons whose consciousness is mundane and who are not qualified by pure devotion
- There are many mystics and yogis all over the world, but Krsna is the master of all yoga systems. Krsna's instruction is explicitly stated in Bhagavad-gita-surrender unto Krsna. One who does so is the topmost yogi. BG 1972 purports
- There are many persons who are envious of Krsna. Such persons should not be told of Bhagavad-gita, for they cannot understand. There is no possibility of faithless persons' understanding Bhagavad-gita and Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- There are many persons who envy Krsna because He (Krsna) has explained in Bhagavad-gita that He is the Supreme and that nothing is above Him or equal to Him. BG 1972 purports
- There are many philosophers who write comments on the Bhagavad-gita but have no faith in Krsna. They will never be liberated from the bondage of fruitive action. BG 1972 purports
- There are many so-called scholars, politicians, they declare that "I read Bhagavad-gita daily, three times," but the result is no faith in Krsna. This is called useless waste of time
- There are many varieties of philosophers trying to search for the ultimate cause under different names and forms, but they are unable to find the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, who explains in Bhagavad-gita that He is the origin of everything
- There are those who are not attached to the personal form of Krsna. They are so firmly detached that even in the preparation of commentaries to Bhagavad-gita they want to distract other people from Krsna
- There are twenty-six basic qualifications for a holy man, and in the Bhagavad-gita we find that Sri Krsna Himself gives the following verdict: api cet su-duracaro, bhajate mam ananya-bhak, sadhur eva sa mantavyah, samyag vyavasito hi sah
- There are two important krsna-kathas current in the world - Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam. Bhagavad-gita is krsna-katha because it is spoken by Krsna , whereas Srimad-Bhagavatam is krsna-katha because it narrates about Krsna
- There are two krsna-upadesa. One krsna-upadesa is what Krsna is speaking personally, Bhagavad-gita. And the other krsna-upadesa, what Vyasadeva is speaking about Krsna
- There is a higher principle. In the Bhagavad-gita also the Lord says that one has to give up all other principles of elevation and take simply to the method of Krsna consciousness. That will help him in achieving the highest perfection of life
- There is another promise by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita to the effect that His devotee will never be vanquished
- There is four sampradayas. So we should hear from the sampradaya-acarya by disciplic succession. As Krsna recommends in this Bhagavad-gita: evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh
- There is no "different role." God is one. God cannot be two. As Krsna states in the Bhagavad-gita (7.7), mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya: "There is no authority superior to Me." That is God
- There is no contradiction between Krsna's philosophy in Bhagavad-gita and Kapiladeva's philosophy. We need only receive the transcendental knowledge through the mahajanas, and the results will be beneficial
- There is no difference between Krsna's within and without. And one who has no sense of this understanding is the greatest fool in trying to understand Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 purports
- There is no difference between the teachings of Lord Caitanya presented here and the teachings of Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita. The teachings of Lord Caitanya are practical demonstrations of Lord Krsna’s teachings
- There is such proposition that he should exist, he should not exist. Then there must be some authority to give such order. That is answered in Bhagavad-gita. Krsna says, - Under My superintendence, nature is working
- There were many great sages living at the time, and Sri Krsna could have given Bhagavad-gita to them. The answer is that despite being an ordinary man, Arjuna had one great qualification: bhakto 'si me sakha ceti - You are My devotee and My friend
- These mahajanas follow the principles set forth by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, in Bhagavad-gita
- These subjects (spoken by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita) are called adhoksaja because our direct perception by which we acquire material knowledge fails to approach them
- They (foolish men) cannot understand that Krsna spoke this Bhagavad-gita millions of years ago to the sun-god. We immediately say: "Oh, these are all story." But it is not story. It is fact
- They (mudha-dhi) can be raised to the status of light. Punya-sravana-kirtanah. Simply by joining the kirtana - Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna... - and by hearing about Krsna from Bhagavad-gita, one must be purified, especially if he also takes prasada
- They (the locked up gopis) proved to be the greatest yogis; as is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, a person who is constantly thinking of Krsna within his heart with faith and love is considered to be the topmost of all yogis
- They (the wives of the brahmanas) came just to see Him, who was their life and soul. They were exactly following Krsna's instruction in the Bhagavad-gita: one should surrender to Him, giving up all varieties of occupational and religious duties
- This (the yogis enjoyment is anante, endless) is because their enjoyment is in relation to the supreme enjoyer (Rama), Sri Krsna. Bhagavan Sri Krsna is the real enjoyer, and Bhagavad-gita confirms this - BG 5.29
- This all-pervasiveness of Krsna is explained in the BG, in both the Ninth and Seventh chapters. In the Ninth Chapter Krsna is described as all-pervasive in His impersonal feature; everything rests in Him, but He is not personally present everywhere
- This Bhagavad-gita, now it is being explained as it is, and thousands and thousands of Europeans and Americans, whose forefathers or family never knew the name of Krsna, they are becoming devotees. This is the secret of success
- This brings to mind the statement of the Bhagavad-gita in which the Lord advises Arjuna to get free from anger, greed and lust in order to rise to the spiritual platform
- This constant meditation on Krsna by the gopis is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita to be the topmost yoga. Krsna knew very well the psychology of women
- This false argument is answered by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita: although everything is a transformation of the energy of Krsna, He is not present everywhere. He is simultaneously present and not present
- This human form of life is meant for recognizing our relationship with Krsna, or God. This is an opportunity. In the life of cat or dog, oh, they cannot come here to understand what is spoken in the Bhagavad-gita
- This is a horrible situation (packed in airtight bag for nine months), but we have forgotten all about it. Therefore Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita that our real trouble is janma-mrtyu - birth and death
- This is also affirmed in Bhagavad-gita where Krsna says: This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, producing all the moving and unmoving beings, and by its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again
- This is confirmed by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 14.26): One who engages in full devotional service, unfailing in all circumstances, at once transcends the modes of material nature and thus comes to the level of Brahman
- This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (7.7), where Lord Krsna says that He is the ultimate concept of the Absolute Truth: mattah parataram nanyat. Therefore Krsna is the source of the brahmajyoti as well as the all-pervading Paramatma
- This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita by the Lord Himself, "One can understand Me only through devotional service"
- This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, Fifteenth Chapter, wherein the Lord states, "I am situated in everyone's heart"
- This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, wherein the Lord says that after many, many births, a great soul, or mahatma, surrenders unto the Lord, knowing well that Vasudeva, Krsna, is the cause of all causes
- This is explained by Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.11): As all surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly. Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Prtha
- This is indicated by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita: That which in the beginning may be just like poison, but at the end is like nectar, and which awakens one to self-realization, is said to be happiness in the mode of goodness - BG 18.37
- This is not recommended (sit cross-legged, very straight and then close eyes to meditate) by Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita
- This is our protest to all of the interpreters of the Bhagavad-gita. If they do not believe in God, Krishna, and they don't want to surrender to Him, then let him preach atheism. Everyone has got the right to do this, but why through the Gita
- This is the Lord's last instruction in the Bhagavad-gita (18.66): sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja. "Give up all other processes and just surrender unto Me alone"
- This is the same principle on which, in the Bhagavad-gita, Krsna advised Arjuna to utilize his fighting abilities in devotional service. Similarly, we are utilizing these machines for Krsna's service
- This is the teaching of Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.66): Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear
- This Krsna consciousness movement is directly giving people understanding of Krsna. We are giving knowledge of Krsna based on these authorized scriptures: Bhagavad-gita and the Vedas
- This Krsna consciousness movement is the greatest boon to the human form of life. When Lord Krsna was present, He advised this Krsna conscious movement in the shape of Bhagavad-gita
- This long chain of disciplic succession was broken during the advent period of Lord Krsna (five thousand years ago), and for this reason Krsna restated the Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna, thereby making him the first disciple of this knowledge in this age
- This purpose (of guide the conditioned student) is stated in Bhagavad-gita, and we have to accept it as it is; otherwise there is no point in trying to understand the Bhagavad-gita and its speaker, Lord Krsna. BG 1972 Preface
- This reasoning power is especially given to the human being. Therefore, in the Gita, Krsna says, - Out of so many men, one may know Me
- This system is not new, but very old (pura). Krsna says the same in BG (4.2), evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh - This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, & the saintly kings understood it in that way
- This topmost yoga system was described by Krsna in the Gita to His most intimate friend, Arjuna. In the beginning, the Lord said that this system can be practiced only by a person who has developed attachment for it
- This type of proof (Krsna said in Bhagavad-gita) is called sruti, the proof established by that which is heard through the disciplic succession from the Supreme
- Those who are actually followers of Vedas, they should understand that there is no difference between the Lord and His words - absolute. We read Bhagavad-gita, the words of Krsna. Then how we can change the meaning of Gita when it is spoken by Lord?
- Those who are covered by the material energy cannot understand that the origin of everything is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. This is summarized in the Vedanta aphorism. Krsna also confirms this in Bhagavad-gita
- Those who are fools and rascals think of Me as an ordinary man, - Krsna says in the Gita. He is different from everything in this world. He is anadi, without cause
- Those who are sadhu, or realized, will be able to sever his attachment to material association. This is the great advantage to good association. For instance, Krsna speaks Bhagavad-gita to Arjuna just to cut off his attachment to this material affection
- Those who do not accept Krsna as He is and Bhagavad-gita as it is should not try to explain Bhagavad-gita whimsically and become offenders. BG 1972 purports
- Throughout Bhagavad-gita, Krsna was encouraging Arjuna to fight, for he was a warrior, and fighting was his duty
- To a pure devotee, Krsna is always visible, as stated in the Brahma samhita (santah sadaiva hrdayesu vilokayanti) and as indicated by Krsna Himself in Bhagavad-gita - 13.14 sarvatah pani-padam tat sarvato 'ksi-siro-mukham
- To approach Krsna is not very easy job, Krsna says in the BG, manusyanam sahasresu kascid yatati siddhaye yatatam api siddhanam. Those who are muktas . . . to become mukta, that is also difficult job. Out of many millions of jnanis, one becomes mukta
- To them (the impersonalist philosophers), it (BG 9.26) is either a metaphor or proof of the mundane character of Krsna, the speaker of the Gita. BG 1972 purports
- Transcendental topics of the activities of Lord Sri Krsna in the Srimad-Bhagavatam begin from the end of the battle at Kuruksetra, where the Lord Himself spoke about Himself in the Bhagavad-gita
- Try to hear about Krsna from Bhagavad-gita as it is. Don't malinterpret by your whimsical way. Then you will lose the opportunity. Don't follow these rascals who interpret Bhagavad-gita. There is no question of interpretation. Take Bhagavad-gita as it is
- Tulasi leaves are very important, and Krsna has recommended this in Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 purports
U
- Ultimately, as stated by the Lord in the Bhagavad-gita, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) only through execution of devotional service can one understand Krsna
- Undoubtedly Sri Krsna is the greatest personality in those days and still now also. Still, in all, not only in India, in all parts of the world, Sri Krsna is accepted as the greatest leader of philosophical presentation of this Bhagavad-gita
- Unfortunately the impersonalists or the atheistic class of men consider Krsna to be an ordinary man like themselves, and so they deride Him. This is condemned in the Bhagavad-gita by the Lord Himself when He says, avajananti mam mudhah
- Unfortunately, before this in the Western countries there was so many translation of Bhagavad-gita, but everyone's attempt is to make Krsna - minus Bhagavad-gita. They are commenting Bhagavad-gita without Krsna; kingdom of God without God
- Unfortunately, so many scholars and swamis, they are misinterpreting Krsna and Bhagavad-gita. The people are placed in darkness. They are already in darkness. By misinterpretation, they are putting them in darkness
- Unless one gives up these four sinful activities it is not possible to approach Krsna. Krsna clearly says in the Bhagavad-gita, yesam anta-gatam papam. Papam means sin. One who has finished the sinful activity & these are four pillars of sinful activity
- Unless one takes Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead he does not understand anything of Gita. That is the test
V
- Vedanta is the compilation by Vyasadeva. So he knows what, what he wants to speak. What others have got the right? Just like Bhagavad-gita. The purpose of Bhagavad-gita is known by Krsna. Why the rascals comment in different way?
- Vedanta means "the ultimate knowledge." And what is that knowledge? Krsna explains in the Bhagavad-gita (7.19): bahunam janmanam ante jnanavan mam prapadyate. After many births, one who is actually in knowledge at last surrenders unto Me
- Vedic information is: God means who has no equal and who has no greater person than Him. Bhagavad-gita was spoken by Krsna, and here it is said, Bhagavan uvaca. So Bhagavan, the Supreme God, means Krsna. That is the statement in all Vedic literature
- Vyasa is also the writer of the Bhagavad-gita. The Gita was spoken by Krsna and noted down by Vyasa, who put this Gita into the Mahabharata
W
- We are all children of the Supreme Father, and in Bhagavad-gita (14.4) Krsna claims all species of life as His children
- We are all creatures of material nature. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said that the Lord Himself is the seed-giving father and material nature is the mother of all living beings in all shapes
- We are interested in the words of Krsna. If Krsna is like us, He has got the same material body, then why we should be interested to read Bhagavad-gita, He is also a man like us?
- We are not aware what is the aim of life. So Krsna is very kind. He therefore comes. He came just before the beginning of this Kali-yuga, the most fallen age, and left for us the Bhagavad-gita
- We are preaching Bhagavad-gita As It Is. Our mission is to spread the instructions of Krishna so that people may become happy, hopeful, and peaceful
- We can get this seed of transcendental devotional service from Sri Krsna, the Personality of Godhead Himself, in His transcendental message of Bhagavad-gita
- We can go on reading Bhagavad-gita life after life, and we may write a thousand and one commentaries on it, but all such attempts will prove futile - if we are not at all able to grasp this genuine message of Sri Krsna, the teacher of Bhagavad-gita
- We can see from His (Krishna's) presentation of this Bhagavad-gita how supreme He is. He spoke this truth five thousand years before, and continually, for five thousand years, all scholars are studying this scripture, and studying very devotedly
- We cannot compare that Krsna's body and my body, this body, material, is the same. That is condemned in the Bhagavad-gita, avajananti mam mudha (BG 9.11): "Those who are fools, rascals, they deride at Me, thinking Me as ordinary human being."
- We do not accept any - what is called? - defective suggestion. We do not accept. We have got our program. This program is coming directly from Krsna. The Bhagavad-gita is there
- We have heard the names of so many different yogas and yogis, but in Bhagavad-gita Krsna says that he is the actual yogi who has surrendered himself - fully unto Me
- We have heard the names of so many yogis, but here Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, "He is actual yogi." Who? "Who has surrendered himself fully unto Me and he is engaged in My service as a matter of duty." That's all
- We have information from Bhagavad-gita that Krsna is the source of the impersonal Brahman - BG 14.27
- We have the practical conclusion from Krsna confirmed by Him in Bhagavad-gita (18:66), Just surrender unto Me; and in return I shall protect you from all sinful reactions. Therefore you have nothing to fear
- We have to accept a guru from the disciplic succession which is called parampara, guru-parampara. Then we can understand what is Krsna. Otherwise not. Now so many people are explaining Bhagavad-gita
- We have to accept this fact and thus understand the historical significance of Bhagavad-gita, without misinterpretation, on the authority of Krsna
- We present Bhagavad-gita as it is, as Krsna says. We don't allow any rascal to comment upon Bhagavad-gita in a different way. That is our Krsna consciousness movement. This is very natural
- We read Bhagavad-gita, the words of Krsna. Then how we can change the meaning of Gita when it is spoken by Lord? Does it mean that I am greater than the Lord? - Krsna left something to be told
- We should come to understand that despite having all these facilities (aristocratic family, wealth, good education or a beautiful body) for material life, we are not free from birth, old age, disease and death. To caution us of this, Sri Krsna warns in BG
- We should increase our taste for hearing and chanting about Visnu, Krsna. That engagement you have fully in the Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita. So stick to these two books, or Caitanya-caritamrta. Caitanya-caritamrta is still far advanced
- We should not be disturbed by the so-called distress and happiness. They are coming and going. Krsna has advised in the Bhagavad-gita, agamapayino 'nityas tams titiksasva bharata
- We should not give up anything. That is not Krsna consciousness. That is not advice of Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita. He never says (to) Arjuna that "You give up this fighting and go to the Himalayas and sit down silently there to meditation
- We should understand that Bhagavad-gita is meant for a person who is a devotee and dear to Krsna, not for the demons, who are against Krsna. The demons are trying to kill Krsna
- We should understand that when Krsna is speaking to Arjuna in Bhagavad-gita, He is speaking not simply to Arjuna alone but to the whole human race
- We spirit soul, we are as pure as God. God is pure. In the Bhagavad-gita Krsna is addressed as param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan (BG 10.12). Pavitram means the purest. So we are part and parcel of God; we are also purest
- We think, from Vedic evidences, the whole world was in Krsna consciousness. There was one God, Krsna; one scripture, Bhagavad-gita; one consciousness, Krsna consciousness; and one work, service of the Lord
- What is the easy way? Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, "I am the taste of water." Is there anyone who has not tasted water? He also says, "I am the light of the sun." Is there anyone who has not seen sunshine? Then why are people saying, - I have not seen God
- What Krsna is speaking in the Bhagavad-gita, if we take it, "Let Krsna speak. I am not going to accept anything . . ." Asraddadhanah: there is no faith in the words of Krsna
- What Krsna says, that is recorded in the sastra, especially in the Bhagavad-gita. So you act what is said in the Bhagavad-gita; then you remain free from all sinful reaction
- What Krsna says, you do that. Just like Arjuna. Arjuna was not willing to fight, but when he listened Bhagavad-gita from Krsna, then he agreed to fight
- What Krsna taught in the Bhagavad-gita, we are teaching the same thing without any different manufactured ideas. That is our Krsna consciousness movement. And it is open to everyone. The process is very simple
- Whatever is said by Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita, that is not against Vedanta-sutra, or what is spoken in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, that is actually following the Vedanta-sutra
- Whatever Krsna says about Himself in the Bhagavad-gita, if we accept so much, then we immediately become fit for going back to Godhead, back to home
- When all the gopis assembled, as described, before Krsna, He began to speak to them, welcoming them as well as discouraging them by word jugglery. Krsna is the supreme speaker; He is the speaker of the Bhagavad-gita
- When He (Krsna) descends into the material universe, His consciousness is not materially affected. If He were so affected, He would be unfit to speak on transcendental matters as He does in the Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 Introduction
- When I take this Bhagavad-gita book, I see one picture, that Krsna is so kind that He has taken the chariot driver, sarathi, of Arjuna. He is His devotee. So Sri Krsna is so kind that He can accept the position of a servant because Arjuna was ordering
- When Krsna descends in this material world, His consciousness is not materially affected. Had His consciousness been materially affected, He was unfit to speak about the transcendental subject matter in the Bhagavad-gita
- When Krsna descends, however, He does so out of His merciful compassion for the fallen souls. As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.8): paritranaya sadhunam

- When Krsna finally instructs in Bhagavad-gita, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja (BG 18.66), this is meant not only for Arjuna but for every living entity within this universe
- When Krsna says "I," the miscreants identify this "I" with themselves. This is a gross misinterpretation. Although Bhagavad-gita is very popular in the world, due to this misinterpretation by mundane scholars, it has not been properly understood
- When Krsna spoke Bhagavad-gita to the sun god, Arjuna was also present with Him. But, being a finite living entity, Arjuna could not remember
- When Krsna was physically present before Arjuna is the same when He is present before us by His vani of Bhagavad-gita
- When Lord Krsna spoke the Bhagavad-gita, it appears that such philosophers existed, and they were known as the Lokayatikas and Vaibhasikas. BG 1972 purports

- When the skin is out from the grain, if you simply beat the skin, no more there is grain. So similarly, if you make minus Krsna, then the study of Bhagavad-gita is simply waste of time and labor of love. That's all - Not Krsna
- When we enjoy or relish the vibration of Krsna's teachings in BG, or when we chant HK, we should know that by those vibrations He is immediately present. He is absolute, and because of this His vibration is just as important as His physical presence
- When we learn Bhagavad-gita, then we can have some glimpse of idea of Krsna
- When we read the Bhagavad-gita As It Is, it is understood that we are receiving personal instructions of Krsna. No physical barrier is there in the case of spiritual affairs
- When we see the Deity in the temple, we think, "Oh, this is an idol. It is not Krsna." If we think in this way, we have not seen Krsna. Krsna is also present in His words, in Bhagavad-gita. That is krsna-vani, the message of Krsna
- When we speak of Visnu, we understand that the origin of Visnu is Krsna. As Sri Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (10.2), aham adir hi devanam - I am the source of the demigods

- Where is in the Bhagavad-gita it is said by Krsna that you make motorcars like this? He has never said
- While fully manifesting the Visnu expansions, He (Krsna) suddenly pulled His curtain of yogamaya over the scene. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is not visible due to the curtain spread by yogamaya
- While He (Krsna) was present (in this world), He exhibited everything by His different activities. He spoke the Bhagavad-gita specifically and eradicated all pretentious principles of religiosity
- Why do you take the trouble of learning Sanskrit? Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, mam hi partha vyapasritya ye 'pi syuh papa-yonayah. Papa-yoni means low-grade birth. So anyone can be purified if they take to the shelter of Krsna
- Why does He come? What are His activities? Where does He come from? Why does He come in the form of a human being? We only have to try to understand this and study Krsna as He explains Himself in Bhagavad-gita. What is the difficulty
- Why it is called sanatana-dharma. That I have already explained. The living entity is sanatana, or eternal; God is sanatana; and there is sanatana-dhama, the Lord's eternal abode. As Krsna describes in the Bhagavad-gita (8.20), paras tasmat tu bhavo 'nyo
- Why Krsna left Bhagavad-gita? Out of His compassion, that "After My disappearance people would take advantage of this Bhagavad-gita. As I instructed My dear friend Arjuna, they will also take advantage and become free from the clutches of death"
- Why Krsna selected to instruct Arjuna as the disciple of the renovated parampara system? That is also spoken by Krsna: "Because you are My dear friend, because you are My devotee, you can understand the mysteries of Bhagavad-gita"
- Why people are so much misdirected? Because the so-called scholars and philosophers, they have misdirected. They have tried to kill Krsna from Bhagavad-gita and push forward their own rascal philosophy

- Your prayer, nirakara, or gagana-sadrsa, that is one feature of Krsna. Krsna is person. The nirakara, Brahman feature, is His effulgence of the body. That is expressed in the Bhagavad-gita, brahmanah aham pratistha
- Yudhisthira said, "As You (Krsna) say in the Bhagavad-gita, 'Persons bewildered by material desires worship the demigods.' But my purpose is different"
