Theme Analysis
The relationship between Kṛṣṇa and His surrendered souls is defined by intense affection and absolute protection. Śrīla Prabhupāda describes Kṛṣṇa as the "ocean of mercy" and the specific "protector of the surrendered souls." To such devotees, Kṛṣṇa reveals His intimate qualities: He is simple, liberal, humble, bashful, and submissive to love. He acts as a guardian, using His Sudarśana disc to ward off danger and His lotus feet as an umbrella against material miseries.
