Theme Analysis
Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that being absorbed in God is the ultimate stage of all spiritual practices, whether one follows the path of mystic yoga, jñāna, or bhakti. This state, technically known as samādhi, is defined as the mind being completely fixed on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, particularly His beautiful form and lotus feet. A person in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is so absorbed in the loving service of the Lord that they lose all taste for material sense pleasure and remain unaffected by the dualities of heat, cold, happiness, or distress. Śrīla Prabhupāda emphasizes that this absorption is not a passive sentiment but a practical science; even while dealing externally with worldly affairs, the devotee’s internal consciousness remains on the transcendental platform. Ultimately, everything in the cosmic manifestation—from the creation of universes to the living entities themselves—emanates from and is eventually absorbed back into the person of the Supreme Lord. By practicing constant remembrance through chanting and worship, the soul is purified and guaranteed to return back to Godhead.
