Theme Analysis
The Vedic conception of the universe drastically differs from the limited speculations of modern science, offering a profound, God-centered cosmology. In his teachings, Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that immense planets like Jupiter (known in Sanskrit as Bṛhaspati-graha) are not suspended in space by an impersonal law of gravity. Rather, they are massive chariots driven by the servants of Kṛṣṇa, following His supreme order. Situated 1,600,000 miles above Mars, Jupiter represents the back of the neck on the Śiśumāra universal form. Astrologically, its direct movements are highly auspicious, particularly for the qualified brāhmaṇas of the universe, and its favorable placement in Sagittarius marked the glorious advent of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
