- Actually He (Krsna) is in the same form in His vaibhava-prakasa and prabhava-vilasa, but He appears differently as Balarama and Krsna
- Again the vilasa forms are divided into twofold categories - prabhava and vaibhava. Again the pastimes of these forms are of unlimited variety
- All these twenty-four forms constitute the chief prabhava-vilasa pastime forms of the Lord. They are named differently according to the position of the weapons in Their hands
- Although each of them (the prabhava-vilasa of Krsna including Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha) is eternally in the spiritual sky, some of them are nonetheless manifest in the material world also
- Among the other prabhavas, who are not very famous according to the material estimation, are Dhanvantari, Rsabha, Vyasa, Dattatreya and Kapila
- As far as His svayam-rupa (or pastime form) is concerned, it is in that form that He remains always in Vrndavana with the inhabitants of Vrndavana. This personal form (svayam-rupa) can be further divided into the prabhava and vaibhava forms
- As far as the vilasa forms are concerned, there are innumerable prabhava-vilasas by which Krsna expands Himself as Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha
- At the top of the paravyoma, the spiritual sky, there is Goloka Vrndavana, which is divided into three parts. Two of the parts, called Mathura and Dvaraka, are the residences of Krsna in His prabhava-vilasa forms
T
- The chief quadruple expansions are named Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha. These are called prabhava-vilasa
- The Lord primarily expands Himself in two categories, namely prabhava and vaibhava. The prabhava forms are fully potent like Sri Krsna, and the vaibhava forms are partially potent
- The Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna enjoys Himself in six primary expansions. His two manifestations are prabhava and vaibhava
- The potent prabhava manifestations are also of two varieties: temporary and eternal. The Mohini, Hamsa and Sukla forms are manifested only temporarily, in terms of a particular age
- The prabhava forms are manifested in relation with potencies, but the vaibhava forms are manifested in relation with excellences
- The prabhava-prakasa expansions of Lord Krsna are not like the expansions of the sage Saubhari. Had they been so, Narada would not have been astonished to see them
- The vilasa-rupa has a prabhava division, including Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha
- The word prabhava ("creation") only refers to this material world, for since the spiritual world is eternally existing, there is no question of creation
- There are also forms of Krsna which are a little different and these are called tadekatma-rupa forms. These may be further divided into the vilasa & svamsa forms, which in turn have many different features & can be divided into prabhava & vaibhava forms
- These (tad-ekatma-rupa forms) may be further divided into the vilasa and svamsa forms, which in turn have many different features and can be divided into prabhava and vaibhava forms
- These four prabhava pastime forms of Lord Krsna reside eternally in Dvaraka and Mathura
- These twenty-four forms - the four original Visnu forms, the twelve Vaikuntha forms, and the eight vilasa-murtis mentioned above - are known as vilasa manifestations of the prabhava (four-handed) form
- To understand the difference between svayam-rupa, tad-ekatma-rupa, avesa, prabhava and vaibhava, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has given the following description. In the beginning, Krsna has three bodily features

- When the Lord is two-handed He is called vaibhava-prakasa, and when He is four-handed He is called prabhava-prakasa
- When the Lord married 16,108 wives at Dvaraka, He expanded Himself into many forms. These expansions and the expansions at the rasa dance are called prabhava-prakasa, according to the directions of revealed scriptures
