The ultimate goal of all Vedic literature and spiritual endeavor is to awaken one's dormant, transcendental love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This pure affection is completely distinct from mundane sentimentality and vastly superior to the four material goals of religiosity, economic development, sense gratification, and impersonal liberation.
