Theme Analysis
Advanced devotees of God are marked by purified vision, steady service, humility, and deep absorption in Kṛṣṇa. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that true advancement is not a public display or a claim of superiority; it is seen in the way a devotee serves through paramparā, respects the Vaiṣṇavas, avoids envy, controls the senses, and sees everything in relation to the Lord. - One should not imitate the behavior of an advanced devotee or maha-bhagavata without being self-realized, for by such imitation one will eventually become degraded
- One should not simply think Narayana is situated among the poor. He is everywhere. An advanced devotee will offer respects to everyone - even to cats and dogs
- One should not try to be an artificially advanced devotee, thinking "I am a first-class devotee, so it is best not to accept any disciples." Such thinking should be avoided
- One should taste the meaning of Srimad-Bhagavatam in the association of pure devotees, and one should associate with the devotees who are more advanced than oneself and who are endowed with a similar type of affection for the Lord
- One who aspires to reach the culmination of yoga and has realized his self by rendering service unto Me should never associate with an attractive woman, for such a woman is declared in the scripture to be the gateway to hell for the advancing devotee
- One who has preliminary faith is called a kanistha-adhikari, or a neophyte. The neophyte, however, can become an advanced devotee if he strictly follows the regulative principles set down by the spiritual master
- Only advanced devotees performing religious ritualistic performances can come to this stage of dharma-vira

- Saksad-dharitvena, as Krsna is accepted in every sastra, saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastrair uktah, it is said, uktas tatha bhavyata eva sadbhih, and this statement is accepted by advanced devotees. It is not only statement, but it is accepted

- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said - You are Brahmananda Bharati, an advanced devotee who ecstatically loves the Supreme Lord. Therefore you see Krsna everywhere, and there is no doubt about it
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was the Supreme Personality of Godhead playing the part of a very great, advanced devotee. On the maha-bhagavata platform, the devotee makes no distinction between friends and enemies
- Sri Paramananda Upadhyaya was an advanced devotee. His name is mentioned in the Caitanya-bhagavata, where Sri Jiva Pandita is also mentioned as the second son of Ratnagarbha Acarya and a childhood friend of Hadai Ojha, the father of Nityananda Prabhu
- Srila Rupa Gosvami says, a devotee should be very much careful to see whether his time is being spent unnecessarily. He should ask himself, "Am I now engaged in maya's service or Krsna's service?" This is a symptom of an advanced devotee
- Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura replies that the pastimes of the Lord in Vrndavana are meant to be relished by advanced devotees of the Lord. Neophyte devotees will misunderstand such supreme transcendental activities of the Lord
- Stalwart, highly advanced Vaisnava devotees are not interested in seeing prostitutes, but when a prostitute or any other fallen soul becomes a Vaisnava, stalwart Vaisnavas are interested in seeing them
- Such a Vaisnava should be accepted as an uttama-adhikari, a highly advanced devotee, and his association should always be sought
- Such an advanced devotee (he who propagates the KCM) will never fall down, for Krsna will give him special protection. That is the sum and substance of the Krsna consciousness movement

- Temple construction is meant for the general populace and neophyte devotees, but the business of advanced and empowered devotees is to write books, publish them and distribute them widely
- The Absolute Truth appears to neophytes as impersonal Brahman and to advanced mystic yogis as Paramatma, the Supersoul, but devotees, who are further advanced, understand the Absolute Truth as the Supreme Lord, Visnu
- The advanced devotee can also see all other living entities as part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, without discrimination
- The advanced devotee does not see anything as unconnected with Krsna. Unlike the Mayavadi philosophers, a devotee does not see the material world as false, because he knows that everything in the material world is connected to Krsna

- The Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu mentions eight kinds of transcendental transformations in the bodies of advanced devotees. These are sometimes checked by the devotee, and there are two stages of such checking, technically known as dhumayita and jvalita

- We see that devotees known as sahajiya, who make everything very easy, do not associate with advanced devotees. Such persons, in the name of devotional activities, are addicted to all kinds of sinful acts
- Whatever living thing we see is simply a combination of these two energies (superior and inferior). When an advanced devotee thinks of these energies, he immediately understands that they are manifestations of the Supreme Lord
- When a advanced devotee, sees something, he does not see the formation of that thing; he sees the energy. Highly advanced devotee will not see the stone. He immediately will think of Krsna, - Oh, Krsna is so powerful that His energy is exhibited in stone
- When an advanced devotee comes to the point of eternal love for Krsna, no one can deviate him from that position, neither by argument nor by sastric evidence
- When an advanced, realized devotee hears about the affairs of the devotees of Vrndavana - in the mellows of santa, dasya, sakhya, vatsalya and madhurya - he becomes inclined in one of these ways, and his intelligence becomes attracted
- When Angira Rsi and Narada saw that Maharaja Citraketu, an advanced devotee, had fallen in the darkness of ignorance and was lamenting for the material body of his son, by their causeless mercy they came to advise him so that he could be saved
- When Krsna is satisfied with one's devotional service, He does everything Himself. Sevonmukhe hi jihvadau svayam eva sphuraty adah. He reveals more and more to the devotee as the devotee advances in service
- When Lord Caitanya went to southern India, Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya advised Him to meet Ramananda Raya, declaring that there was no devotee as advanced in understanding the conjugal love of Krsna and the gopis
- When one becomes an advanced devotee, he understands that he should be reserved and perseverant (ksantih) and that he should engage in the service of the Lord and not waste time
- When one makes Vrndavana his residence, he should take shelter of an advanced devotee there. In this way one should always think of Krsna and His pastimes
- When self-realized, the advanced devotee externally remains like a neophyte and executes all the sastric injunctions, especially those concerning hearing and chanting

- Yasoda was such an advanced devotee that she never regarded Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but simply loved Him as her own child. Devaki, however, knew from the very beginning that although Krsna was her son, He was the SP of Godhead
- Yasodamayi as such an advanced devotee that she had the right to chastise the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That was Yasodamayi's special prerogative
- You (Haridasa Thakura) simultaneously perform both duties in relation to the holy name by your personal behavior and by your preaching. Therefore you are the spiritual master of the entire world, for you are the most advanced devotee in the world
