A Vaiṣṇava who is supposed to be advanced in spiritual understanding—be he a householder or a sannyāsī—must bathe three times a day: morning, noon and evening. When one is engaged in the service of the Deity, he must especially follow the principles of the Padma Purāṇa and take regular baths.
