- A politician was so ignorant of the codes of God that he writes: I do not believe in any such ceremonies, and to submit to them, even as a matter of form, would be hypocrisy and an attempt to delude ourselves and others... I have no religious sentiment
- After all, our senses are employed for the satisfaction of somebody - either for ourselves or for someone else. That is kama, krodha, lobha and matsara - illusion. If we are not serving our own lusty desires (kama), we are serving anger - krodha
- After rising from bed, Lord Krsna would wash His mouth, hands and feet and would immediately sit down and meditate on Himself. This does not mean, however, that we should also sit down and meditate on ourselves. We have to meditate upon Radha-Krsna
- All cooking is carried on for Krsna, not for one's own purposes. Ultimately we shall eat the prasadam (offered food), but when we cook we should think that we are cooking for Krsna and not for ourselves
- All the demigods within the material world are temporary, like ourselves. Our lives last for one hundred years at the most, and similarly, although their lives may last for millions and billions of years, the demigods are not eternal
- Although life is temporary and we do not know what we are going to be in the next life, still, by the spell of this illusory energy, we consider ourselves in the light of this bodily conception of life. BG 1972 purports
- Although we are minute particle of God, if we dovetail ourselves with the consciousness of God, or Krsna consciousness, then we become equally spirit. This is the technique
- Although we are part of the Supreme Lord, we consider ourselves independent, separate controllers, and thus we cannot understand His identity
- Although we cannot perceive the transcendental nature of the Supreme Lord, His name, fame, and activities, if we establish ourselves in Krsna consciousness, gradually God will reveal Himself before us
- Americans, they are also chanting. Why not ourselves? It is our property. But unfortunately, so much dull brain
- An analogy will help us understand the distincion between ourselves and God - CC Intro
- Animal has no capacity to understand Vedic knowledge or the BG. Even though we have got the intelligence, if you do not utilize it to understand the instruction in the BG & Vedic knowledge, then purposefully we keep ourself within the category of animals
- Are we to accept the scientific proclamation, the proclamation of authorities, or our own experience? Although we cannot ourselves prove how large the sun is, we accept the verdict of astronomers
- As a matter of fact, we will see that we are no longer in ignorance or in passion, but are situated in the mode of goodness. What is that position? We will find ourselves joyful in every circumstance of life. We will never feel morose
- As living entities, our position is marginal - we can transfer ourselves to either of the two energies
- As long as we are in the material conception of life, we are not actually enjoying ourselves but are simply becoming more and more entangled in material nature
- As soon as we come to understand "I am not this body; I am spirit soul, and my symptom is consciousness," we will be able to establish ourselves in real happiness
- As soon as we employ ourselves in the service of the Lord, we are liberated immediately. There is no need to pass through some preliminary process. This very act of engaging one's senses in the service of the Lord is evidence that one is liberated
- As soon as we engage ourselves in the service of Krsna, there is no longer any chance of falling down again into the material world
- As soon as we surrender ourselves to Krsna, He welcomes us very cordially. It is just like a lost child who returns to his father and says - My dear father, due to some misunderstanding I left your protection, but I have suffered. Now I return to you
- As stated in our pamphlet Krsna, the Reservoir of Pleasure, if we transfer ourselves to the spiritual world, to Krsna's planet or to any other spiritual planet, then we will get a body similar to God's: sac-cid-ananda - eternal, full of knowledge & bliss
- As we have got this natural instinct, similarly, God has also the same instinct. If we study ourself analytically, we can understand what is God, because we are the sample of God
- As we understand that even on this planet there are different kinds of bodies for living in particular places, so, similarly, if we want to enter another planet, we have to prepare ourselves to get a suitable body
- At night, when we go to sleep, we forget that we are the husband of such and such a wife and the father of such and such children. We forget ourselves in sleep, but when we wake up, we remember, - Oh, I am so and so, and I must do such and such
- At present we are all engaged in studying temporary, small things. Brahman means the greatest, but instead of concerning ourselves with the greatest, we have become enmeshed in trying to solve the animal problems of eating, sleeping, defending and mating
- At present, we are concerned primarily with two things: one, ourselves; and the other, the place where we live
B
- Because we are now in a condition which is not natural condition. So we have to put ourself in the natural condition, and the service attitude will go on. This is called Krsna consciousness
- Because we are part and parcel of God, our qualities are the same as His, and therefore if we study these qualities in ourselves, we come to learn something of God
- Because we have absorbed ourselves in these external designations of the spirit soul, we encounter so much disunity and turmoil
- Because we have forgotten Krsna, you think that "We can do something." Therefore we take advantage of our high intelligence to defend ourselves more nicely, to have mating more nicely or eating more nicely
- Because we have got varieties of desires, we dress ourselves in different fashionable clothes. So this varieties of life mean they have different desires, and Krsna is fulfilling their desires. Ye yatha mam prapadyante
- Because we have material bodies, we take on so many designations; thus we call ourselves a man, a parent, an American, a Christian, Hindu, etc. These designations should be abandoned if we at all want to become free
- Before death, we must prepare ourselves, what is next body. If we are not doing that, then we are killing ourselves, committing suicide
- Beginning with Lord Brahma and Lord Siva down to ourselves, everyone is the servant of the Supreme Lord
- Besides ourselves, there are unlimited numbers of liberated living beings who associate with the Personality of Godhead in His innumerable features
- Bhagavad-gita is the science of Krsna, and if we study it scrutinizingly with all of our argument, sense and philosophical knowledge, we will come to know that science. It is not that we are to submit ourselves blindly
- Bhakti means that we have to clear ourself from the designations. What is that designation? Everyone is thinking, "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am European," "I am Australian," "I am cat," "I am dog, "I am this," "I am that" - bodily
- Bhrasta means one, yoga-bhrasta, one who is prosecuting the yoga system. Yoga system means the transcendental process by which we realize ourself, we link up our life with self-realization. That is called yoga
- By austerities, by worship of the Lord, and by distribution of charity we can purify the possession of wealth. We can purify our self by studying the Vedas in order to understand the Absolute Truth and achieve self-realization
- By glorifying the Lord with exalted verses, one becomes purified. Although we are unable to offer prayers to the Lord in an adequate fashion, our duty is to make the attempt in order to purify ourselves
- By knowing ourselves as minute particles, part and parcel of God, we can understand that our duty is to serve God
- By the grace of the Lord the pure devotee cannot be in the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, it is necessary that we must always be in the sight of Lord Krsna so that we can see both ourselves and the Lord with His different energies
- By the spell of this illusory energy, we consider ourselves in the light of this bodily conception of life, and we thus think that we are American, Indian, Russian or brahmana, Hindu, Muslim, etc. BG 1972 purports
- By vicious actions, we are put into more and more distressful conditions, whereas by pious actions we place ourselves on the path of happiness. Thus man is the architect of his own material distress or happiness
C
- Can't we enjoy in this life and engage ourselves in Krsna's service in our next life
- Civilization means that, the process by which we can transfer ourself from this nonpermanent life to permanent life, life of ignorance to life of knowledge, life of suffering to life of enjoyment. That is spiritual life
- Competition among ourselves individually - capitalism, communism - and among ourselves collectively - national wars, international wars - such a person is in an animal conception, vimudha
D

- Dear Lord, O killer of the demon Madhu, we can now clearly see that Jarasandha was not at fault in the least; it is actually by Your causeless mercy that we were bereft of our kingdoms, for we were very proud of calling ourselves rulers and kings
- Divisions of human society, is created by the Lord, because to elevate ourself from the clutches of this deluding maya, or illusion
- Dr. Radhakrishnan interprets: It is not the personal Krsna to whom we have to give ourselves up utterly but the Unborn, Beginningless, Eternal who speaks through Krsna
E
- Even if we are accustomed to sinful activities on account of bad habits, still, we can engage ourself in devotional service of Vasudeva
- Even if we take all precautions to protect ourselves against committing any sins - for the Vaisnavas, the devotees of Visnu, naturally do take all such precautions - still, unconsciously we kill many ants and other insects
- Even in our rebellious condition we get all our necessities from Him (the Lord), such as food, air, light, water, warmth, and coolness. Yet because we have detached ourselves from Him, we simply mismanage this paternal property

- Even though we have got the intelligence if do not utilize it to understand the instruction in the Bhagavad-gita and Vedic knowledge, then purposefully we keep ourself within the category of animals

- Everything we are now doing in the matter of sense gratification, we have to prepare ourself, we have to train ourself for the sense gratification of Krsna. That is Krsna consciousness
G

- God is everywhere. So we have to qualify ourself how to talk with God, how to see God. Otherwise God is present everywhere
- God is never controlled. God is controller, but He's not controlled. So if we take ourself as so many samples of God, that is all right, but we are controlled God, not controller God
H
- He (Krsna) lets us enjoy ourselves to the fullest extent because we have come to this material world to enjoy sense gratification. However, this is called maya, illusion. It is not really enjoyment, but simply struggle

- How long should we do it (engage ourselves in Krsna's service)? As long as this body keeps working. We do not know when it will stop functioning. The great saint Pariksit Maharaja got seven days notice: Your body will fall in a week
- How to serve Krsna, how to disentangle ourselves from materialistic service, how to attain Krsna consciousness and become free from material designations is all taught as a science by Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita

I
- If a rich man's son gives up his home to try to enjoy life independently, he simply suffers. It is to our benefit to return home, back to Godhead, to enjoy ourselves with our original father, Krsna. This will give us happiness
- If a woman gets married and wants a child immediately, she will be disappointed. It is not possible to have a child immediately. She must wait. Similarly, we cannot expect that just because we engage ourselves in KC we can see Krsna immediately
- If by performing all religious rituals very nicely and very perfectly, if we fail to dovetail ourself with the supreme consciousness, then all our labor for performing these rituals and religious performances, they become only labor of love

- If we always think of Kṛṣṇa, by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, then we shall keep ourself on the light side. And as soon as we think of sense gratification, immediately we are on the dark side
- If we are active despite our contact with material nature, do we cease to be active when we purify ourselves of the material contamination and establish ourselves in our proper identity as pure Brahman
- If we disassociate ourselves from the three modes of material nature, our real spiritual nature is invoked. That is the process of Krsna consciousness
- If we do not know God or His orders, we can only set about manufacturing some rubbish and fighting among ourselves. This is not dharma but philosophical speculation
- If we do not take advantage of this human form of life and try to understand ourself and God, then we are simply cats and dogs. That is going on. We are fighting like cats and dogs
- If we don't utilize this human form of life to understand ourselves and God and our relationship, then we are committing a suicidal policy
- If we fight amongst ourselves that, "I am proprietor of India; you are proprietor of America; you are proprietor of Germany," this is false conception of life. Real proprietor is Krsna
- If we give up bhakti-yoga and simply busy ourselves in the analytical study of the nature of things as they are, then the result will be practically nil
- If we have sufficient devotion, the image will also speak to us. God is everywhere impersonally, but if we make His personal form from anything, or if we create an image of God within ourselves, He will be present personally for us
- If we keep ourself on the bodily concept of life, and then we are defeated. This is the verdict of the sastra
- If we like, we can keep on this material side of the nature, and if we like, we can transfer ourself to the spiritual side of nature
- If we listen to Krsna and understand what and who He is, we can actually understand Vedanta. If we do not understand Krsna but advertise ourselves as Vedantists, we are just being illusioned
- If we living entities want to actually associate with Radharani, that may be possible, although She is not an ordinary woman. We can become associates of Radharani by qualifying ourselves in advanced devotional service
- If we make our country the center of attraction, we designate ourselves with some limiting and divisive national label, such as - Bengali, Punjabi, or - English
- If we simply keep ourself on the business of eating, sleeping, sex and defense like cats and dogs, this is very, very risky life
- If we simply place ourselves at the lotus feet of Krsna by taking to KC & keeping always in touch with Him by chanting Hare Krsna , we need not take much trouble in arranging to return to the spiritual world. By the mercy of Mahaprabhu, this is very easy
- If we take it upon ourselves to kill someone, we are subject to capital punishment by the state government. Our actions are then called vikarma, for they are against prescribed actions
- If we transfer ourselves from this body into the spiritual world - either to Krsnaloka (Krsna's planet) or any other spiritual planet - we will receive a similar sac-cid-ananda body
- If we turn our attention to Krsna's service, to bhakti-yoga, we can force ourselves to give up all anarthas, unwanted things

- In our material stage we can see neither ourselves nor the Lord for want of spiritual vision. But when we are liberated from material affection and are situated in our original spiritual form we can see both ourselves and the Lord face to face
- In Srimad-Bhagavatam it is stated, jivo jivasya jivanam: "One living entity is food for another." (SB 1.13.47) Animals without hands are food for animals with hands, such as ourselves. Animals with no legs are food for animals with four legs
- In the English dictionary when you consult the word God, it is stated there, "the Supreme Being." What is that Supreme Being? We are all living being, but amongst ourself there is comparative, superlative positions
- In the human life, if we prepare ourselves by beginning the activity of our spiritual life, we return to our real life and attain perfection. Otherwise, according to karma, svabhava, prakrti and so on, our varieties of life and activity continue
- In this form of human body we have got intelligence to understand about God, about ourself, our relationship with God. If we don't utilize this body for this purpose, there is every possibility to be glided down in the animal kingdom
- In this life we have to prepare ourselves for promotion to the next life. Those who are in the mode of rajo-guna are generally interested in being promoted to the heavenly planets. Some, unknowingly, are degraded to lower animal forms
- In this material world it is to be understood that we are always living in a contaminated state. We therefore have to purify the duration of our lives, our possession of wealth and our self
- In this material world we aspire for a nice house, good property, children, friends and riches, but ultimately all of these will be destroyed, including ourselves
- In this way (by living in the temple) we have to detach ourself from the association of the three gunas. Krsna advised Arjuna, - My dear Arjuna, just become transcendental to the three gunas

- Instead of wasting our energy to supply ourselves with so many facilities and modern amenities, we should apply intelligence to understand who and what we are. We do not like to suffer, but we should understand why suffering is being forced upon us
- Instead of writing ourself, if we, in the beginning, follow the footprints of the great devotees of Krsna and follow their principles, taken to heart, how they have spoken, that will be advantageous, because Krsna will be pleased
- It (soft cow dung) does not know that when it dries out, it will be thrown into the fire too. We may laugh because President Nixon is in trouble, and we may think ourselves very safe because we have a big bank balance, but actually no one is safe
- It is essential that we disassociate ourselves from this tree by detachment. Cutting down this tree is very difficult, but it is possible with the weapon of detachment
- It is necessary to select a person to whom we can surrender ourselves. Of course no one likes to surrender to anyone. We are puffed up with whatever knowledge we have, and our attitude is, - Oh, who can give me knowledge
- It is not that we can enjoy ourselves independent of Krsna. Nor can we say that to enjoy ourselves we have to become one with Krsna
- It is not that we think ourselves great devotees and then go ahead and enjoy material things
- It is our natural propensity to enjoy ourselves with Krsna. As stated before, Krsna is ananda-maya, and, being part and parcel of Krsna, we are also ananda-maya
- It is said that the sun is taking away our duration of life - every minute, every hour, every day - but if we engage ourselves in the topics of Uttama-sloka, the topics of the Lord, that time cannot be taken away

- It is stated in the Katha Upanisad that eternality and the living force belong to both ourselves and God. Although this is true in that both God and ourselves are immortal, there is a difference - CC Intro
K
- Krishna consciousness means that everything including myself are different energies of the Lord and as such should be utilized for the purpose of Krishna
- Krsna consciousness movement means to get ourselves out of this changing condition to the eternal condition
- Krsna has no past, present, or future, because He does not change His body. That is the difference between ourselves and Krsna
- Krsna is full of all opulence. He possesses in totality wealth, strength, beauty, fame, knowledge and renunciation. He possesses everything in unlimited quantity. If we return to our original father, we can enjoy ourselves with Him unlimitedly
- Krsna is ready to talk to us, and for this purpose He has descended in the arca-murti, the Deity, in order to be seen. We simply have to qualify ourselves to talk with Him
- Krsna is the proprietor of everything, the ultimate beneficiary and the receiver of the results of everything. We may consider ourselves to be the proprietors of the fruits of our labor, but this is a misconception
- Krsna is unlimited and has full knowledge, full power, full wealth, full beauty, full fame and full renunciation. Shouldn't we consider ourselves lucky to go to such a father and enjoy His property
- Krsna may meditate on Himself because He is the complete whole, but we cannot imitate Him and meditate on ourselves. Our body is a designation superimposed upon our self, the soul. Krsna's body is not a designation: Krsna's body is also Krsna
- Krsna says, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja (BG 18.66), and we say the same thing: "Give up all other ideas of so-called dharma and surrender to Krsna." The same thing. we don't say of ourselves, - I am the authority
M
- Mukti means to be reinstated in one's original spiritual status after giving up the material conception of life. Therefore, human life is specifically meant for qualifying ourselves for this spiritual liberty
- My mission is that "You Americans chant Hare Krsna so that the people of India will see, 'Oh, Americans, they are also chanting. Why not ourselves?'"
- My spiritual master used to say, "Don't try to see God. Act in such a way that God will see you." We have to qualify ourselves. By your qualification God Himself will come and see you
N
- Now that attachment has become a natural sequence between Ourselves. It is not that it is due to Krsna, the enjoyer, nor is it due to Me, for I am the enjoyed. It is not like that. This attachment was made possible by mutual meeting
- Now we are under the influence of mahamaya. When we put ourselves under the influence of yogamaya, then we again go back to home, back to Godhead
- Nowadays so called gurus are promising us that we ourselves can become equal to God or that everyone is God, but nowhere in the Vedic literature, it is taught by any of the great spiritual masters above mentioned
O
- O King, since you have asked me about our friends & relatives in the city of Dvaraka, I will inform you that all of them were cursed by the brahmanas, & as a result they all became intoxicated with wine made of putrefied rice & fought among themselves
- O pleasure of the Raksasa dynasty, because of you (Ravana) the state of Lanka and also we ourselves now have no protector. By your deeds you have made your body fit to be eaten by vultures and your soul fit to go to hell
- Once one engages fully in Krsna's service, he comes to the brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20) platform. Presently we are on the maya-bhuta platform, identifying ourselves with maya and working according to the modes of material nature
- One should always be alert in his duty for attainment of the best situation in the next life. Human life is meant for preparing ourselves for that prime duty
- One should know that neither we ourselves nor our enemies in the bodily conception of life are ever killed
- One should scientifically understand Krsna. Krsna has no past, present, & future. He is eternal time, with no beginning & no end, & He is equal to everyone. We simply have to prepare ourselves to see Krsna and understand Krsna. That is the purpose of KC
- One therefore must purify himself internally and externally: To keep ourselves externally clean we should bathe three times daily, and for internal cleanliness we must cleanse the heart by chanting the Hare Krsna mantra
- Our dwelling, which is made of earth, wood, stone, iron, cement and so many other material things. If we think in terms of Sri Isopanisad, we must know that we cannot produce any of these building materials ourselves
- Our habits are formed on account of our association with the three different qualities of material nature. But if we can disassociate ourself from the three modes of material nature, then our real nature, means spiritual nature, becomes invoked
- Our material needs are these: the problem of eating, of mating, of sleeping, of defending ourselves and of acquiring sense gratification. These are common both to human beings and to animals
- Our mind is our friend, and our mind is our enemy. If it is cleansed, it is a friend, and if it is dirty, we contact material diseases. If we keep ourselves clean, pure, we will not be contaminated
- Our original constitutional position is that we are eternal servant of Krsna. So as soon as we employ ourself in the service of the Lord, immediately we become liberated
- Our problem of human life is to get out of these material clutches and transfer ourselves to the spiritual world. That is real problem. Not this food problem, that problem. This will go on. So long you are in the material world, such problems will come
- Our svarupa, means original, constitutional position, is jivera svarupa haya nitya-krsna-dasa (CC Madhya 20.108-109), eternally servant of Krsna. So as soon as we place ourselves in our original place, then you are liberated immediately
- Our Vaisnava principle is we have to qualify ourselves, just like cats and dog. But we are not going to serve the ordinary person. Krsna and His representative - then his life is perfect
- Our Vedic conception of life, creation, is not like Darwin. They think that they'll get knowledge from monkey. But we do not take knowledge from monkey. Therefore we do not keep ourself in darkness
- Out of 8,400,000's of forms of life, mostly 8,300,000 species of life are being maintained by that one maintainer. And some of us so-called civilized, we are trying to maintain ourself
P
- People are wanting unity. There is United Nation organization, but so long we keep ourself on the material platform there cannot be unity. That is not possible. Only in the spiritual platform there can be unity
- People say frankly that - We don't want any other world. We don't want . . . don't believe in it, heaven - or - We don't believe in Vaikuntha. We want to make ourself happy in this world
- Please enlighten us by which we can offer You all enjoyable grains & commodities so that both we & all living entities in this world can maintain ourselves without disturbance & can easily accumulate the necessities of life both for You & for ourselves
- Prahlada answers (of can't we enjoy in this life & engage ourselves in Krsna's service in our next life) - We are now in material entanglement. Now I have this body, but I will quit this body after a few years and then have to accept another body
- Precisely for this reason, we can envision ourselves "changing religions." One who is a "Hindu" today may become a "Muhammadan" the next day, or one who is a "Muhammadan" today may become a "Christian" the next day, and so on
R
- Regarding World Samkirtan Party, we can attempt for this great task if somebody comes forward to sponsor the trip. We cannot do it ourself. We must remain free from the side of financial responsibility
- Regardless of what we have done in our past lives, if we engage ourselves in unalloyed devotional service to the Lord in this life, we will always be situated in the brahma-bhuta - liberated state
S
- Simply we have to change the consciousness. Everything we are now doing in the matter of sense gratification, we have to prepare ourself, we have to train ourself for the sense gratification of Krsna. That is Krsna consciousness
- Since all living beings are His beloved sons, His parts and parcels, God is more sorry than we ourselves to see the sufferings we are constantly undergoing in this material condition
- Since all property belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, everything should be offered to the Lord, and we should take only prasada (tena tyaktena bhunjithah). We should not fight among ourselves to take more than we need
- Sir, we belong to the lowest class of men, and our associates and employment are also of the lowest type. Therefore we cannot introduce ourselves to You. We feel very much ashamed, standing here before You
- Sleeping means just like when we sleep, we forget ourself. Anyone, either common man or a very rich man, when he's fast asleep he forgets himself
- So however we may try to make ourself happy by material adjustment, it is not possible. We must turn to the spiritual life, or devotional... Spiritual life means devotional service. That is real spiritual life
- So long we keep ourself as: I am French man," "I am German man," "I am English man," "I am Indian man," or so many there are nationalities, there cannot be any fraternity, equality. We have come to the platform of Krsna consciousness, or brahma-bhutah
- Sometimes we had been a hog or a dog or something like that. Now we have come to this stage of life, this life should not be spoiled like the cats, dogs and hogs. But we should have some restraint and realize ourself
- Sometimes we want to forget ourself by transferring ourself into that deep sleep, forgetting everything. Actually, that is our natural tendency. When we are too much afflicted with these material activities, anxieties
- Suppose there is some fire incidents at home. A man will forget all his wife and children; he will come out immediately to save himself, because we love ourself very much. It is a fact. Self-preservation is the first law of nature
T
- That is the mission of human life, to uncover ourselves from this material envelopment and come to the spiritual understanding, surrender to Krsna. Life is perfect
- The actual translation of the word yoga is "plus." At the present moment we are minus God, or minus the Supreme. But when we make ourselves plus - connected - then our human form of life is perfect
- The aim of life is described that how to go back to home, back to Godhead. That should be. So if that is our aim of life, then we must engage our self in devotional service, or Krsna consciousness
- The asuric, demonic, civilization, they do not know in which way we have to guide ourself for attaining the perfection of life, pravrtti, and nivrtti, and which we shall not take - favorable and unfavorable
- The boys said, "All of us are very hungry; therefore, we have come to you (the wives of the brahmanas) for some food. Please give us something to eat for Krsna, Balarama and ourselves"
- The defect of modern civilization is that it puts too much stress on solving these (eating, mating, sleeping, etc.) survival problems. As spiritual living beings it is incumbent upon us to extricate ourselves from this entanglement of birth and Death
- The difficulty is that we are quarreling amongst ourself. I am thinking Indian. Somebody's thinking "I am an American." Somebody's thinking "I'm Australian." "You cannot come here. You, I cannot allow you to come to my country"
- The every living entity is sanatana. And Krsna is sanatana. And there is place, sanatana. So our business is how to transfer ourself in that sanatana-dhama
- The gopis said, "Not only men and women but also cows, birds, beasts and even trees, fruits and flowers - everyone and everything - become enchanted, and what to speak of ourselves?"
- The gopis said, "We have now placed ourselves under the dust of Your (Krsna's) feet. Please do not reject us, for we are fully surrendered souls"
- The gopis said, "We must, therefore, understand that this particular gopi served Krsna with greater affectionate love than ourselves. Because of this, although He has left us, He could not leave Her company"
- The highest goal of life can be achieved as long as one's body is stout and strong. We should therefore live in such a way that we keep ourselves always healthy and strong in mind and intelligence
- The internal potency of the Lord, which is called cit-sakti or antaranga-sakti, exhibits variegatedness in the transcendental Vaikuntha cosmos. Besides ourselves, there are unlimited numbers of liberated living beings
- The jivas, or living entities, are now detached from the whole due to material contact. It is therefore necessary for us to strive to attach ourselves again through the latent Krsna consciousness that is within us
- The Krsna consciousness is dovetailing ourself with the spiritual energy and thus become perfect. And this human form of life is meant for that purpose. So we are following the six Gosvamis
- The Krsna consciousness movement is based on this principle. We are not presenting anything that we ourselves could manufacture
- The land is here, and we come here and falsely claim ourselves to be proprietors of it. This philosophy of false proprietorship is not in line with Vedic injunctions
- The living entities like ourselves, being part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, are meant to satisfy the senses of the Lord. Thus, whenever there is a discrepancy in that harmony, immediately the living entity is entrapped by maya, or illusion
- The material world means we are conditioned. So in order to be eligible to go to the higher planetary system like moon planet and others, we must be efficient to prepare ourself
- The Mayavadis want to become one with the Supreme because they are suffering in the material world. Krsna has created us to enjoy ourselves in His company, but due to our desire for independent enjoyment, we are not doing that
- The messenger said, "(Anyone who surrenders unto Your lotus feet is immediately immune to the reactions of sinful life) We therefore offer ourselves wholeheartedly unto Your shelter, and we hope that Your Lordship will now give us full protection"
- The mistake is that we are accepting this body as ourself. I am thinking Indian, you are thinking Australian, he is thinking American, thinking Muhammadan, thinking Hindu. Because we are thinking different way, we have got difference of opinion
- The more we eat, sleep, have sex and try to defend ourselves, the more we engage in material activities
- The more we increase our material enjoyment we are more making ourself entangled in this material world, without being freed from these material clutches. That is the whole system of yoga, jnana, bhakti, anywhere
- The necessary condition for such a change is to employ so-called matter in the service of the spirit. That is the way to treat our material diseases and elevate ourselves to the spiritual plane where there is no misery, no lamentation and no fear
- The only real way we can minimize our problems is to surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead and give ourselves up to His protection. The Lord, being all-powerful, can make arrangements to mitigate our painful life in material existence
- The original source of everything is God. So when we study our self minutely, that "what is our position?" Or by studying ourself we can study the nature of God
- The Personality of Godhead, who is fully cognizant of everything in His creation, informs us in our best interest that we must desire to get rid of this material existence. We must detach ourselves from everything material
- The present endeavor is to transfer one to the moon planet. But as we get information from the Vedic literature, we cannot transfer ourself by mechanical arrangement to the moon planet. That is not possible. This is futile attempt
- The psychological effects of various peoples, places, and times have led us to designate ourselves as Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Congressites, Luddites, Socialists, Bolsheviks, and so forth

- The sun is taking away our duration of life every minute, every hour, every day. But if we engage ourself in the topics of Uttama-sloka, that time he cannot take away
- The Supreme Father, Sri Krsna, has created us for His enjoyment, not to create distress. Although we are Krsna's children, we have given up our Supreme Father because we wish to enjoy ourselves independently. Consequently we are suffering
- The Vedanta-sutra enjoins us not to concern ourselves with these problems (mating, sleeping, eating and defending), for they are satisfied in any form of life. Our problem is to inquire about the source of all these manifestations
- The Vedas says, eko yo bahunam vidadhati kaman (Katha Upanisad 2.2.13). He's maintaining you. God is maintaining. That's a fact. We cannot maintain your, ourself. He has given heat, light, air, water, fruits, flowers, grains - everything
- The whole process we are trying to learn from the Bhagavad-gita (The Song of God) is how to bring ourselves to this level of consciousness
- The word guna also means "rope." We cannot free ourselves, for we are conditioned. We cannot move freely without the sanction of the supreme authority
- The world is created in such a way, that no one can become supreme. Regardless of what position we place ourselves in, we will find that someone is inferior to us and that someone is superior
- There is no difference between His (Krsna's) mind and Himself (as there is a difference between ourselves and our present material mind) because He is absolute spirit. BG 1972 purports
- There is no difference between Krsna's body and Krsna Himself. He is entirely self, entirely spirit. We, on the other hand, have a body that is different from ourselves
- There would be competition and mock fighting between the two parties, and when Krsna's party was defeated by Balarama, the boys would say, "If Balarama's party remains victorious, then who in the world can be weaker than ourselves"
- These are the instructions we get from Bhagavad-gita, and whoever reads Bhagavad-gita has to accept Krsna as the guru. We have to render service to a guru and surrender ourselves
- These books, these literatures, I mean to say, Vedic literatures, are meant for restricting our life and elevating ourself
- These so-called Christians. They say that - We are very weak. We can not restrain ourself from sinful activities, so we believe in Christ, and he has taken contract for suffering. That's all
- This human form of body is the only chance that we can stop this transmigration of transferring ourself from one body to another and come to our spiritual body
- This human form of body is the only chance that we can stop this transmigration of transferring ourself from one body to another and come to our spiritual body. This process is described here as puta, purification, existentional purification
- This Krsna consciousness movement is not a bluffing movement. It is scientific movement for the benefit of the whole world. They are suffering. So that is our request, that let us wash ourself from the designation
- This life is a preparation for the next, and if we want to enjoy our transcendental senses, we have to purify ourselves to return home, back to Godhead. For this purpose, Devahuti is submitting to her son just as a disciple submits to his master
- This material world is always dark; therefore we require the sun, moon and electricity. The Vedas enjoin us not to remain in this darkness but to transfer ourselves to the world of illumination, the spiritual world
- This passionate compulsion to enjoy these fruits (of material desire) must stop, and we must situate ourselves in our real identity as Brahman - pure spirit
- This prakrti is material, but we are falsely identifying ourself as something made of this matter. The whole scientific world is going on under this misconception of life, that we belong to this material world. This is called illusion
- To become Brahman does not mean to become void but to establish ourselves in the superior nature, which means superior energy and superior activities
- To establish ourselves on the pure brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20) spiritual platform, above the three modes, we must take up the method of Krsna consciousness
- To get rid of one miserable condition, we have to put ourselves in another kind of miserable condition
- To put ourself again into the spiritual energy means we have to get free from the designation. What are the designation? "I am Hindu," "I am Muslim," "I am Christian," "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am this," "I am that" - these are all designation
- To remain free from the infection of these gunas, then we have to engage ourselves in the bhakti-yoga

W
- We (conditioned souls) must extricate ourselves from all illusory connections of the world and seek reunion with the Lord, trying to render service unto Him because He is the ultimate truth
- We all have some loving propensity, and Krsna is prepared to fulfill this propensity. Krsna is not a person like ourselves. We occupy one body, but Krsna is the owner of all bodies
- We are atomic small, and Krsna is unlimitedly great. That is the difference. Otherwise, so far quality is concerned, Krsna and ourself, the same. As the parts and parcel of Krsna, if we live always with Krsna, then we are in spiritual life
- We are Brahman, but because we are not Para-brahman, or Supreme Brahman, we are subjected, we are prone to be covered by these material qualities. Therefore our business is again to recover ourself from these twenty-five elements, material elements
- We are constitutionally servants of Krsna. Even though we may declare ourselves independent, we are not. Rather, we are servants falsely declaring that we are independent
- We are contaminating ourself with different laws of material nature, and according to that law, we have to accept the body. The material laws are not under your control; you are under the control of material laws
- We are content with a conception of Godhead according to our own individual idea, without knowing the real relationship of Godhead and ourselves
- We are eternal, blissful, and full of knowledge, but having been covered by this material entanglement, we have forgotten ourselves. Therefore Bhagavad-gita gives us the advantage of being able to revive our original status
- We are now out of the orbit, or the shining influence, of Krsna, or the SP of Godhead. We have to put ourselves again into that atmosphere of Krsna; then we get full-fledged happiness, knowledge & eternal life. That is the process of Krsna consciousness
- We are spirit soul, and as such we are eternal. Why, then, should we subject ourselves to birth and death? One who asks this question is to be considered intelligent
- We are spirit soul, and therefore we are eternal. Why then should we subject ourselves to death and birth? It is intelligent to think in this way
- We are thinking of ourselves according to so many false material identifications, but we should take Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's advice: jivera 'svarupa' haya-krsnera 'nitya-dasa.' We must come to understand, - I am the eternal servant of Krsna
- We are very small, but we can become the greatest, almost as good as God, if we engage ourself in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. You have got best example. Just like Lord Jesus Christ
- We can choose to remain in the false material identification, fancying ourselves to be the possessors and doers
- We can promote ourself in the heavenly planets and we can degrade ourself to the hellish planets also - both ways. Because as soon as we are engaged in karma, unknowingly or knowingly we commit some sinful activities. This is the position
- We cannot expect him (the sadhu) to give us instructions on how to improve our material condition, but he will give us instructions on how to cut the knot of the contamination of material attraction and how to elevate ourselves in devotional service
- We cannot find out or understand Krsna by our own endeavor. We have to qualify ourselves through Krsna consciousness and wait for Him to reveal Himself
- We cannot see anything in the darkness of night, not even our own selves, but when there is sunshine we can see not only the sun but everything within the world as well
- We cannot see God by our own endeavor, but if we qualify ourselves, God will reveal Himself, and then we will see
- We consider ourselves the Lord's property, surrendered at His lotus feet, His unalloyed, eternal slaves. Rejecting all mental speculation and mundane desire, with a serene mind we experience incessant spiritual bliss in rendering Him loving service
- We do not accept authority. We want to become authority ourself: "I am authority." Everyone wants to become authority. And that is being supported by so-called swamis, "Yes, you can manufacture your own religion." But that is not the process
- We enjoy the loving exchange between God and ourselves. That position is called rama. But if you have no idea what is God, how we can exchange our feelings, then there is no question of rama
- We forget this material nonsense. That's all. But don't forget ourself. Our identity is there. We are all servants of God, Krsna dasa. And this is real ego. So ego is not dissolved. Ego is there, but it is purified
- We have discovered many weapons to defend ourselves; therefore we are civilized. No. This eating, sleeping, sex life and defending, they are in the animal life. So that is not progress from the animal life
- We have got intimate relationship with Krsna, eternally. It is not artificial. Therefore if you keep ourself always connected with Krsna, there will be no more disturbance. Peaceful
- We have the material desire to keep ourselves fit and to enjoy life by going to church and making God our order-supplier
- We have to accept Krsna as the guru, or Krsna's representative as guru. Tad viddhi pranipatena pariprasnena sevaya (BG 4.34). And we have to give service to such guru and we have to surrender ourself
- We have to elevate ourselves from a lower position to a higher position, and the topmost position is that of direct service in Vrndavana. But everyone is engaged in service. Denial of the service of the Lord is maya
- We have to engage ourselves in occupational engagements that will evoke our divine consciousness. This is possible only by hearing and chanting the divine activities of the Supreme Lord
- We have to give ourselves a chance to progress in spiritual life, step by step. Otherwise, if we remain attached to material consciousness throughout all our days, we will not perfect our KC, and we shall miss the opportunity of this human form of life
- We have to keep ourselves always separate as masters of the body, not as servants. If we know how to drive a car well, it will give us good service; but if we do not know how, we will be in danger
- We have to prepare ourself for the next moment of our death. People forget it. Janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi
- We have to raise ourselves to the spiritual standard by ourselves. In this sense I am my own friend and I am my own enemy. The opportunity is ours
- We have to revert ourself, we have to rectify the lust into love. And if we love God, then we love everything. And without loving God, if you want to love something else, that is nonsense
- We have to take care of ourself. Daily, we are thinking, "My country, my community" - they're all busy in this way - "they'll save me." No. When death will come, nobody will save you. You remember that
- We living entities, we are the marginal energy. That means if we like, we can live in this material nature - if we like, we can transfer ourselves to the spiritual nature
- We may advertise ourselves as very great jnanis, learned personalities, but we are actually fools. That is the sastric conclusion. If we are actually jnanis, we should surrender unto Krsna
- We may have many dangerous moments in our lives, but if we are training ourselves in Krsna consciousness and preparing ourselves to go home, back to Godhead, we will not care for them. Our attitude will then be: Dangers come and go - so let them happen
- We may struggle for existence as far as our intelligence allows and may try to take care of ourselves, but unless the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, ultimately saves us from danger, our attempts will be useless
- We must be very sincere in surrendering ourselves unto the lotus feet of the Lord. Then we can immediately be liberated from all the bondage of conditioned life. This is clearly expressed in the next verse - SB 9.19.25

- We shall engage ourselves as Krsna's servants (dasyam), we shall become Krsna's friends (sakhyam), and we shall surrender everything to Krsna (atma-nivedanam). This is the process of Krsna consciousness
- We should always remember that if we can keep ourselves always in company with Krsna, we shall attain all perfection. And especially in this age, Krsna has incarnated as the holy name (kali-kale nama-rupe krsna-avatara), - CC Adi 17.22
- We should be very cautious that we may not fall down on the dark side. We can keep ourself in the light side by nityam bhagavata-sevaya, simply studying Srimad-Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita, try to understand, chanting Hare Krsna mantra
- We should get up early in the morning and engage ourselves in the service of Krsna; then gradually we will forget the service of maya. Bhakti-yoga is so strong that if we engage in it, maya's service will automatically be negated. This is called vairagya
- We should identify ourselves as neither Americans nor Indians, but as pure consciousness. I am a subordinate consciousness of the supreme consciousness; in other words, I am the servant of God
- We should not identify ourself with the body. We must know that, "I am different from the body. Somehow or other I have been encaged within this body." This is self-realization. It is very simple thing
- We should not simply be trying to end the miseries of this life simply out of frustration, but we should engage ourselves in activities that will raise us to spiritual life
- We should not spoil our energy in building mighty industries and cities to further entrap ourselves in material nature; rather, our energy should be used to develop KC, in order to attain a spiritual body whereby we may enter into Krsna's planet
- We should not stress pious activities, economic development and sense gratification, but should concern ourselves with approaching Lord Visnu in His spiritual planets, of which the topmost is Goloka Vrndavana, where Lord Krsna lives
- We should ourself also continuously hear from authoritative literature, person, and continuously go on chanting the same thing, repetition. That's all. Then everything will be happy atmosphere
- We should properly utilize this human form of life and take advantage of this knowledge to prepare ourselves in Krsna consciousness, so that twenty-four hours of the day we will be absorbed in Krsna and at death at once transfer to that spiritual sky
- We should try to go to Krsnaloka. This is spiritual science; we must try to understand it, and, after understanding it ourselves, we should preach this message to the whole world
- We should try to purify ourselves from sinful activity so that Nrsimha-deva may keep His hand on our, blessing. That is wanted. Then our life is successful. Otherwise nature will not excuse
- We think ourselves created by material nature exactly as we think ourselves experiencing so many things in a dream. The spirit soul is always transcendental. There is no question of becoming materially covered
- What is the difference between God and living entities? The living entities are maintained by God, and God is the maintainer. That is the difference. Eko yo bahunam vidadhati kaman. We cannot maintain ourself. God maintains
- What is this soul? The soul is a part of the Supreme Lord. As we want to protect the hand or the finger because it is a part of the whole body, similarly we try to save ourselves because this is the defending process of the Supreme
- When one understands that "I am not this body. I'm extra . . ." That can be understood very easily if we analyze ourselves. I have several times said, beginning from your breathing, you analyze

- When we cook foodstuffs in the kitchen for eating ourselves, it is a different thing from the foodstuff which is prepared and offered to Krishna
- When we detach ourselves from His (God's) association, we are always in the midst of want and scarcity, but as soon as we get in touch with Him, our gradual endowment with all bliss begins
- When we engage ourself in this pure, unadulterated devotional service, then we qualify ourself to see God
- When we forget our position and try to satisfy ourselves, we become conditioned materially. When we forget that our duty is to serve Krsna, we fall into the material world and become implicated in personal sense gratification
- When we free ourselves from the clutches of the material potency we can also enter the spiritual world
- When we profess a particular faith or religion and make this the center of attraction, again we designate ourselves with some sectarian label, such as "Hindu," "Muslim," or - Christian
- When we purify ourself, then we act in our original, constitutional position. Just like the finger is meant for serving my body, similarly, when, as soon as we are in the position of our original constitution, then we serve Krsna
- When we throw ourselves at the feet of God, we come under His protection, and from that time on there is no fear for us

- While in the material world we manufacture so many duties in the name of so many isms, but our actual duty is to free ourselves from the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease
Y
- Yantrarudhani mayaya. We are riding on a machine. This body is a machine, but we are accepting machine as myself. This is called sammohita, "bewildered." If you are running on a car, if you think, "I am the car," as it is foolishness
- Yoga means transcending the distress or happiness of the material body. If we connect ourselves with Krsna through the supreme yoga, we can get rid of material happiness and distress arising from the body
- Yudhisthira said, "O Krsna, You are unlimited, and although we sometimes think of ourselves as royal kings and rulers of the world and become puffed up over our paltry positions, we are very poor in heart"
