Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that Yadunandana Acarya was a highly exalted Vaisnava, an initiated disciple of Advaita Acarya, and an intimate student of Vasudeva Datta. Demonstrating his pure spiritual vision, Yadunandana Acarya transcended all superficial caste distinctions by accepting Vasudeva Datta as his spiritual master, even though Vasudeva was not born in a brahmana family. Yadunandana Acarya served as the family priest and the official initiating spiritual master of Raghunatha dasa Gosvami. He also played a crucial, albeit unintentional, role in Raghunatha dasa Gosvami's renunciation by calling him out of his heavily guarded home in the dead of night to persuade a brahmana to resume Deity worship—an opportunity Raghunatha utilized to finally escape and completely surrender to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in Jagannatha Puri.
Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that Mahārāja Yadu, the eldest son of King Yayāti and Devayānī, was an exalted soul completely aware of religious principles (dharma). When King Yayāti, driven by material illusion, shamelessly asked his sons to exchange their youth for his old age, Yadu refused. Unlike his brothers who refused out of ignorance, Yadu's refusal was purely transcendental. Like the four Kumaras who refused their father Lord Brahma for a higher cause, Yadu declined because he wanted to use his youth to cultivate renunciation and engage fully in devotional service (bhakti) without the disturbance of premature old age, thus avoiding the entanglements of karma. Because of Yadu's unalloyed devotion and eagerness to serve, he became immensely dear to the Supreme Lord, prompting Śrī Kṛṣṇa to personally descend in his glorious dynasty.

* '''A Pure Vaisnava Free from Caste Distinctions:''' Yadunandana Acarya perfectly demonstrated the absolute nature of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Although born in a high-class brahmana family, he rejected all mundane sentimental distinctions and accepted Vasudeva Datta as his spiritual master.
* '''Adherence to Religious Principles:''' Mahārāja Yadu was a highly pious ruler who fully understood the true purpose of dharma. His actions were always guided by spiritual wisdom, distinguishing him from his less elevated brothers.
* '''An Important Branch of the Caitanya Tree:''' As an officially initiated disciple of Advaita Acarya, Yadunandana Acarya was a prominent branch of the Caitanya tree. He considered Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu his very life and soul.
* '''Rejecting Material Illusion:''' When King Yayāti shamelessly requested to exchange his old age for his son's youth, Yadu recognized this as a manifestation of material madness and refused to sacrifice his prime years for his father's sense gratification.
* '''The Spiritual Master of Raghunatha dasa:''' Yadunandana Acarya served as the revered family priest and the initiating spiritual master of Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, nurturing his early spiritual life while he was still a householder.
* '''Eagerness for Devotional Service:''' Yadu's refusal was not an act of rebellion but a dedication to a higher cause. He wished to utilize his youth and vitality to cultivate renunciation and engage completely in the devotional service of the Lord.
* '''The Catalyst for Renunciation:''' In a remarkable arrangement of providence, Yadunandana Acarya became the instrument of Raghunatha dasa's escape. By calling him out of his guarded house at night to resolve a Deity worship issue, he inadvertently provided the perfect opportunity for his disciple to leave home forever.
* '''Attracting the Supreme Lord:''' Because Yadu was such a faithful and eager servant, he became exceptionally dear to Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Consequently, the Supreme Personality of Godhead chose to descend in the Yadu dynasty, forever glorifying his lineage.
