- If a bona fide spiritual master bestows any blessings upon his disciple, that will make the disciple immediately advanced without the disciple's following the regulated principles because he is a representative of Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- If a spiritual master cannot direct his disciples to become free of sinful activities, he becomes responsible for their sinful acts. These subtle laws of nature are unknown to the present leaders of society
- In a song we sing every day, Narottama dasa Thakura says, caksu-dana dila yei, janme janme prabhu sei: the guru gives spiritual insight to the disciple, and therefore the guru should be considered his master, life after life

- The Deity (of Krsna appeared from gopi-candana) was so heavy that not even thirty people could lift it. Yet Madhvacarya personally brought this Deity to Udupi. Eight of Madhvacarya’s sannyasa disciples became directors of his eight monasteries
- The disciple must surrender to the spiritual master, the representative of Krsna. The spiritual master, being in the disciplic succession stemming from Narada Muni, is in the same category with Narada Muni

- The system is: the disciple falls flat before the spiritual master. That is the etiquette, pranipatena. And if you think that you know better than Krsna or Krsna's representative, the guru, there is no necessity of accepting guru

- Under Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami’s order, one of his disciples constructed the Govinda temple. Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami supplied all the ornaments of the Govinda Deity
- Under the circumstances, since Brahmananda Bharati was in the position of a spiritual master, he emerged victorious over Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who considered Himself Brahmananda Bharati’s disciple

- Whatever he (the disciple) possesses he offers to the spiritual master, the guru, who engages him in sravanam kirtanam visnoh - SB 7.5.23
- Whatever the spiritual master says must be accepted by the disciple. Only then is success certain. This is the Vedic system
- When discourses on krsna-katha take place between a liberated spiritual master and his disciple, others also sometimes take advantage of hearing these topics and also benefit. These topics are the medicine to stop the repetition of birth and death
- When Narada Muni made the hunter a disciple, so he dragged him to the riverside, Ganges, and gave him a tulasi plant that, "You sit down here and chant Hare Krsna mantra. And the tulasi plant is here. You offer obeisances"
- When Narada saw that Dhruva was so determined, he initiated him as a disciple and gave him the mantra, om namo bhagavate vasudevaya. Dhruva chanted this mantra and became perfect, and God came before him
- When the spiritual master comes to the residence of his disciples, the disciples should follow in the footsteps of the former hunter. It doesn’t matter what one was before initiation. After initiation, one must learn the etiquette mentioned herein
