- After the end of the Battle of Kuruksetra, the Lord said: The abatement of the earth's great burden, eighteen aksauhinis, has now been effected with the help of Drona, Bhisma, Arjuna and Bhima. But what is this?
- All glories of the Lord (Krsna) are especially known to the great mahajanas like Brahma, Siva, Narada, Kapila, Kumara and Bhisma, as mentioned above, and one is able to grasp it by their grace

- Bhisma is accepted as mahajana, as authority. And what was his business? He wanted to kill Krsna and Arjuna. Just try to understand. Therefore, we have to follow only the instruction of mahajana; otherwise, we'll be bewildered
- Bhisma is stated as one of the authority, mahajana. But what did he do? He fought against Krsna and pierced with his arrows. You know, we have stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Bhisma knew the Supersoul to be a partial expansion of Lord Krsna, whom he understood to be the supreme, unborn transcendental form

- Bhisma was lying on the bed of arrows on one side of the battlefield. There was trees & grass, but no dead men were around. Only there was the Pandavas. Krishna & great sages such as Vyasa - big, big men. Krishna was in the forefront in His royal dress
- Bhisma, he's authority. Next to Krsna, Bhisma is one of the authorities. There are twelve authorities: svayambhur naradah sambhuh kapilah kumaro manuh, prahlada bhisma janakah (SB 6.3.20). They are the authorities of piety, religion

- One day Bhisma, in order to nullify Krsna's promise, exhibited his fighting spirit so magnificently against Arjuna that Krsna was obliged to get down from His chariot
- One should not have asked him (Bhismadeva) any question at that time, but Lord Sri Krsna wanted to prove that His pure devotees are always sound in body and mind by dint of spiritual enlightenment

- Seeing him (Bhisma) lying on the ground, like a demigod fallen from the sky, the Pandava King Yudhisthira, along with his younger brothers and Lord Krsna, bowed down before him
- Simple bhakti-yoga is enough to bring about perfection. Therefore, the ardent desire of Bhismadeva was to see the person of Krsna, the most lovable object, & by the grace of the Lord, Sri Bhismadeva had this opportunity at the last stage of his breathing
