This article analyzes the concept of *Ego* in its totality, decisively distinguishing between the temporary *False Ego* (Ahankāra) and the eternal *Real Ego*. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the ego is the permanent sense of "I am" that is inherent to the soul's identity. Spiritual life is not about dissolving this identity, but purifying it, restoring the constitutional understanding that the ego is spiritual and its proper function is eternal service to Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

- We forget this material nonsense. That's all. But don't forget ourself. Our identity is there. We are all servants of God, Krsna dasa. And this is real ego. So ego is not dissolved. Ego is there, but it is purified
