- A child is born into ignorance, and if as he grows older he remains under the bodily conception of life, he lives in darkness. His position is that of a sudra

- Material existence begins with the illusioned bodily conception of life, and on the basis of this conception there ensues a series of unwanted things (anarthas). These unwanted things are actually mental desires for various types of sense gratification
- Materialistic persons do not know what the real problem of life is. This is due to a lack of spiritual education. Especially in the present age, every man is in darkness, in the bodily conception of life, not knowing anything of the spirit soul
- Misidentification of oneself and others as "I" and "you" on the basis of the bodily concept of life is a product of ignorance. This bodily concept is the cause of repeated birth and death, and it makes us go on continuously in material existence

- Others, who are bewildered by fruitive activities, either by Vedic injunction or by customary dealings, and who do not take to devotional service, are captivated by the external happiness of the bodily concept of life
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is not on the bodily concept of life. It is the movement on the basic principle of the soul - what is the soul, what is the soul's necessity, how the soul will be peaceful, happy

- Sa eva go-kharah. Everyone is interested with this bodily conception of life like cats and dogs. This is the position. Not only now, always, this is the material condition
- Sastra says that if one is in bodily concept of life, he is no better than the animal. Because the dog, it does not know that beyond this body, the dog is there, he is a living entity, he is a soul, he is Brahman, part and parcel of the Supreme Brahman
- Sex life increases the bodily concept of life. Therefore, the whole process is to reduce it to nil. Yes. Reduce it

- So-called social, national and government leaders mislead people more and more, under the bodily conception of life, with the result that all the leaders, with their followers, are gliding down to hellish conditions birth after birth
- Sometimes a person caught in the blazing fire of material existence condemns himself, but due to his bodily conception he cannot get out of the entanglement, and thus he suffers more and more
- Soul is not black, white, yellow. Soul is spirit. So one has to realize that "I am spirit soul. I am not Indian nor American nor Englishman nor German nor white nor black. This is my bodily description. I am not this body"
- Soul is now dependent on the mind; therefore mind has to be trained up. That is called yoga. Those who are too much in the bodily concept of life, the hatha-yoga is recommended to control the mind
- Spiritual knowledge begins when one is perfectly aware that "After finishing this body, I am not finished." That is perfection. Not that those who are in this concept of life, that with the finishing of this body everything is finished. That is nonsense
- Spiritual life and material life, what is the difference? Material life means the bodily concept of life, "I am this body." This concept of life is prevalent amongst the animals

- Srila Jiva Gosvami says that tanu-mani, those in the bodily concept of life, are papi, sinful persons. For such sinful persons, the ultimate destination is the darkest region of hellish life - ganta tamo 'ndham
- Srila Madhvacarya says that those who are too materially affected continue the bodily conception. Such persons are concerned with different bodily symptoms, whereas one freed from bodily conceptions lives without the body even in the material condition
- Srutadeva said, "Only a devotee can immediately appreciate Your (Krsna) existence within his heart, whereas for a person who has only a bodily concept of life and is engaged in sense gratification, You always remain covered by the curtain of yogamaya"
- Such natural instincts (for gross selfishness) of a woman or a man are manifested only in the bodily conception of life. When either a man or a woman is advanced in spiritual consciousness, the bodily conception of life practically vanishes
- Such people are called sarkaraksa, which means that they are situated in the gross bodily conception. There are also followers of the rsi known as Aruna. Following his path, they observe the activities of the arteries
- Sufferings are due to the bodily concept of life. As you stated, that you simply want to leave the material world and be with Krishna, that is the best solution, rather than taking account of how things happened that you came here

- That is the real disease. So long one is situated in the bodily concept of life, he is animal

- Thinking himself a king, King Rahugana was in the bodily conception and was influenced by material nature's modes of passion and ignorance. Due to madness, he chastised Jada Bharata with uncalled-for and contradictory words
- This (taking everything away from the devotee) is a special favor granted by the Lord to a devotee who cannot fully surrender to the Lord due to a strong bodily conception
- This argument (that bodily desginations like pain and pleasure are felt by the soul) put forward by Maharaja Rahugana is correct from the practical point of view, but it arises from an attachment to the bodily conception
- This bodily concept of life itself is mistake. I am not this body, but I am thinking I am this body. Actually I am not this body, and still I am thinking that I am Indian, you are thinking you are American. This is mistake. This beginning is mistake
- This bodily conception of life, when we get out of it, that is real knowledge, pandita
- This bodily exercise is meant for person who is in the bodily concept of life. One who understands that "I am not this body; I am part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa. My duty is to serve Krsna," that is first-class yogi

- This is Krsna consciousness movement. They have forgotten; they have forgotten that one is black, one is white, one is yellow, one is red or one is this or that. The bodily concept they have forgotten. This is practical. You can see
- This is the power of hari-sankirtana. If one is absorbed in Krsna consciousness, so all benefit is there. So long in the bodily concept of life, we require this varnasrama-dharma. Otherwise there is no necessity

- This Krsna consciousness movement is trying to educate people to give up this bodily concept of life. This is the sum and substance of this movement
- This material civilization, they're decorating this body. So the bodily concept of life is condemned in the very beginning of Bhagavad-gita. This knowledge was given to Arjuna by Krsna when he surrendered. When he was talking friendly, He did not say

- Those who are allured by the bodily concept are no better than cats and dogs. If we accept that "I am this body," then we are not better than the cats and dogs because their concept of life is like that

- To err is human. That is a fact; everyone will agree. Yes. Nobody can say, "I never committed any mistake." Nobody can say that. That is not possible. So long we have got this bodily concept of life, this is mistake

- When one is promoted to this (original and spiritual) status, one is always happy in transcendental bliss. Otherwise, as long as one is in the bodily concept of life, one must suffer material conditions

- Yoga-sthah means that you remain in spiritual consciousness, but at the same time, you go on with your usual work. You remain in spiritual consciousness and go on with your work. It is very difficult? I am working with bodily conception of life
- Yogis have a bodily concept of life - they think that they can achieve something spiritual by exercising the body through dharana, asana, pranayama, etc
- You are dead actually, because this body, the bodily concept of life, this body is dead. Just like you are driving one car. But if you think that "I'm the car . . ." The car is dead. The car is moving because you are alive
- You cannot be united on the material platform. That is not possible. Because on the material platform... Material platform means on the bodily concept of life
