The destiny of every living entity within the material world is strictly governed by the law of karma, a system of cause and effect that dictates the conditions of one's birth, duration of life, and experience of happiness or distress. • The Sanction of the Supreme Lord: While the living entity desires, it is the Supreme Lord who sanctions the awarding of specific bodies and circumstances, acting as the impartial witness to the individual's past deeds.
• Breaking the Cycle: The only way to escape the stringent laws of karma and stop the repetition of birth and death is to take shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engage in devotional service.
