The principle of association is one of the most powerful forces in human life. Recognizing that it is extremely difficult for ordinary people to find genuine saintly association in the modern age, Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the very purpose of establishing the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement—including the acquisition of large plots of land for temples and communities—was to create a worldwide association of sādhus where anyone can take shelter and perfect their lives.
