Theme Analysis
The central instruction of all Vedic scriptures is summarized in the principle of smaraṇam: one should always remember Kṛṣṇa and never forget Him. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that this constant remembrance is the essence of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Whether through chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, strictly following regulative principles, or engaging in devotional service, the goal is to mold one's life so that at the time of death, one remembers the Supreme Lord. This remembrance is the only safety against the dangers of māyā and the cycle of birth and death.
