- Being impelled by lust, an ordinary worker will work hard day and night; similarly a devotee can work hard day and night to satisfy Krsna. Just as karmis are working hard to satisfy kama-krodha, a devotee should work in the same way to satisfy Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita condemns worship of the demigods. This verse (of BG 7.20) clearly states that people worship the demigods due to kama, material lust
- Bhakti, devotional service, is transcendental even to mukti, liberation. Generally people are concerned with dharma, artha, kama and moksa

- People are after dharma, artha, kama and moksa. Generally they perform religious activities to achieve some material gain, and they engage in material activity for sense gratification
- People are generally become religious to get some material benefit, dharma artha. And as soon as he gets material benefit, he enjoys his senses, kama
- People are meant for this purpose (to prepare for next body), but due to this lust, kama, and krodha, anger, they are being degraded. Therefore Krsna is advising that control these two things

- The word kama-karatah is very significant. A person who knowingly violates the rules acts in lust. He knows that this is forbidden, but still he acts. This is called acting whimsically
- The word niguhantim ("trying to cover") indicates that even if one is tainted by kama, lobha, krodha, etc., they can be transfigured by Krsna consciousness. In other words, one can utilize kama (lust) for serving Krsna
- The words prahradam grahayam asa are important. The words grahayam asa literally mean that they tried to induce Prahlada Maharaja to accept the paths of dharma, artha and kama - religion, economic development and sense gratification

- To try to stop desires is impossible. One has to desire the Supreme in order not to be entangled in inferior desires. Jnanis maintain a desire to become one with the Supreme, but such desire is also considered to be kama, lust

- We are actually busy with dharma, artha, kama and moksa, but when we transcend these, bhakti begins
- We are distributing that love in so many ways, up to the dog. This is called illusion. We do not know where to apply love. If you see, all these words is touched with the word kama, kama. Kama means lust. There is no question of love

- When one is above the stages of dharma, artha, kama and moksa, one becomes a devotee. He is then on the platform from which he is guaranteed not to fall again to material existence - yad gatva na nivartante

- When you use bodily necessities in excessive proportion, that is called kama
- Whenever we perform some religious act in terms of dharma, artha, kama and moksa, we must perform it according to the time, place and person - kala, desa, patra
- Without discipline, without proper understanding of the four principles of life, dharma, artha, kama, moksa, nobody can become happy

- You are being trained up to become qualified brahmanas. So be always careful that you may not contact the quality of passion and ignorance. Passion and ignorance will induce you... Kama lobha, lust and greediness
- You should always consider them as your greatest enemy, kama and krodha. That makes us entangled in this material world, rajo-guna. And lower than that, tamo guna
