Human society naturally seeks leadership, but because people lack spiritual education, they blindly follow unauthorized politicians, scientists, and philosophers whom Śrīla Prabhupāda sharply refers to as "silly jackals." The Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement presents the ultimate alternative: accepting Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, as the supreme leader. We must follow Kṛṣṇa's direct order in the Bhagavad-gītā to surrender unto Him, and we can follow His example of acting as an ideal householder. However, Śrīla Prabhupāda strictly warns that it is impossible—and highly offensive—for a conditioned soul to imitate Kṛṣṇa's extraordinary pastimes, such as lifting Govardhana Hill or dancing with the gopīs in the rāsa-līlā.
