- Our Krsna consciousness movement is directed with this understanding (to preach only devotional service, not encouraging karmis, jnanis and yogis), and therefore the asuras always try to suppress it

- The karmi's activity is on upadhi. "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am Hindu," "I am Muslim," "I am Christian." With this upadhi, we are acting. But bhakti means without upadhi. Sarvopadhi-virnirmuktam. Activity without upadhi
- The karmi, jnani or yogi - in fact, everyone - worships Lord Visnu if he is actually expert in knowledge of the Vedas and Tantras

- The karmis, in order to achieve success within this material world, worship the various demigods
- The karmis, jnanis and yogis have their particular mentalities in the modes of nature, and therefore they are called itara or nondevotees. These itaras, including even the yogis, sometimes harass the devotees of the Lord

- The people of the world are very much harassed by so-called religious-principled svamis, yogis, karmis and jnanis, but none of these can show the right way to become elevated to the spiritual platform
- The point is to know Krsna, Vasudeva, as everything and surrender unto Him. Karmis do not know this
- The position of karmis is still more degraded. Their aim is to elevate themselves to the higher planetary systems. It is said, yanti deva-vrata devan: persons who worship the demigods are elevated to the heavenly planets

- The rascal means the Mayavadi, karmi, jnani, yogi, all they are rascals. It is our open declaration. So we have to give up the company of these rascals
- The result (of being capitalist) is that there is always a distressful situation. In contrast to these men are those influenced by the mode of goodness - the karmis and jnanis
- The results of such activities are temporary. As Krsna Himself proclaims in Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.23): "The fruits (of those who worship the demigods) are limited and temporary." The fruits of the activities of the yogis, karmis and jnanis are ephemeral

- The so-called learned scholars and philanthropists are actually karmis and jnanis, and some are actually misers engaged in sinful activity. All are condemned because they are not devotees of Lord Krsna

- The subtle laws exist for the karmis; if one becomes a devotee, he has no more obligations to the laws of karma
- The Supreme Lord is perfectly realized only by the devotees because they are above all pretensions. Those who are on the path of self-realization are generally classified as karmis, jnanis, yogis, or devotees of the Lord
- The transcendental bliss derived from devotional service, cannot be compared to the happiness derived by karmis by elevating themselves to the heavenly planets or by jnanis or yogis, who enjoy oneness with the supreme impersonal Brahman
- The transcendental planet known as Visnuloka is especially meant for devotees, not for karmis, jnanis or yogis

- Their (jnani's) position is a little higher than that of the karmis because the karmis have taken this material world as everything

- There are different types of men in this world, not all of them pure devotees. Some are karmis, desiring to acquire vast wealth. There are also persons who are only after reputation
- There are different types of satisfaction. Karmis are satisfied in their fruitive activities, jnanis are satisfied to merge into the effulgence of Brahman, and devotees are satisfied to engage in the Lord's service
- There are distinctions between an ordinary human being and the Supreme Lord. Karmis and jnanis who ignore these distinctions are offenders against the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- There are four classes of men, namely karmis, jnanis, yogis and bhaktas. This statement pertains especially to karmis and jnanis
- There are four different types of human beings - the karmis, the jnanis, the yogis and the devotees. The karmis are materialistic, whereas the other three are transcendental
- There are many competitors in ordinary business affairs, and the karma-kanda chapters of the Vedas sometimes cause competition and envy amongst karmis
- There are many karmis in the dress of devotees, but the Supreme Personality of Godhead can detect their purpose
- There are many karmis, yogis and jnanis who artificially try to compete with Krsna
- There are many mahatmas, many yogis, jnanis, karmis. They're all good. But if they do not approach the ultimate goal of life - means approaching Vasudeva - then srama eva hi kevalam
- There are many so-called devotees, but actually they are only karmis and jnanis, for they are not directly devotees of Lord Krsna
- There are rules and regulations because all these departments know it very well that any businessman or karmi, he is sure to commit sinful activities. Therefore there are so many regulations just to stop him as far as possible
- There are three classes of men. Akama, without kama, without any desire, that is devotees. And sarva-kama means the karmis, and moksa-kama - the jnanis. So whatever you may be, you can engage yourself in devotional service
- There are three classes of men. One class of men, karmis, they are trying to enjoy the material resources. Another class, they are rather frustrated. That is called nirvidya. And another class is akuto-bhayam, means one who does not fear
- There are two kinds of men in this world. One is karmi, and one is jnani. Karmis are trying to use up all the money of the world and utilize it for sense gratification. They are karmis, sarva-kamo
- There is a great difference between a bhakti-yogi and an ordinary karmi. Ordinary karmis cannot understand that the bhaktas are on the transcendental platform
- There is a gulf of difference between the punishment awarded by the mother and the punishment awarded by an enemy, so a devotee’s distress is not the same as the distress of a common karmi
- There is a steady competition among karmis attempting to advance in a wealthy society
- There is always competition amongst karmis, either in ordinary business affairs or in the performance of yajna. Lord Brahma's purpose was to end the competition between Lord Indra and Maharaja Prthu
- There will be so many impediments in pushing on our movement, therefore Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has already advised us to be tolerant more than the tree and humbler than the blade of grass and give all respects to Karmis without expecting any respect
- These karmis? They have no hope. Simply wild goat chasing, that's all. They do not know what is the aim of life. Na te viduh svartha-gatim hi visnum (SB 7.5.31). They do not know the real aim of life is to satisfy Visnu, svartha-gatim. Yajna
- They (karmis and jnanis) believe that since the Absolute Truth is impersonal, they can call Him by any name. Otherwise, they maintain, He has no name. This is not a fact
- They (karmis) are fools and rascals, because for illusory happiness for a moment, they are working so hard. Therefore they are rascal number one. How they can have peace? There is no question
- They (karmis) are trying to increase their bank balance and are hoping to be happy at a certain point, but that point never comes because they do not know the ultimate point of satiation
- They (Karmis) cannot understand how pure devotional service is rendered in parental and conjugal love, for this can be understood only by the special mercy bestowed by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu upon pure devotees
- They (karmis) may become big multimillionaires, but they are just like asses, working hard day and night. Regardless of how much money they may have, their stomachs can only hold so much
- They (karmis) require only six feet of space to sleep. Nonetheless, these big karmis are thinking themselves very important. They think, - Without me, all the members of my nation will die. Let me work day and night to the point of death
- They (karmis) work like asses, without any real aim of life
- They (karmis, jnanis, yogis, tapasvis who do not have Krsna consciousness) have no faith in approaching Him (Krsna) by discharging devotional service, although everywhere such service is repeatedly emphasized, as it is in this verse from SB - 11.14.20
- They're (Karmis) described in the sastra as sarva-kamo. Akamah sarvo-kama, moksa-kama udara-dhih (SB 2.3.10). So when Krsna says that sarva-dharman patityajya, sarva means, all
- This (achieving the highest perfection) is possible only by the association of a pure devotee, who can give a finishing touch to the transcendental activities of all jnanis, yogis, or karmis, in terms of prescribed duties defined in the scriptures
- This (nirakara) does not mean that the Supreme Personality of Godhead has no form; it means that it is not understood by the karmis, or fruitive actors
- This is the position of all karmis, including those who act piously and those who act impiously
- This kind of activity, sense-gratificatory activities, they are not karmis even. They are vikarmis. Because they are preparing their ground-adanta-gobhir visatam tamisram (SB 7.5.30) By such activities they are going to the darkest region of hell
- This Krsna consciousness movement means vairagya-vidya, to become detestful to this material world. Because we are not becoming detestful. The karmis, they are more and more becoming entangled: "Give me this, give me that, give me that"
- This movement recommends that one refrain from illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication. These are restrictions that karmis very much dislike
- This system (of hearing and chanting) is recommended in Srimad-Bhagavatam, & the six Gosvamis of Vrndavana followed it, but at the present moment many karmis and pseudo devotees have overcrowded the holy place of Vrndavana just to imitate this process
- This verse (SB 7.13.43) describes how a yogi can become free from material affection. Because of material attraction, a karmi cannot see himself
- Those who are above the karmis, that is, the jnanis, yogis and devotees, are strictly prohibited from sex indulgence
- Those who are desirous of gaining material profits by working are called karmis, or fruitive workers. All living entities within this material world have come under the spell of maya
- Those who are engaged in fruitive activities (karmis) attain the higher planetary systems as a result of their past activities & the jnanis, who seek unification or a monistic merging with the effulgence of the Supreme Lord, also attain their desired end
- Those who are karmis, jnanis or yogis are not actually fit to discuss Srimad-Bhagavatam. Only Vaisnavas, or pure devotees, are fit to discuss that literature
- Those who are karmis, very much attached to material activities, for them, this karma-yoga is recommended. Some way or other, be connected with Krsna. It is not so meant... It is very great achievement that you work hard earn money and give it to Krsna
- Those who are materially interested are called visayis (karmis), which indicates that they are very fond of sense gratification. Such visayis sometimes approach a famous guru and ask to become a disciple just as a matter of fashion
- Those who are on the path of self-realization are generally classified as karmis, jnanis, yogis, or devotees of the Lord
- Those who are rejecting, they are jnanis. And those who are karmis, they want more material enjoyment, more money, more money, more assets. The two classes of men. But a devotee is neither this class or that class
- Those who are trying to enjoy the senses to the utmost are called karmis, above them are the jnanis, who try to conquer the urges of the senses, and above them are the yogis, who have already conquered the senses
- Those who take pleasure in sense enjoyment, or those who are fixed in material bodily welfare work, are called karmis
- Thus a jnani is considered superior to a karmi because he at least refrains from the blind activities of sense enjoyment. This is the verdict of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Thus they (karmis) engage their energy in working very hard for such material acquisitions. Such materialistic people have lost their good intelligence. They must search out their intelligence within the heart
- To become karmi is the third-class stage of life. One has to make progress further, so that one may become self-realized, brahma-bhutah
- To have unrestricted sex life, the karmis work very hard. They have concluded that the best course is to have sex with any woman and simply pay the price for her, as though she were a mercantile commodity
- To say nothing of the karmis, the jnanis undergo severe austerities to attain the impersonal brahmajyoti, but because they do not find the lotus feet of the Lord, they fall down again into this material existence
- To the materialist his own blood is as sweet as honey, and although he is always harassed by his own material creations, he does not wish to escape. Such materialists are called karmis
V
- Vaisnavas preach only devotional service, not encouraging karmis, jnanis and yogis, because if one must liberate oneself from material, conditional life, one must ultimately become a Vaisnava
- Vasudeva and Ugrasena were the Lord's (Krsna) devotees, and Kamsa, a representative of the karmis and jnanis, was a nondevotee
W
- We are not idle preachers, we are working. All, very hard, more than the karmis
- What is recorded in the Hari-bhakti-vilasa strictly follows the Vedic scriptures and is certainly pure, but the attitude of the karmis is always one of giving up the conclusion of pure Vaisnava understanding
- What is the process of punishing others? Who are the actual candidates for punishment? Are all karmis engaged in fruitive activities punishable, or only some of them?
- What Krsna means, to understand, it is not so easy job. And again He said, He explains that bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah (BG 18.55). Only the devotees can understand. It is not the business of the karmis, jnanis, yogis
- When a karmi performs some ritualistic ceremony, his ambition is sense gratification - good position, good wife, good house, good children or good wealth - but the ambition of the members of the Yadu dynasty was different
- When one becomes inquisitive for the light activity, He's human being. He's called jnani. The karmis, they're in darkness. Their activity has no meaning
- When such a person (karmi) becomes a jnani, however, be aspires for liberation from material bondage
- When there is enforced acceptance for suffering, it is not a pastime. The Lord's pastimes and the conditioned living entity's acceptance of karmic reaction are not on the same level
- When they (so-called jnanis, yogis, karmis and tapasvis) say they are as good as we are, we must say that only we are good and that they are not good. This is not our obstinacy; it is the injunction of the sastras
- When you have got this center, it is not that you should be engaged from morning till you go to bed for sense gratification. That is not life. That is karmi's life. You have no time for sat-sanga, for association
- Whereas karmis are interested only in the personal satisfaction of their senses, devotees work for the satisfaction of the Supreme Lord
- Whether one is a karmi, jnani or yogi, if one wants a particular benediction fulfilled, even if it be material, one should approach the Supreme Lord and pray to Him, for then it will be fulfilled
- Who is peaceful? Only krsna-bhakta, devotee of Krsna. He is peaceful. Others? No. They cannot be peaceful. Why? Now, there is demand. The karmi is wanting to lord it over this material world
- Working hard, day and night, how to lord it over the material world. This is one dharma. Another dharma, when the karmi's frustrated, because he cannot enjoy . . . because he is not enjoyer
Y
- Yajno danam tapas caiva pavanani manisinam (BG 18.5): even one who is very much advanced in spiritual realization must still execute the Vedic principles. Even in the lowest stage, the karmis are advised to work for the sake of the Lord
- You (Visnudutas) are sinless, but those within this material world are all karmis, whether acting piously or impiously. Both kinds of action are possible for them because they are contaminated by the three modes of nature and must act accordingly
- You can see in my example, not a single moment is wasted. This idleness is the business of the karmis
- You cannot make any progress by this sort of karmi's life. We have to work for organization, but not that whole day and night engaged and no sat-sanga. That is a misguided policy, and it will spoil the whole structure
- You must get spiritual strength. Karmi strength will not help you
- Your choice, make your choice, which way. Again death or deathlessness. Stop death from you. This is human life. The karmis, jnanis, yogis, they're trying for death. There will be death. But for the bhaktas, devotees, there is deathlessness
