Śrīla Prabhupāda meticulously distinguishes between the mundane sense gratification enjoyed by conditioned souls and the supreme transcendental bliss enjoyed by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. As a strict sannyasi, the Lord completely rejected the enjoyment of material comforts, wealth, and female association. Instead, He relished the highest spiritual mellows by constantly engaging in congregational chanting and intimately discussing Kṛṣṇa's pastimes with advanced devotees like Svarūpa Dāmodara and Rāmanānda Rāya. Although He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Caitanya specifically descended to taste the ecstatic emotions of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī and the gopis in separation from Kṛṣṇa. Śrīla Prabhupāda strictly warns against the foolish imitators known as gaura-nagarīs, who commit offenses by treating Lord Caitanya as a direct male enjoyer, thereby disturbing His supreme enjoyment as a pure devotee.
