Real advancement in knowledge means discovering the purpose of life, the nature of the soul, and the Supreme Lord behind everything. Śrīla Prabhupāda repeatedly contrasts this with so-called material advancement, which may produce technology, weapons, universities, and comfort, but cannot solve birth, death, old age, disease, or the bondage of the living being. Knowledge becomes real when it leads to Kṛṣṇa, self-realization, surrender, and devotional service; otherwise it remains covered by māyā and misused for sense gratification. The quotes show that one must approach the ācāryas, hear from revealed scripture, and use knowledge to glorify the Lord. When knowledge is applied in Kṛṣṇa's service, it becomes purified, absolute, and truly beneficial for human society.
- Knowledge Must Reach Kṛṣṇa: The goal of knowledge is to understand God, not merely to improve eating, sleeping, mating, and defending. Human education becomes meaningful only when it leads to Kṛṣṇa consciousness.
- Material Advancement Cannot Solve Death: Scientific and technological knowledge may create impressive objects, but it cannot stop birth, death, old age, and disease. Therefore it cannot be accepted as complete advancement.

- A child can advance in foolishness without any guidance. If the child touches fire, and if somebody says: "This is advancement of knowledge," then imagine what is the position

- We invite all men and women advanced in knowledge to join the Krsna consciousness movement and sacrifice their lives for the great cause of reviving the God consciousness of human society
