Category:Awareness of a Devotee of God
Theme Analysis
The awareness of a devotee of God is a state of complete spiritual enlightenment granted by the mercy of the Lord. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that as soon as a devotee surrenders at the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, they become aware of the Vedic conclusion and the true nature of the Absolute. An exalted devotee like Mahārāja Ambarīṣa is in full awareness of Brahman, Paramātmā, and Bhagavān, as well as the workings of both the material and spiritual worlds. This awareness manifests as a lack of fear, because the devotee is conscious that the Lord protects them in all circumstances. Furthermore, a devotee sees with equal vision, aware that every living entity, from an ant to a demigod, is a part and parcel of the Supreme Lord.
- Enlightenment through Surrender: Simply surrendering to the Lord is the cause of all awareness. Like Dhruva Mahārāja, who became aware of the Vedic conclusion by the touch of the Lord's conchshell, a devotee is enlightened from within.
- Fearlessness and Protection: A devotee is never afraid because they are always aware that the Lord protects them. This conviction allowed Vidura to travel alone, unrecognized by friend or foe.
- Realized Vision: Exalted devotees are aware of the Lord's different potencies. They understand their oneness with the Absolute in quality, while simultaneously maintaining their eternal position as a servant.
- Comprehensive Knowledge: When a devotee sees the Lord face to face or through meditation, they become aware of everything within the universe. To such a pure soul, nothing is unknown.
