- Even if you go to the highest planetary system, Brahmaloka, then there also punar avartinah, means the four principles of material existence, namely birth, death, old age and disease, they will accompany you

- Foolish as they are, they neglect these major problems of life (such as repeated birth, death, disease and old age) and busy themselves with false things that cannot help them solve their real problems
- Foolish creatures, especially in this age of Kali, instead of knowing God scientifically, make propaganda against religious belief & the existence of God, even though they are always bound by God's laws by the symptoms of birth, death, old age & disease
- For a bewildered person in the materialistic way of life, the body, the mind and the senses, which are engaged in sense gratification, are the cause of bondage to repeated birth, death, old age and disease
- For sense gratification practically everyone is engaged in materialistic activities, which prolong the process of janma-mrtyu jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9) - birth, death, old age and disease
- For this purpose (to free ourselves from the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease), one must first be liberated from material bondage, and especially from household life
- Forgetting that however one may try to maintain the body, the body is subject to birth, death, old age and disease, such foolish rascals (influenced by passion and ignorance) engage in sinful activities, one after another
- Forgetting that in due course of time they (people) have to change their bodies according to the material laws and suffer the repetition of birth, death, old age and disease
G

- However you may be advanced in manufacturing so many nice things, you cannot manufacture anything which can save you from death or from disease or from old age. These primary principles of life should be understood
- Human being must have intelligence. But that intelligence is given to him for getting out of the clutches of birth, death, old age and disease. He's not utilizing that intelligence for that purpose, therefore duskrtina
- Human civilization is meant for finding a complete solution to these things - birth, death, old age and disease
- Human life is meant for finding a solution to this bondage of birth, death, disease and old age. If any civilization has not found a solution to these four problems, then that is not a human civilization
I

- If I am eternal, then why I shall remain in this material body which is subjected to death, birth, old age and disease? Therefore Krsna instructs that this miserable condition of life is due to this material body
- If one is at all interested in being freed from the bondage of repeated birth, death, old age and disease, after a certain age one must go to the forest. pancasordhvam vanam vrajet
- If somehow we are transported to a country where we are informed that we will no longer have to undergo birth, old age, disease, and death, will we not be happy? If we heard of such a place, surely we would try as hard as possible to go there
- If the real problems (birth, death, old age and disease) are there then what is the use of this science? Simply by advertisement?
- If we actually want to be cured from this diseased condition of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease, we have to abstain from this sinful life. So it is not difficult. It requires little knowledge
- If we want to put an end to this process of repeated birth and death, as well as the concomitant factors of old age and disease, we must try to enter the spiritual planets
- If you can understand Krsna, the result is that you stop the repetition of birth and death, old age and disease. That is very good
- If you do not surrender to Hari, then you cannot get release from these four principles of material life, namely birth, death, old age and disease. You cannot get
- If you have got determination that "We shall continue this life of birth, death, old age and disease and let loose our senses, do whatever you like," then there is no question of liberation
- If you understand that "This is my disease, repetition of birth, death, old age and disease," you'll have to sacrifice. Like you are sacrificing money for being cured from the diseased condition, similarly, sastra says this human life is meant for tapasya
- In any planet, you can raise yourself, you can elevate yourself, you can go there, but the four principles of material existence are there. What is that? Birth, death, disease and old age
- In BG, Krsna informs us that our real problem of life is death - birth, death, old age and disease. Birth is the beginning, and then, one who has taken birth, he must die. But if one does not take birth, then he does not die. This is the actual problem
- In Bhagavad-gita the Lord points out that a person who is serious about advancement in spiritual consciousness should always consider the four pangs of birth, death, disease and old age
- In India there is great agitation for birth control in various mechanical ways, but birth cannot be mechanically controlled. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 13.9), birth, death, old age & disease are certainly the primary distresses of the material world
- In matter there are material miseries, and thus in the first realization of Brahman there is the negation of such material inebrieties, and there is a feeling of eternal existence distinct from the pangs of birth and death, disease and old age
- In the evening people go to restaurants and cinemas and waste time and money at clubs and dances. They are not aware of the fearful situation of birth, old age, disease and death
- In the human form of life if we come to senses, that "Why I shall accept repetition of birth, death, old age, disease and so many miserable conditions?" then that is called sense. That is intelligence
- In the human form of life one should take the opportunity to put an end to birth, death, old age and disease by performing tapasya. This is the aim of human civilization: to stop the repetition of birth and death
- In the human form of life, if we are actually intelligent, we shall try our best how to get that life or body where there is no more death, birth, old age and disease. So this Krsna consciousness movement means to educate people for that purpose
- In the material sky, even if we approach the highest planet (Brahmaloka), we will find the same conditions of life, namely birth, death, disease and old age. BG 1972 Introduction
- In the material universe not even Brahma is free from the process of birth, old age, disease and death. BG 1972 purports
- In the material world there are birth, death, old age and disease, but in the spiritual world there are no such things because everything is eternal
- In the spiritual sky the planets are called Vaikuntha because the residents of these planets are free from all anxieties. For them there is no question of birth, death, old age and diseases, and therefore they are not anxious
- In the spiritual world the body does not change; there is no old age, there is no birth, there is no death. There all exists in oneness. BG 1972 purports
- In this body, our consciousness being advanced, if we try, we can understand what is the problem of life, why we have accepted birth, death, old age and disease, how to get out of it, how to revive our original nature of body and again become eternal
- In this way (by performing devotional service to God) one can give up material desires, and as soon as one is freed from material desires, he is free from the repetition of birth and death, old age and disease
- In this way we undergo the tribulations of birth, old age, disease and death. The dogs and cats cannot understand this process, but we can understand it in human life through the Vedic literatures
- Is placed (anyone who understands the transcendental appearance and disappearance of God) in the eternal spiritual sky where the Vaikuntha planets are. There such liberated persons can eternally live without the pangs of birth, death, old age and disease
- It has been said: harim vina na mrtim taranti. Without taking shelter of the lotus feet of the Personality of Godhead, one cannot attain relief from the clutches of maya, the repetition of birth, old age, disease and death
- It is not that because you are born in a very rich family, you'll be immune from diseases. It is not that you'll not become old. It is not that you'll be saved from the troubles of birth or you'll be saved from the troubles of death
- It is only we, Krsna conscious people. We are teaching. - Stop your this cycle of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. Come to eternal life and blissful life
- It is recommended that before the next death, if we come to the right conclusion how we shall become happy, then this process of continuously dying and again taking birth and again disease and again old age, then it is not very good
J
- Janma-mrtyu jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam (BG 13.9). The body is subject to its own principles of birth, death, old age and disease, but one who is situated in spiritual life (yato bhaktir adhoksaje) has no birth, no death, no old age and no disease
- Janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam (BG 13.9). Intelligent persons should always keep in view that, these are my real sufferings
- Just as Lord Brahma undergoes birth, old age, disease and death, so also a small ant or insect undergoes the same process. The point is that the living entity has to be free from this bondage because he is by nature eternal
- Just like our Krsna consciousness movement. We are trying to teach this perfection of life - how to become free from these four kinds of miserable condition: birth, death, old age and disease
K
- Krsna consciousness movement is so beneficial that He wants to benefit the whole human society how to stop this process of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. My Guru Maharaja came for this purpose & we are also trying to follow his footstep
- Krsna consciousness movement means we are teaching people how to get out of this entanglement of birth, death, old age and disease and become as good as God
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita - You have solved all your problems by your so-called scientific advancement; that is all right. But where is your solution of janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi, repetition of birth, death, old age & disease? Where is your solution
- Krsna says that, "You cannot make any solution of these problems." What is that? Birth, death, old age and disease, that is not possible. So we are happy by false happiness, this is called Maya. This is culture, this is Indian culture
- Krsna says that: Your real suffering is these four things, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9): repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. Actually this is your problem
- Krsna says, "This is knowledge." If you are scientifically advanced how to stop death, how to stop birth, how to stop old age, how to stop disease, then you should know that you have advanced in science
- Krsna says, even if you go to the Brahmaloka, that is also not security that you get rid of the four principles of material life, birth, death, old age and disease. A-brahma-bhuvanal lokah punar avartino 'rjuna. Again coming down
M
- Man may, by scientific advancement, improve the temporary living conditions, but that he cannot avoid the pangs of birth, old age, disease and death
- Many subjects have been discussed in this chapter (BG 7): the man in distress, the inquisitive man, man in want of material necessities, knowledge of Brahman, Paramatma, liberation from birth, death & diseases, & worship of the Supreme Lord. BG 1972 pur
- Material scientists have discovered many facilities for sense enjoyment and destruction, but they have discovered no solution to the problems of old age, disease, and death. They cannot make any machine that will check death, old age, or disease
- Modern scientists and philosophers do not think about these four things: birth, death, disease, and old age. They set them aside. - Oh, let us be happy. Let us enjoy this life
- Mundane existence is itself a kind of fear because in all mundane bodies the effects of birth, death, old age and disease always keep a living being compact in fear
- My birth and death is disease. You have to cure this disease. That is your problem, real problem. But they are not serious about curing . . . solving this real problem, birth and death
- Mystic powers can make a yogi materially powerful and thus give temporary relief from the miseries of birth, death, old age & disease, as other material sciences can also do, but mystic powers can never be a permanent source of relief from these miseries
N
- Narada Muni asked King Pracinabarhisat what he desired to attain by performing so many costly sacrifices. Even if one attains a heavenly planet, he cannot avoid the distresses of birth, old age, disease and death
- No one in this material world has become free from the four principles birth, death, old age and disease, even by fleeing to various planets - SB 10.3.27
- No one is interested in inquiring about this matter (Why one is forced to suffer the threefold miseries of material life). Moksa, liberation, means getting free from the threefold miseries of life as well as birth, old age, disease and death
- Nobody can make any solution of these sufferings (birth, death, old age and disease). But if you want real solution, permanent solution, permanent life, then you become attached to Krsna. Simple method
- Nobody cares to understand that the soul is eternal. It is changing, transmigrating from one type of body to another body. And there are 8,400,000 species or types of body, and we have been entrapped in this cycle of birth, death, old age and disease
- Not knowing that eternal time is passing away imperceptibly and that their measured duration of life is diminishing every second, without any solution to the big problem, namely repetition of birth and death, disease and old age. This is called illusion
- Now people are very busy trying to find petroleum in the midst of the ocean. They are very anxious to make provisions for the future petroleum supply, but they do not make any attempts to ameliorate the conditions of birth, old age, disease and death
O
- On some planets the duration of life is much longer than on this earth, but death is there. Those who are Krsna conscious, however, transcend this material life of birth, death, disease and old age
- One can attain this stage of perfection (no birth, old age, disease and death) very easily by his individual effort. He can simply follow, in his own home, the prescribed method of bhakti-yoga. This method, under proper guidance, is simple and enjoyable
- One can avoid this entanglement of birth, death, old age and disease simply by becoming Krsna conscious
- One is forbidden to regard the guru as an ordinary human being (gurusu nara-matir. .. naraki sah). The spiritual master, or acarya, is always situated in the spiritual status of life. Birth, death, old age and disease do not affect him
- One may be very proud of his material advancement in knowledge, but he cannot be immune to the four principles of material existence, namely birth, death, old age and disease
- One might think that he has solved all the problems of his life, but where is the solution to these four problems of birth, death, old age and disease? That solution is Krsna consciousness
- One must surrender unto the Lord to be saved from the wheel of repeated birth, death, old age and disease
- One should know that he is suffering in birth, suffering in death, suffering in old age and suffering in disease, and one should be inquisitive as to how he may avoid the suffering. That is real research work
- One should not become father, one should not become mother, if the parents cannot give protection to the children from the danger of birth, death, old age and disease
- One should try to understand the distress of accepting birth, death, old age and disease. There are descriptions in various Vedic literatures of birth. BG 1972 purports
- One who cannot save me from the impending danger of birth, death, old age and disease, he is not my father, he is not my teacher, he is not my guru, he is not my kinsman, he is not my wife, he is not my husband
- One who is intelligent should be eager to solve these four principal problems - birth, death, old age and disease. No one wants to die, but there is no remedy. Everyone has to die
- One who knows the plenary features of the Personality of Godhead knows Godhead properly, and thus the knower becomes freed from the material conditions of birth, death, old age and disease, as it is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita
- One who wants to approach the supreme planet, Krsnaloka, or any of the other planets within the spiritual sky, will not meet with these material inconveniences (of birth, death, disease and old age). BG 1972 Introduction
- One's situation in any of the many material planets is still subject to the laws of material nature, namely birth, death, old age and disease
- Other humanitarian or welfare societies are trying to give some patchwork. They cannot give relief to the stringent laws of nature: birth, death, old age and disease. But we are giving the final cure of the disease of condition of material existence
- Our conception of healthy life is not to become too much fatty, or robust body. Robust body or fatty body or any body, this body, everything will finish. Our proposition is that how to conquer death, birth, old age and disease
- Our cultivation of knowledge, advancement of civilization, should be on the basis of solving the main problems, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi, not the temporary problem
P
- People are embarrassed with so many problems of life, but the real problem of life is how to stop birth, death, old age and disease. So people are callous. They have become so dull-headed that they do not understand the problem of life
- People are increasing more and more and becoming under the clutches of maya. Clutches of maya means birth, death, old age and disease. This is maya's shackles, or ropes
- People do not recognize that the real distresses in life are the four principles of birth, death, old age and disease
- Prahlada, however, being situated above such instructions, did not like them, for such instructions are based on the duality of worldly affairs, which involve one in a materialistic way of life marked by birth, death, old age and disease
R
- Real education is how to solve the problems of life - birth, death, old age - and how to go back to home, back to . . . that is education. This is not education. This is simply waste of time
- Real knowledge means knowing that however great one may be, the four principles of material life are present: birth, old age, disease and death. These exist in the highest planetary system (Brahmaloka) and in the lowest - Patalaloka
- Real problem is how to stop the birth, death, old age and disease, and that is Vedic civilization, and that is depending on the brahminical culture
- Real purpose is moksa, how to become free from this entanglement of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. This is the real aim of life
- Real success is to get out of the clutches of maya, means this material conditional life which comprehends birth, death, old age and disease
S
- Sanatana Gosvami said: "I do not know what is independence. I am dancing like dog, how independence I can get, that I do not know." Real independence is: birth, death, old age and disease. When we get free from these 4 problems, that is real independence
- Sastra says - One should not be guru if he cannot deliver the disciple from the chain of birth, death, old age and disease
- Simply by understanding the Supreme Lord, one goes beyond birth, death, old age and disease. Srila Sukadeva Gosvami advised Maharaja Pariksit in Srimad-Bhagavatam - in SB 2.1.5
- Simply jugglery-of-words theories, what will help? Stop death, stop birth, stop disease, stop old age, then I shall understand your scientist. That is not in your command
- Since Krsna is not subject to birth, death, old age or disease, and since we are part and parcel of Krsna, we also are not subject to birth, death, old age and disease
- Skyscrapers, and many millions of motorcar, but you have to think whether you have solved the real problem. The real problem of life is birth, death, disease and old age. Not that to live in a high skyscraper our problems of life is solved. No
- So long we are in this material encagement we are supposed to be impurified. Because we are not purified, therefore we have to accept birth, death, old age and disease
- So long we have got this material body the problems of birth, death, old age, and disease will continue. Therefore, to help the devotees when they're in bodily ailments is also a great great service
- So long you have not solved the four prominent miserable condition of life - birth, death, old age and disease - you cannot say there is no God
- So long you'll continue to have this material body, there cannot be any happiness. And so many problems. The main problem is birth, death, old age and disease. So this is due to this material body
- Spiritual level means to cure his material disease. The material disease is birth, death, old age and disease. So these things can be overcome by Krsna consciousness
- Spiritual life means pure life, and material life means contaminated life. Just like we have got this body, material body. This is impure body. Therefore we suffer from disease, we suffer from old age, we suffer from birth, we suffer from death
- Spiritual life means putting an end to birth, old age, disease and death. Getting amrta, nectar, means getting relief from birth and death, and that is the real aim of spiritual life
- Spiritually, when you get your spiritual body, there is no such material inconveniences. The material inconveniences means so long you have got this material body, you are subjected to birth, death, old age and disease
- Such foolish prisoners cannot see that however they improve their position by artificial means, the calamities of repeated birth, death, disease and old age are always beyond the jurisdiction of their control
- Suppose that by good action I get a good birth, fine bodily features, and a good education. All these good things I may have, but that does not mean that I am free from material pains. The material pains are birth, death, old age and disease
T
- Temporary I have got some misunderstanding with some friend, or temporary I do not get some nice food, and therefore suffering - these sufferings are extra, but real suffering is this - janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi
- That (Krsna Consciousness) is a great science one has to learn, how to make these problems (birth, death, old age and disease) solved. But here is the medicine, or here is the solution for all these problems
- That intelligence (why to accept repetition of birth, death, old age disease and so many miserable conditions) can be developed in human form of life, and if we do not do, then the same example: just you use the sandalwood for burning purpose
- That is (negation of material inebriety; feeling of eternal existence free from birth, death, old age and disease) the primary conception of impersonal Brahman
- The ant has got also the same punishment - birth, death, old age and disease - as you have got. You are also criminal; he is also criminal. But he is also son of God; you are also son of God. This is Krsna consciousness
- The atheists want to forget these miseries (birth, old age, disease and death), and therefore they like to think that there is no life after death. They are like ostriches, who stick their head in the ground when an enemy approaches
- The birth, death, old age and disease are the inconveniences of the body. The spirit soul has no birth, no death, no old age and no disease, neither the spirit soul is annihilated after the destruction of this body. Na hanyate hanyamane sarire
- The body is just like an instrument by which the living entity moves according to false desires for happiness and thus suffers the pangs of birth, death, old age and disease in different standards of life
- The calamities of birth, the calamities of death, the calamities of old age, the calamities of disease, they are already there. And above that, the calamities of war, pestilence, famine, earthquake and so many other things
- The centers of the Krsna consciousness movement are the only established hospitals that can cure man of birth, death, old age and disease
- The chief problems of life are collectively birth, death, old age and disease. Bhagavad-gita gives information how to solve these four problems. It is the essence of all Vedic knowledge presented by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna
- The clutches of maya subjects one to repeated birth, death, old age and disease
- The father, the spiritual master and the king are not to become irresponsible in the matter of leading their subjects to the path of ultimate liberation from birth, death, diseases and old age
- The following details outline a general practice by which one can prepare himself for an easy journey to the Vaikuntha (anti-material) planets, where life is free from birth, old age, disease and death
- The four principles of material existence means birth, death, old age and disease. We can manufacture many medicines, many weapons, many means, many methods, but you cannot escape these four principles of material existence, however great you may be
- The four principles of material inebrieties, namely birth, death, old age & disease, nobody has been able to check it in the past history of human society, and how you can believe that in future these problems, will be solved by the advancement of science
- The great sage Narada Muni has a spiritual body; therefore old age, disease, birth and death do not affect him
- The history of the world has factually proved that attempts to increase economic development for bodily comfort through the advancement of material civilization have done nothing to remedy the inevitability of birth, death, old age and disease
- The influence of time is exhibited by the symptoms of birth, death, old age and disease, and these four principles of material conditions are present everywhere in any part of the material cosmos up to the planet Brahmaloka
- The inhabitants of those planets (the spiritual planets) are liberated from birth, death, old age and diseases and have full knowledge of everything; they are all godly and free from all sorts of material hankerings
- The Krsna consciousness movement introduced by Lord Caitanya is extremely important because one who takes to it becomes eternal, being freed from birth, death and old age
- The law of nature, however, does not allow anyone immunity from old age, disease or death. Nor has the advancement of material knowledge solved these problems
- The laws of material nature impose this punishment (as birth, old age, disease, and death) upon the living entities who have forgotten the Lord and who are busy making plans for lasting happiness in this desert of distress
- The living entities come to this material world in the spirit of enjoyment, but because they want to enjoy without Krsna (krsna-bahirmukha haiya bhoja-vancha kare), they suffer birth, death, old age and disease under the control of the illusory energy
- The living entity is eternal, but somehow or other, when in contact with the material energy, he is subjected to the repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. The physicians of the modern day should learn from Murari Gupta
- The Lord does not bestow material blessings upon the devotees, for they may be entrapped again in this material world by continuous birth, death, old age and disease
- The main problem confronting the conditioned souls is the repetition of birth, old age, disease and death
- The material body is symptomized by birth, death, old age and diseases, but the spiritual body is conspicuous by the absence of those symptoms
- The material body, which is subject to birth and death, diseases and old age, is the cause of all sufferings of the living being, otherwise the living being is eternal; he is never born, nor does he ever die
- The material distresses are birth, old age, disease and death, but those who are interested in pravrtti-marga hold various religious functions at the time of birth, old age, disease and death
- The materialist is ailing, and he should consult an expert transcendentalist-physician. What is his ailment? He is suffering the tribulations of repeated births, deaths, diseases and old age
- The modern civilization is trying to transcend the pangs of material life, namely birth, death, old age and diseases, by advancement of material knowledge, but actually this advancement is only binding them more tightly into the material concept of life
- The modern scientists, they are giving us so many facilities to get out of some material difficulties but that is temporary. That is not actually vimukti. Actual vimukti is to get freedom from birth, death, old age, and disease
- The modern so-called scientist, they cannot make any solution for birth, death, old age and disease; therefore they have left them aside: "Oh, don't care for them." That is ignorance
- The person in knowledge, he must see that, I cannot avoid death, I cannot avoid birth, I cannot avoid old age, I cannot avoid disease so long I have got this material body
- The phrase birth after birth refers to the material world because in the spiritual world there is no birth, death, old age or disease
- The problem is birth and death. But nobody wants birth and death. Nobody wants. But it is there on account of our material life. So in the material life there are four problems: birth, death, old age and disease
- The problem is how to become free from the four principles of birth, death, old age and disease
- The problems of material existence - birth, old age, disease and death - cannot be counteracted by accumulation of wealth and economic development. BG 1972 purports
- The real disease is the material condition, in which we have to suffer birth, death, disease and old age
- The real problem is birth, death, old age and disease, and if you can solve this problem simply by practicing some regulative principles, why don't you do it?
- The real problem is how to get free of birth, death, old age and disease. This cannot be solved by simply wasting time traveling within this universe. Even if one goes to the highest planet, this problem cannot be solved, for there is death everywhere
- The real problem of life in the material world is to solve the question of birth, death, old age and disease
- The real problem of life is birth, death, disease and old age. Not that to live in a high skyscraper our problems of life is solved
- The real way is to stop these four functions of my conditional life. The four functions of conditional life means birth, death, old age and disease
- The residents of the material planets are always afraid of birth, death, disease and old age, and therefore they are full of anxieties
- The result is that this bondage of birth and death, disease and old age comes to an end. This end is in union with the true identity, Krsna, the reservoir of pleasure and eternal bliss. There, indeed, is the true happiness for which we are intended
- The solution to these problems (birth, old age, disease, and death) is given here in Bhagavad-gita (8.15): if one attains to Krsna's platform he does not have to return again to this earth of birth and death
- The spirit soul is actually sac-cid-ananda (BS 5.1) - eternal, full of bliss and full of knowledge. Under the clutches of maya, however, he suffers from continued birth, death, disease and old age
- The spirit soul is nonetheless understood to be eternal, because he is never subject to the ordeals of birth, death, disease, and old age or to any other physical transformations
- The suffering of death, suffering of birth, suffering of disease and suffering of old age - these are imposed on the living entities, those who are criminals. Criminals means revolted against the service of the Lord
- The sum total of suffering is birth, death, old age and disease. This is due to this body. Therefore the problem is how to stop this material body, repetition
- The Vedic civilization's destination is to go back to Godhead, back home, where there is no birth, no death, no old age and no disease
- The Vedic literatures describe that in Satyaloka there is no birth, death, old age or disease. In other words, since Satyaloka is situated next to Brahmaloka, or the Brahman effulgence, it is almost as good as Vaikunthaloka
- The whole spiritual life means to stop this birth, death, old age and disease; to get amrta, no more birth, no more death. That is the real aim of spiritual life
- The whole Vedic process is meant for that purpose, to purify the existence of the living being so that he can be saved from the repetition of birth, death, old age and disease
- The whole Vedic process is meant to save the wandering living entities from the clutches of maya - birth, death, disease and old age. This means stopping the cycle of birth and death. This cycle can be stopped only if one worships Krsna
- There are prominent problems: birth, death, old age and disease. There is no science which has solved these problems
- There is a big problem (old age and death), and they cannot solve it, and still they (scientists and philosophers) are proud of their advancement of knowledge. How much foolish they are, just consider
- There is no birth, death, old age and disease for the spiritual body, so one who attains a spiritual body, becomes one of the associates of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engages in eternal devotional service, is really liberated. BG 1972 purports
- There is no birth, death, old age and disease. That eternal land is full of transcendental enjoyment and full of beauty and bliss. This very fact is also corroborated in this verse of SB (2.6.18) and the transcendental nature is described as amrta
- There is no science, there is no philosophy, there is no education throughout the whole world that the aim of life is to stop these four things: birth, death, old age and disease. They cannot think of. Yes? Birth can be stopped?
- These (birth, death, old age and disease) problems, are pertaining to this body. The soul is different from this body. This is our misunderstanding
- These (birth, old age, disease and death) are under the control of the Supreme Personality of Godhead through the agency of material nature. A foolish person cannot understand this simple fact
- These are the major problems (birth, death, old age and disease) of human existence, but we ignore them and concentrate on solving very minor problems
- These questions must arise: Why am I suffering? Wherefrom have I come? What is my constitutional position? Where shall I go after death? Why am I put into a miserable form of life? Why are there birth, death, old age and disease
- These sufferings (ultimate sufferings) are pointed out in Bhagavad-gita as janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi: (BG 13.9) birth, death, old age, and disease. What have we done to nullify these sufferings? There is no remedy for them in the material world
- They (People) do not know the real problem. The real problem is... It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita: janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9), birth, death, old age and disease. This is real problem
- They (scientists & philosophers) are avoiding the major problem (death and old age), and still their problem is civilization, advancement of knowledge. Just see their stupidity
- They (Vaikunthalokas) are full of transcendental bliss, and are without birth, death, old age and disease
- They are happy in those planets and are without any kind of misery and they live perpetually in full youthfulness, enjoying life in full bliss and knowledge without fear of birth, death, old age or disease, and without the influence of kala, eternal time
- They give up the reaction of work, being situated in the platform of consciousness. And the result will be that janma-bandha-vinirmuktah, this bondage of birth and death and disease and old age, he becomes free from that
- This (neglecting the real discomforts of birth, death, old age, and disease) is our ignorance and our foolishness, and therefore Krsna comes to wake us up from this ignorance and take us back home, back to Godhead
- This (stopping samsara) can be done only when one is Krsna conscious, or has achieved the service of the lotus feet of the Lord. Otherwise one must rot in this material world and accept a material body subject to birth, death, old age and disease
- This birth, death, old age, disease, this is due to this unclean, infected, material body. That we are not concerned, that how to stop this infected material body, how to revive our original spiritual body
- This disease means birth, death, old age and disease. So as soon as you accept this material body, you become subjected to the four laws of material nature
- This human form of body is a chance to think of whether there is any way out of this entanglement of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. This is Krsna consciousness movement
- This is real suffering. Why the eternal soul should be subjected to birth, death, old age and disease
- This is the chance, human form of life, to practice this (tapasa, brahmacarya, samena, damane, tyagena, satya, saucabhyam, yamena and niyamena) and cure the disease of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease
- This is the description of Vaikuntha features. So always young. There is no old age, disease or birth and death. Here in this material world these four things are there: birth, death, old age and disease
- This is the real problem (birth, death, old age and disease). It is not "What shall I eat?" The birds and beasts have no such problem. In the morning they are immediately chirping, "Jee, jee, jee, jee." They know that they will have their food
- This is Vedic contraception, that if you are competent to give instruction to your children how to avoid the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease, then you become father. Otherwise don’t become father, don’t become mother
- This material body doesn't endure eternally, everything in relation with this temporary body, such as the wife, children, society and country, changes along with the change of body. This is called samsara or repetition of birth, death, old age & disease
- This question must arise. - Wherefrom I have come? What is my constitutional position? Where I shall go after death? Why I am put into this miserable condition of life? Why there is birth, death, old age, disease? I do not want all of them
- This repetition of birth, death, old age and disease, this is just like a fire in the forest. Nobody wants it but it is forced up on us. Just like nobody wants to set fire in the forest, but it takes place naturally
- Those who are servants of Krsna, the Supreme Lord, are not interested in any planets in this material world because they know that on whatever planet one enters in the material sky, the four principles of birth, old age, disease, and death are present
- To stop death, birth, death, old age, is very major problem, but even in small things you cannot do anything. Everywhere you are dependent. And still, they are very much proud that they are advancing in scientific knowledge
- To take birth in a nice place or a high family does not mean that one avoids undergoing the material tribulations, the pangs of birth, death, old age and disease
- To us everything material, without connection to Krsna, is to be rejected as stool, otherwise we will waste valuable time needed to solve the real problems of life, namely, birth, death, disease, and old-age
- Transcendental, glorified activities of Lord Sri Krsna are the prescribed remedy for counteracting the process of birth, death, old age and disease, which are considered to be material awards for the conditioned living being
U
- Under illusion people think that material opulence will save them, but although there has been much advancement in material science, the problems of human society - birth, death, old age and disease - are still unsolved
- Unless we have a pessimistic view of this material life, considering the distresses of birth, death, old age and disease, there is no impetus for our making advancement in spiritual life. BG 1972 purports
W
- We are being attacked moment after moment by one thing after another, yet people close their eyes to birth, old age, disease and death
- We are busy trying to arrange for temporary comforts in this life, but we are neglecting the real discomforts of birth, death, old age, and disease
- We are consciousness. Now, some way or other, we are in contact with this matter. Therefore our freedom is checked. As spiritual beings, we are free, free to act, free to have anything, pure, no contamination, no disease, no birth, no death, no old age
- We are hearing from authorities like Lord Krsna. He says, na jayate na mriyate va kadacit: My dear Arjuna, a living entity does not take birth. There is no birth, death, old age, disease of the spirit soul
- We are imperfect. Whatever I may be, you may be, but if I am subjected to birth, death, old age and disease, then I am imperfect. Therefore the perfectional..., perfection of life is when you haven't got to take birth or die or become diseased and old
- We are not interested in any material comforts of life which are limited and temporary. We are interested in solving the real problems of life, birth, death, old-age, and disease
- We are talking on the Srimad-Bhagavatam. The subject matter is how one shall transfer himself from this material world to the spiritual world and thereby stop birth, death, old age and disease. This is the whole subject matter
- We are teaching people that "Don't bother about your economic condition of life. It will come automatically, what you are destined to obtain. You better utilize your energy how to get out of this condition of life, birth, death, old age and disease"
- We are teaching, "Stop your this cycle of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. Come to eternal life and blissful life." So we are the only friends. All are enemies even in the shape of friend or father or teacher - enemies
- We are trying to enlighten humanity so that people may come to the understanding that they should work hard in tapasya for self-realization and freedom from the continuous bondage of birth, death, old age and disease in one body after another
- We can stop your birth death old age and disease. This is the greatest welfare activities to the human society
- We do not understand even that there is possibility of amrtatvam. But everything is possible. Amrtatvam. Nobody wants to die. That's a fact. Nobody wants to become old man, nobody wants to become diseased. This is our natural inclination
- We have become so dull that we cannot avoid birth, old age, disease and death. We are actually experiencing them because we are not alert
- We have become subject to these illusory (as birth, death, old age and disease) problems because of our forgetfulness of Krsna and our position as His eternal servants (jivera 'svarupa' haya-krsnera 'nitya-dasa') - CC Madhya 20.108
- We have got all the information, that what is the spiritual world, what is the material world, why we are in the material world, why we are subjected under birth, death, old age and disease. So as we go on hearing, nityam bhagavata . . . in the Bhagavata
- We have to prepare ourself for the next moment of our death. People forget it. Janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi
- We may go to the moon planet, but that will not solve our real problem. The real problem is birth, death, old age and disease
- We may solve all these problem, the problem of material existence, birth, death, old age and disease, that cannot be stopped, either you become Brahma or something like that. That is not possible. That is possible only by Krsna consciousness
- We must not be concerned with pious activities or impious activities. We must be concerned with transcendental activities only. That will save us from this bondage of birth, death, old age and disease. That should be our aim in life
- We should come to understand that despite having all these facilities (aristocratic family, wealth, good education or a beautiful body) for material life, we are not free from birth, old age, disease and death. To caution us of this, Sri Krsna warns in BG
- We take bitter medicine just to cure our existence. Similarly, at the present moment, our existence is impure. Therefore we have to accept birth, death, old age and disease on account of impure existence. Otherwise, we are spirit soul, we are eternal
- We want the supreme benefit. Supreme benefit is that you are now entangled in the process of birth, death, old age and disease in the material existence. The real benefit is how to save yourself from these four difficulties
- We would like to find a solution for all these problems (birth, death, old age and disease) of life, but we do not know the way
- What is the impurification of existence? The impurification of existence is this birth, death, old age and disease. Janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam (BG 13.9). Everyone is inclined to live, but nature will not allow you to live
- What is the mission of our life? The mission of life is to get out of the cycle of birth and death and old age and disease
- When consciousness is displayed through the medium of the subtle and gross material bodies, it is covered, but when the consciousness is purified, in Krsna consciousness, one becomes free from the entanglement of repeated birth and death
- When religion, economic development and sense gratification are adjusted, liberation from this material birth, death, old age and disease is assured. In the present age of Kali, however, there is no question of religion and liberation
- When the embodied being is able to transcend these three modes (goodness, passion, and ignorance), he can become free from birth, death, old age, and their distresses and can enjoy nectar even in this life - BG 14.20
- When the embodied being is able to transcend these three modes, he can become free from birth, death, old age and their distresses and can enjoy nectar even in this life. BG 14.20 - 1972
- When the Supreme Personality of Godhead appears no such causes (as suffering birth, death, old age and disease under the control of the illusory energy) are involved; His descent is an act of His pleasure potency
- When we are able to put an end to these (birth, old age, disease and death), we are liberated. This simply requires that we clear our consciousness by thinking of Krsna
- When you get your spiritual body, there is no such material inconveniences. The material inconveniences means so long you have got this material body, you are subjected to birth, death, old age and disease
- Wherever one goes on earth, he finds the same visa and customs systems operating, and on all the material planets one can similarly see the principles of birth, old age, disease, and death operating
- Wherever there is the influence of eternal time, there is this set of tribulations, namely birth, disease, old age and death, and all of them are invincible
- While in the material world we manufacture so many duties in the name of so many isms, but our actual duty is to free ourselves from the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease
- Who has got this knowledge, how to save one from the cycle of birth, death and old age? It is only we, Krsna conscious people. We are teaching, Stop this cycle of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease. Come to eternal life and blissful life
- Whole this bhakti-yoga or any yoga, the whole system is purification. Tapo divyam yena suddhyet sattvam (SB 5.5.1). Our existence is now impure. Therefore we have to accept birth, death, old age and disease
- Whole Vedic civilization is meant for stopping these problems, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi
- Why don't you see the real unhappiness? This is real duhkha, or unhappiness. What is that? Janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi. You have to die. You have to take birth within the womb with so much risk that even your mother can kill you. Is it very happiness?
- Why they (medical science) are neglecting these problems (birth, death, old age and disease)? What is their remedy for these problems? Is there any remedy for these four things?
- Without becoming a devotee of the Lord, one cannot perfect one's human life. The perfection of human life is to be elevated to the spiritual world, where there is no birth, no death, no disease and no old age
- Without becoming devata he'll be entangled. He'll be entangled. He'll have to. He has to continue this four process of birth, death, disease, and old age. That he has to
- Without caring for the distresses of birth, old age, disease and death, they (those interested in pravrtti-marga) are addicted to performing the special functions according to the Vedic ritualistic ceremonies
Y
- Yes, it is worst. Because I am spirit soul, I am now imprisoned with this material body. It is my unnatural state, and I am eternal, and because I have accepted this material body I have to undergo birth, death, old age and disease
- You are bowing down to everyone. You are bowing down to death, you are bowing down to disease, you are bowing down to old age. You are bowing down to so many things. You are forced. And still you are thinking that "I cannot bow down. I don't like"
- You are falsely thinking that "I am everything. I can, by technological understanding, I improve the condition." But the real problem is, we are put under the laws of material nature, by which we have to accept birth, death, old age and disease
- You are reading Bhagavad-gita. You just try to understand what is the real problem. The real problem is birth, death, old age and disease
- You are trying to solve the problems of life, but the real problem is that there is death, there is birth, there is old age and there is disease. This is real problem
- You are very much proud of your knowledge, but if you want to be at all a man of knowledge, a man of wisdom, then you should first of all keep before you the problems of birth, death, old age and disease
- You have got this opportunity of understanding your position and get out of the difficulties of birth, death, old age and disease. If you do not properly use this opportunity and again you become cats and dogs, then are you not misled?
- You may be very much proud of your scientific advancement of knowledge, but here is the real science. If you can overcome birth, death, old age and disease, then you can say your science is triumphant
- You may challenge, "Where is the unhappiness? We are very happy." Madmen. Krsna points out, "No, it is not place of happiness." Why it is not place of happiness? Now, janma-mrtyu-jara vyadhi
- You may have solved all other problems. Very good. But what about your birth, death, disease and old age? These are the intelligent questions. We have to answer. We have to make solution
- You may make very much advance in scientific knowledge, but there is no solution, by your so-called science, of these four problems: birth, death, old age and disease. There is no solution
- You may think that you are very scientifically advanced - "There is no more distress in my life" - but Krsna says: "No. If you are intelligent, then you should think of these four principle as distresses." What is that? Birth, death, old age and disease
- You should become a perfect human being. Purify your existence. Why you are subjected to birth, death, old age and disease? Because we are impure. Now, if we purify our existence, then there will be no such thing as birth, death, old age and disease
