To be convinced about Kṛṣṇa means to recognize Him as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all opulences, and the ultimate cause of all causes. A person who is factually convinced of the Lord's absolute supremacy transcends theoretical knowledge and attains the platform of a paramahaṁsa. This firm conviction is synonymous with the perfection of surrender (śaraṇāgati). According to Vedic guidelines, one of the primary characteristics of a surrendered soul is the absolute certainty that Kṛṣṇa is their sole protector. A convinced devotee abandons all independent attempts for self-preservation, harboring no doubt that within the three worlds, there is no maintainer other than the Supreme Lord. This unwavering faith liberates the soul from the anxieties of material existence and fixes the mind firmly on the lotus feet of the Lord.
Furthermore, true conviction naturally breeds compassion. A self-realized devotee's greatest ambition—whether they are situated in heaven or hell—is to convince others to surrender to Kṛṣṇa. This is the primary business of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. By distributing transcendental books and presenting logical, scriptural truths, devotees strive to convince atheists, impersonalists, and innocent souls alike of Kṛṣṇa's supreme position. Even Lord Kṛṣṇa Himself exhibited the terrifying universal form (viśva-rūpa) to Arjuna not for Arjuna's personal benefit, but specifically to convince future generations of impersonalists of His undeniable supremacy.
