- Maharaja Ambarisa performed all the items of devotional service. He first of all engaged his mind upon the lotus feet of Krsna. He engaged his words, his power of speaking, in describing the transcendental qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Maharaja Ambarisa's hands were engaged in cleansing the temple, and his ears were engaged in hearing about Krsna

- O Maharaja Pariksit, while the cowherd boys, who knew nothing within the core of their hearts but Krsna, were thus engaged in eating their lunch in the forest, the calves went far away, deep into the forest, being allured by green grass - SB 10.13.12
- One should offer humble obeisances to the devotee who has undergone spiritual initiation (diksa) and is engaged in worshiping the Deity

- Purpose of Lord Krsna's servants is to reclaim the conditioned souls from the field of sense gratification and return them to the normal stage of engaging the senses in service of the Lord

- Raghava Pandita was formerly a confidential gopi in Vraja during the time of Lord Krsna’s pastimes, and his former name was Dhanistha. This gopi, Dhanistha, always engaged in preparing foods for Krsna
- Rukmini continued, "Great saintly persons like Narada Muni are always engaged simply in glorifying Your transcendental characteristics. Someone who simply takes shelter of such a saintly person immediately becomes freed from all material contamination"
- Rupa Gosvami wrote: Because due to His (Caitanya's) inspiration I feel the desire within my heart to write something about devotional service. For this reason I am engaged in writing this book on the science of devotion known as Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu

- Sakhyam. In regard to worshiping the Lord as a friend, the Agastya-samhita states that a devotee engaged in performing devotional service by sravanam and kirtanam sometimes wants to see the Lord personally, and for this purpose he resides in the temple
- Sanat-Kumara said, "My dear King, the false ego of a human being is so strong that it keeps him in material existence as if tied up by a strong rope. Only the devotees can cut off the knot of this strong rope very easily, by engaging themselves in KC"

- Sevonmukhe hi jihvadau svayam eva sphuraty adah: when a devotee engages his senses favorably in devotional service, the Lord, through His causeless mercy, reveals Himself to the devotee. This is the conclusive Vedic process

- Srila Sukadeva Gosvami said: My dear King, in Kimpurusa-varsa the great devotee Hanuman is always engaged with the inhabitants of that land in devotional service to Lord Ramacandra, the elder brother of Laksmana and dear husband of Sitadevi
- Srimad-Bhagavatam says, "A pure devotee has no more doubts about the supremacy of the Personality of Godhead, and thus he engages himself in Krsna consciousness and devotional service"
- Such an attitude (of a devotee who thinks that everything is Krsna's mercy) is possible for a devotee who engages in the service of Krsna's representative. This is the secret of success

- That Brahma engaged himself for the Personality of Godhead, Narayana, means that he engaged himself in the service of the Lord; that is the highest penance one can perform for any number of years
- The bhakta, simply by engaging himself in the bhakti process, especially in chanting Hare Krsna, immediately develops control over the tongue by engaging it in chanting, and accepting the remnants of foodstuff offered to the Personality of Godhead

- The senses are compared to poisonous snakes, but the senses of a bhakta engaged in the service of the Lord are like snakes with their poisonous fangs removed

- These principles (austerity, cleanliness and mercy), indicated by the prayers of the four Kumaras, should be followed by the devotees who are engaged in Krsna consciousness
- They (pure devotees) completely surrender unto Him and engage in Krsna consciousness, devotional service of the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- They (The devotees of the Supreme Personality of Godhead) are happy simply engaging in the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- They (the Kumaras) prayed to the Lord that even in the hellish condition of life their minds might not be distracted from the engagement of service to the lotus feet of Lord Narayana
- Third-class devotee engages in devotional service according to the directions of the spiritual master, or engages out of family tradition, and worships the Deity of the Lord, but he is not cultivated in knowledge of devotional service
- This business of sleeping devotees should stop. What is the use of such sleeping devotees, simply increasing the expenditures. All of them must be engaged
- This is the first duty of the spiritual master, to engage the devotees in arcana-marga. Sri-vigraharadhana-nitya. Cleansing the temple, dressing the Deity, decorating with flowers, so that devotees, as soon as see smiling Krsna, they become pleased
- This position of our subordination should always be maintained and we should always give respect to our pure devotees who are engaged, in devotional service, that will make us able to make a progressive march in the devotional line

- Those who are in the mode of goodness think that each and every person is God, and thus they laugh at the pure devotees, who try to engage in the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- Those who are pure devotees do not aspire for any concession, and out of spontaneous love try to engage themselves in devotional service 24 hours each day, 365 days every year, without any stoppage
- Those who are sadhavah, or devotees engaged in Krsna consciousness in the transcendental service of the Lord, do not feel the contamination of material miseries

- Unfortunately, those entrusted with distributing Vedic knowledge, such as the devotees engaged in spreading Krsna consciousness, may sometimes be attacked by demons
- Unless Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu discloses the fact, no one can understand who is actually a great devotee of the Lord engaged in His service
- Upon making this decision (to retire from government service and join Lord Caitanya's sankirtana movement), the two brothers (Sanatana Gosvami and Rupa Gosvami) at once took steps to leave their material engagements

- Whatever material opulence is within his possession he engages to expand the glories and service of the Lord
- When a devotee is actually engaged in the service of the lotus feet of the Lord, his engagement in itself is so perfect that there is no need to ask for further benediction
- When a devotee is engaged in the service of the Lord, it is called the attainment of yoga
- When a devotee no longer has any desire for material sense gratification, in his spiritual identity he engages in the service of the Lord, for his dormant spiritual consciousness awakens. This awakening of spiritual consciousness makes his body spiritual
- When a person is fully engaged in devotional service, he is favored by the Lord, who bestows His causeless mercy. At such a time, the awakened devotee gives up all material activities and ritualistic performances mentioned in the Vedas
- When mother Yasoda and Rohini were unable to protect the babies (Krsna & Balarama) from calamities threatened by horned cows, by fire, by animals with claws and teeth they were always in anxiety, & their household engagements were disturbed - SB 10.8.25
- When one becomes above the gunas by devotional service . . . guna means quality. A devotee is on the position of first-class human society because a devotee is engaged in devotional service
- When one engages in preaching work, he must distinguish between people and understand that some people are not engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. The preacher then has to take compassion upon such innocent people
- When one's desire to love Krsna in his particular relationship becomes intensified, this is known as pure love of Godhead. In the beginning a devotee is engaged in the regulative principles of devotional service by the order of his spiritual master
- When Yasoda & Rohini were unable to protect the babies (Krsna & Rama) from calamities threatened by monkeys, dogs & cats, & by thorns, swords & other weapons on the ground, they were always in anxiety, & their household engagements were disturbed - SB 10
- With the first complete engagement, one becomes automatically detached from material contamination, and liberation becomes the maidservant of the devotee
