Category:God's Conducting
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the Supreme Personality of Godhead as the ultimate conductor of all cosmic and individual activities. In the material world, conditioned souls falsely believe they are the independent doers, but Śrīla Prabhupāda clarifies that every action—from the macrocosmic creation, maintenance, and annihilation of universes to the microcosmic movements of an ant—is conducted entirely under the Lord's superintendence. As Hṛṣīkeśa, the Lord is the sole conductor of the senses, and as the Paramātmā (Supersoul), He directs the wanderings of all living entities, awarding them different bodies just as a train conductor assigns seats based on a passenger's ticket. The material world, known as Devī-dhāma, is conducted by the Lord's external energy, which subjects the rebellious souls to the miseries of birth and death. Conversely, the Lord's own divine pastimes, whether executing the Battle of Kurukṣetra, acting as the ideal king in rāma-rājya, or performing saṅkīrtana as Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, are conducted by His internal spiritual energy (yogamāyā). Recognizing God as the supreme conductor cures the illusion of material independence.
- The Cosmic Conductor: Although material nature appears to act independently through physical laws, the creation, maintenance, and annihilation of the cosmic manifestation are personally conducted by the Supreme Lord.
- Hṛṣīkeśa, Master of the Senses: The living entity has no independent power to act. The Supreme Lord is the only active principle and the sole conductor of the senses.
- The Supersoul's Direction: From Lord Brahmā down to the insignificant ant, every living being is conducted by the Paramātmā sitting in the heart. The Lord acts like a train conductor, awarding the conditioned soul a specific body according to their desires and karma.
- The External Energy (Devī-dhāma): Miseries such as birth, old age, disease, and death only occur when the living entity falls under the jurisdiction of the Lord's external material energy, which conducts the material world.
- Conducting Divine Pastimes: The Lord's personal activities are never under the influence of material nature. His pastimes are entirely orchestrated by yogamāyā. Even historical events like the Battle of Kurukṣetra or the ideal government of rāma-rājya are directly conducted according to His flawless plan.
