The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate source of all provisions, both material and spiritual. According to Śrīla Prabhupāda, the Lord is the supreme father who gives all living entities their necessities of life. Because He provides everything—from the seeds of life to the daily grains we eat—it is the duty of every human being to feel gratitude and acknowledge His mercy by offering their food back to Him as a sacrifice (yajña). However, the Lord also respects the minute independence of the conditioned souls. If a living entity forgets God and desires to enjoy the material world, the Lord gives them a particular type of mechanical body according to their karma. He gives orders to material nature to arrange these facilities, and if a soul stubbornly insists on acting sinfully, the Lord, acting as the neutral Supersoul (Paramātmā), gives sanction, allowing the soul to act at their own risk.
While the Lord gives material facilities to the fruitive workers, His profoundest gifts are reserved for those seeking spiritual truth. At the dawn of creation, the Lord gave the original Vedic knowledge. When He descends into the material world, His primary purpose is to give solace to His devotees and to give humanity complete information about the anti-material, spiritual world.
For the sincere devotee, the Lord gives the greatest gift of all: internal enlightenment. Situated within the heart, the Lord gives the aspiring soul the direction to approach a bona fide spiritual master. As the devotee progresses, the Lord gives them the specific spiritual intelligence (jñāna-dīpa) required to navigate through material obstacles and remain fixed in unalloyed devotional service. Ultimately, for those who fully surrender, the Supreme Lord gives the final, perfect instructions on how to go back home, back to Godhead.

- Vyasadeva is incarnation of Krsna, so he has given us the Vedic literature. Therefore his name is Vedavyasa, incarnation of God. Maha-muni-krte kim va paraih (SB 1.1.2). There is no need of speculating. Just follow Vyasadeva in the disciplic succession

- When He (God) appears, His main purpose is to give solace to His devotees
