The concept of good fortune in the material world is heavily misunderstood. Conditioned souls often become falsely puffed up, claiming that their wealth, education, and beauty are the results of their own hard work. The Lord is especially eager to bestow His blessings upon His pure devotees. When great devotees like Dhruva Mahārāja and Prahlāda Mahārāja executed pious vows and faced severe trials, the Lord personally appeared before them, affectionately declaring, "All good fortune unto you." Therefore, the most intelligent course of action for any suffering living entity is to take shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. By hearing, chanting, and offering prayers, one attracts the supreme benediction of the Lord, culminating in the ultimate good fortune: an eternal life in Vaikuṇṭha in the blissful association of the Absolute Truth.
