Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes Lord Kṛṣṇa as svayam bhagavān, the original Supreme Personality of Godhead and the ultimate source of all incarnations, including Lord Nārāyaṇa and Mahā-Viṣṇu. Śrīla Prabhupāda systematically explains that the name Kṛṣṇa means "the all-attractive one." He is not a formless void; rather, He possesses an eternal form of bliss and knowledge (sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha). By His causeless mercy, Lord Kṛṣṇa descends into the material world in every millennium to protect His pure devotees, annihilate demonic elements, and reestablish the principles of religion. As the supreme controller of both the spiritual and material energies, He is the ultimate object of all Vedic knowledge and sacrifices. Unlike the awe and reverence found in the Vaikuṇṭha planets, Lord Kṛṣṇa's pastimes in Vṛndāvana display the highest intimacy of rāga-bhakti, where devotees love Him spontaneously as a friend, son, or lover. The absolute conclusion of the Bhagavad-gītā is that by abandoning all other engagements and surrendering exclusively to Lord Kṛṣṇa through pure devotional service (bhakti-yoga), the conditioned soul is freed from all sinful reactions and returns back to Godhead.
- The Original Supreme Person: Lord Kṛṣṇa is the original, primeval Lord. He is the complete Godhead, full in all six opulences, and the ultimate shelter of everything in existence.

- A devotee in an immature position of devotional service may, if offered great opulence, fall from his position due to being in the material world, the Lord (Krsna) does not offer opulence to him

- In the nineteenth and twentieth incarnations, the Lord advented Himself as Lord Sri Balarama and Lord Sri Krsna in the family of Vrsni (the Yadu dynasty), and by doing so He removed the burden of the world
- In the prayers of Kunti in the Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 1.8.18), it is said that the Lord is covered by the curtain of yoga-maya and thus ordinary people cannot understand Him. BG 1972 purports
- In the spiritual sky or the material sky, everyone engages in the service of Lord Krsna
- In the Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 9.4.57), the Lord says: The devotees are always in My heart, and I am always in the heart of the devotees. The devotee does not know anything beyond Me, and I also cannot forget the devotee. BG 1972 purports
- In the Vayu Purana there is a description of Sadasiva in one of the Vaikuntha planets. That Sadasiva is a direct expansion of Lord Krsna’s form for pastimes

- It is recommended that whatever one's position - whether one demands no material profit, all material profit or ultimately liberation - one should offer his obedient devotional service to the Lord, and one will get what he desires. Krsna is so kind

- Karma is not created by Krsna, or God. You create your karma
- Kaviraja Gosvami gives an accurate description of Lord Krsna, the SPG, by stating that although no one is equal to or greater than Him and He is the reservoir of all spiritual pleasure, He nevertheless appears as the son of Maharaja Nanda and Yasodamayi
- Knowing this (that Krsna is the shelter of all manifestations), Sridhara Svami worshiped and offered his obeisances unto Krsna as the shelter of everything
- Krsna does not need to come to punish the petty demons, but when there are great demons like Ravana, Hiranyakasipu and Kamsa, the Lord comes as Lord Ramacandra, Lord Nrsimha-deva or Sri Krsna to punish them
- Krsna has appeared as the son of mother Saci, and Balarama has appeared as Nityananda, and Their business is to deliver all fallen souls, especially in this age, Kali-yuga
- Krsna is always integrated with His other incarnations, like Nrsimhadeva, Varaha, Vamana, Nara-Narayana, Hayagriva and Ajita. In Vrndavana Lord Krsna sometimes exhibits the functions of such incarnations
- Krsna is always situated in His original position as sac-cid-ananda-vigraha (BS 5.1), and anyone who renders service to Him is also situated in his original, spiritual identity. This is the highest perfection of human life

- Lord Krsna advised Arjuna : "If you want to be perfect, just always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your obeisances to Me. In this way you will understand Me, the PG, & ultimately you will come back to Me, back to Godhead, back home
- Lord Krsna and His friends went to the forest to play with the cows, and it is said that the boys who accompanied Krsna enjoyed transcendental friendship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- Lord Krsna urges that one give up all other duties and surrender to Him, and He promises, aham tvam sarva-papebhyo moksayisyami: "I shall free you from all sinful reactions and give you liberation
- Lord Krsna's conclusion is that devotional service is independent of any other process (such as cultivation of knowledge, renunciation or meditation)
- Lord Krsna, indebted to the Pandavas' devotional service, sometimes acted as their messenger, and He guided them through many dangerous situations. Therefore Maharaja Pariksit should not have been saddened because Lord Krsna did not appear in his family
- Lord Krsna’s father, mother and household affairs are all displayed in the same visuddha-sattva existence

- Maharaja Pariksit might have been thinking that the Kuru dynasty was not as fortunate as the others because the Supreme Lord did not appear in that family, neither as Krsna, Lord Ramacandra, Lord Rsabhadeva or Maharaja Prthu
- Mudha means rascal. It is said in the Gita, Only rascals think of Lord Krsna as an ordinary person. They do not know what Lord Krsna's position is or what His transcendental potencies are

- Namo maha-vadanyaya krsna-prema-pradaya te (CC Madhya 19.53). Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is so merciful that He not only gives knowledge of Krsna but by His practical activities teaches everyone how to love Krsna - krsna-prema-pradaya te
- Nanda & mother Yasoda are the eternal father & mother of Krsna. This means that whenever Krsna descends, Nanda & Yasoda, as well as Vasudeva & Devaki, also descend as the Lord's father & mother. Their personalities are expansions of Krsna's personal body
- Narada Muni explained to Maharaja Yudhisthira that by entering Krsna's body, Sisupala reentered Vaikunthaloka as the Lord's associate. Everyone had seen this incident
- Narada Muni therefore advised Vyasadeva that one should take to Krsna consciousness, devotional service, and abandon all ordinary occupational duties. This advice was also given by Lord Krsna Himself
- No one but the Lord Himself can teach this highest form of devotional service - transcendental loving service

- O Lord, the demigods say, "the impersonalists, who are nondevotees, cannot understand that Your name is identical with Your form." Since the Lord is absolute, there is no difference between His name and His actual form
- O mother earth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, incarnated Himself as Lord Sri Krsna just to unload your heavy burden. All His activities here are transcendental, and they cement the path of liberation. You are now bereft of His presence
- O my Lord! O infallible Supreme Person! When a person wandering throughout the universes becomes eligible for liberation from material existence, he gets an opportunity to associate with devotees

- O supremely powerful one, You have always appeared in Your forms as the various incarnations to punish the demons as soon as they become very powerful. You appear as Lord Vamanadeva, Lord Rama and Lord Krsna
- On other planets the inhabitants are more advanced, and therefore the pastimes the Lord (Krsna) performs there are still more wonderful
- One can love Krishna without any inquiry; that is the highest perfection. To know Krishna as God is not so exalted a position as to love Krishna without knowing. That is the highest perfection. Knowledge means discrimination
- One may conclude that the Gita confirms the living entity to be only one of the multi-energies of Krsna; and when this energy is freed from material contamination, it becomes fully Krsna conscious, or liberated. BG 1972 purports
- One should also offer a flame, incense and so on (to the deity of Lord Krsna), while ringing a bell, as prescribed. This is called worship of the Lord

- One who always thinks of Krsna must attain vimukti, special salvation as the Lord's personal associate, not necessarily in Vrndavana, but at least in Vaikuntha. This is called sarupya-mukti
- One who blasphemes the Lord is put into a family of asuras, in which there is every chance of forgetting the service of the Lord
- One who does not chant the holy name of Visnu (Krsna), who does not bow down to the Deity of Visnu, and who does not remember the lotus feet of Visnu is punishable by Yamaraja
- One who learns the faithful service of Lord Krsna through the Krsna consciousness movement will always remain in Vaikunthaloka and have nothing to do with the material world
- One who understands the activities of the Lord in truth is transferred to the spiritual world after he gives up his material body
- Our business is to glorify Krsna as the Lord of Vrndavana and to popularize Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's Hare Krsna Movement
- Our Krsna philosophy is God, soul, and Vedanta philosophy, that is also God. So Buddha philosophy different from Vedanta philosophy and Krsna philosophy
- Our preaching is based on krsnas tu bhagavan svayam (SB 1.3.28). They don’t agree. They say we are sectarian. Isn’t it? Their only aim is, how can Krishna be God? We have our God, he is God, he is God, everyone is God. That we won’t agree

- Pariksit Maharaja, being naturally a devotee of Krsna, wanted to hear more about Lord Krsna
- Partially explaining the position of Lord Krsna and partially covering the facts, Garga Muni indicated, Your (Nanda Maharaja's) son is a great personality, and He can change the color of His body in different ages
- Physical presence is not essential; presence by message is real touch. Lord Krishna is present by His message. We feel always the presence of our past Acharyas simply by their immutable instructions. I hope you will understand me right and do the needful
- Places of pilgrimage yield a special advantage for a devotee in quickly advancing his spiritual life. Lord Krsna lives everywhere, but still it is very easy to approach Him in holy places of pilgrimage because these places are inhabited by great sages
- Pure devotion means without any motive - "Krsna is my Lord. I am His eternal servant. It is my duty to serve" - no motive. That is pure devotion

- Reciprocations of loving affairs in ecstasy are possible only in Vrndavana. Therefore just after His (Krsna's) appearance as the son of Vasudeva, the Lord immediately left for Vrndavana
- Rupa Gosvami, in his Laghu-bhagavatamrta, has quoted from the Padma Purana, that Laksmi-devi, the goddess of fortune, after seeing the attractive features of Krsna, was attracted to Him, & to get the favor of Lord Krsna she engaged herself in meditation

- Sanatana Gosvami comments that because the desires of devotees whose attention is fixed on Krsna have already been fulfilled, the Lord's sidelong glances create variegated desires in relation to Krsna and devotional service
- Sangopangastra-parsadam indicates that Lord Caitanya is Lord Krsna. His body is always decorated with ornaments of sandalwood and with sandalwood paste. By His superexcellent beauty He subdues all the people of the age
- Simply addressing the energy of the Supreme Lord as Hare and the Lord Himself as Krsna very soon situates the Lord within the heart of the devotee. By thus addressing Radha and Krsna, one directly engages in His Lordship’s service
- Simply by seeing the form of the Lord as He presents Himself by His own internal potency as Krsna or Rama or Kapila, one can directly see the brahmajyoti, because the brahmajyoti is no more than the effulgence of His bodily luster

- Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura states that there are two types of karma-kanda activities - pious and impious. Pious activities are certainly better than impious activities, but even pious activities cannot bring about ecstatic love of God, Krsna
- Srila Jiva Gosvami explains that krsna-varnam means Sri Krsna Caitanya. Krsna-varna and Krsna Caitanya are equivalent. The name Krsna appears with both Lord Krsna and Lord Caitanya Krsna
- Srimad-Bhagavatam replies that in actuality all of these methods (karma-kanda & jnana-kanda) defined in the Vedas indicate the worship of the Supreme Lord Visnu. In other words, they are all indirect ways of worshiping the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Sukadeva Gosvami, having several times repeated the words vasudeva-parayana and narayana-parayana, finally says krsna-padaravindayoh. Thus he indicates that Krsna is the origin of both Narayana and Vasudeva

- That Ananta Sesa is the devotee incarnation of Godhead. He knows nothing but service to Lord Krsna
- The above-mentioned dhamas (Dvaraka, Mathura and Gokula) are movable, by the omnipotent will of Lord Krsna
- The aim of life is God realization, God realization, that "There is God, His name is Krsna, His address is Vaikuntha, His number is this, He has got so many friends, He has got so many lovers." Everything we are giving. But still, the rascal will not take

- The demigods and devotees, however, always surrender to the lotus feet of the Lord, and thus the Lord is always anxious to satisfy their ambitions
- The devotees cannot tolerate even the pricking of the Lord's lotus feet by a thorn. This was the attitude of the gopis when they thought of Krsna wandering in the forest, with pebbles and grains of sand pricking His lotus feet
- The dhamas and the Lord Himself, in His arca form, appear before us resembling matter to give us the facility to see spirit with material eyes. In the beginning this may be difficult for a neophyte to understand
- The example of Lord Krsna's being the Supreme Personality of Godhead is appropriate in regard to understanding the spiritual master

- The Lord can stay wherever He likes. Devaki, therefore, in accordance with the desire of her former life, now had the opportunity to seek the benediction of having the Supreme Personality of Godhead as her son, Devaki-nandana
- The Lord confirms in BG 9.4, mat-sthani sarva-bhutani: Everything is resting on Me. This indicates that everything is resting on His own energy. For example, the planets are resting within outer space, which is the separated energy of Krsna

- The Lord tells Arjuna, O Arjuna, merely be an instrument in the fight. Lord Krsna had the competence to win the Battle of Kuruksetra, but nonetheless He induced His devotee Arjuna to fight and become the cause of victory
- The Lord's acceptance of the role of a devotee in the eternal form of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is another of the Lord's wonderful features
- The Lord's forms are proof of His inconceivable qualities. Although the Lord maintains innumerable universes within the period of His breath, He is dressed with a form exactly like that of a human being. That does not mean that He is a human being

- The purpose of this verse (SB 7.1.26) is to emphasize that even the enemy of the Lord can be delivered, not to speak of His friend
- The purusam mahantam mentioned in the verse from the Svetasvatara Upanisad is Sri Krsna. His hands and legs are not mundane but are completely transcendental. However, when He comes, fools take Him to be an ordinary person
- The real purpose of studying the Vedas is to approach the lotus feet of Lord Krsna
- The sastras recommend: O great sage, among many millions who are liberated and perfect in knowledge of liberation, one may be a devotee of Lord Narayana, or Krsna. Such devotees, who are fully peaceful, are extremely rare

- Through Lord Caitanya we can become friends with Krsna, and there will be no limit to this friendship. We can become friends of Krsna not in awe or adoration but in complete freedom. We can even relate to God as His father or mother - CC Intro
- Through Lord Krsna's body, they (Jaya and Vijaya) returned to Vaikuntha, although they seemed to have attained sayujya-mukti in Krsna's body

- Unless one is favored by a devotee, he cannot understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Arjuna also confirms this in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.14): My Lord, it is very difficult to understand Your personality
- Unless one practices devotional service to the Lord, he cannot know Krsna as He is (tattvatah), even though one is a great scholar or philosopher. BG 1972 purports
- Usually God is seen as the almighty Father who supplies the demands of His sons. The great devotees, however, sometimes treat God as a son in their execution of devotional service

- Vasudeva and the three others are direct prabhava pastime forms of Lord Krsna. Of these quadruple forms, the pastime expansions are twenty in number

- We are all brahma. Brahma means spirit soul. You are brahma, I am brahma, everyone. Or you can say we are all God. But the greatest God is different. He is different. That is Krsna
- We are preaching that, "Chant the holy name of God." And if you haven't got any name of God, then you chant our conception of name of God, "Krsna." We don't say Krsna
- We often hear it said that God is infallible, and in BG Krsna states: When you see that there is nothing beyond these modes of nature in all activities and that the Supreme Lord is transcendental to all these modes, then you can know My spiritual nature
- Whatever their position, certainly Jaya and Vijaya always thought of Krsna. Therefore at the end of the mausala-lila, these two associates of the Lord returned to Krsna
- When Brahma came to see Krsna at Dvaraka, the doorman, at Lord Krsna's request, asked, Which Brahma are you? Later, when Brahma inquired from Krsna whether this meant that there was more than one Brahma, Krsna smiled and at once called for many Brahmas
- When he (Hiranyakasipu) became Sisupala, quarreled with Krsna and was killed, he attained salvation and merged into the body of Lord Krsna
- When Krsna comes the word maya refers to His compassion or mercy upon the devotees and fallen souls. By His potency, the Lord can deliver everyone, whether sinful or pious

- When Lord Krsna appeared just like a six- or seven-year-old boy in Vrndavana, He was approached by the residents there
- When Lord Krsna was of a very tender age, His hands & legs resembled soft new leaves, yet simply by touching the handcart with His legs, He made the cart fall to pieces. It was quite possible for Him to act in this way and yet not exert Himself very much
- When Lord Krsna went to the heavenly planets with His wife Satyabhama He took a parijata flower tree from heaven and brought it to the earth. There was a fight between Krsna & the demigods due to the parijata tree's being taken from heaven to this planet
- When Lord Sri Krsna Himself was personally present, He demanded that everyone surrender unto Him and promised that He would then give one all protection
- When one is actually on the platform of vidya, he can personally understand the Personality of Godhead in His forms like those of Lord Rama, Lord Krsna and Sankarsana
- When pure devotees of the Lord like Vasudeva are greatly disturbed by dangerous demons like Kamsa, Lord Krsna joins with all His pastime expansions, such as the Lord of Vaikuntha, and, although unborn, becomes manifest
- When service is rendered in affection, it is the Lord's special mercy. When service is rendered in veneration, it is doubtful whether Krsna's mercy is actually involved. If Krsna's mercy is there, it is not dependent on any prescribed caste or creed
- When the doorman informed Lord Krsna, It is four-headed Brahma, Lord Krsna said, Oh, four-headed. Call others. Show him. This is Krsna's position. For Krsna the four-headed Brahma is insignificant, to say nothing of four-headed scientists
- When the Lord (Krsna) says that He takes charge of His pure devotee, He actually takes direct charge
- When the Lord killed the gigantic demon Hiranyakasipu, He had to assume the special bodily feature of Nrsimhadeva. But in His Krsna avatara, the Lord did not need to exert such energy
- When the same potency (Krsna's internal potency) displays full knowledge it is called cit, or samvit, which expands the transcendental forms of the Lord
- Whenever the Lord punishes persons like demons, however, such punishment is meant for the good of the conditioned soul
- While I started this movement in America, some friend suggested that "You are writing 'International Society for Krishna Consciousness.' Why not make it 'God consciousness.' It will be accepted by everyone." God is Krishna
- Who understands the transcendental nature of the Lord's appearance, activities and disappearance can enter the spiritual kingdom to associate with the Supreme Personality of Godhead & reciprocate the hladini potency in transactions between him & the Lord

- Yet He is a person, and now by the grace of Kunti we can understand that this Supreme Person, although alaksyam, invisible, has now visibly appeared as Krsna
- You can manufacture your own order. That is going on. There is no conception of God. We have got clear conception of God. Here is God, Krsna. And He's giving orders. We accept it. And it is clear religion
