The philosophical essence of this category establishes the absolute supremacy and all-pervading nature of Lord Vāsudeva. As the primary expansion in the original catur-vyūha (Vāsudeva, Saṅkarṣaṇa, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha), He is the origin of the material and spiritual creations. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the name Vāsudeva indicates that the Lord lives everywhere; He is the Paramātmā (Supersoul) situated in the heart of every living entity and the ultimate enjoyer of all Vedic sacrifices (yajña). - A devotee is narayana-parayana, or vasudeva-parayana, which means that the path of Vasudeva, or the devotional path, is his life and soul

- Maharaja Ambarisa was a great devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vasudeva, and of the saintly persons who are the Lord's devotees. Because of this devotion, he thought of the entire universe as being as insignificant as a piece of stone

- O Supreme Personality of Godhead, greatest of all, who lives in everyone's heart and in whom everyone lives, O witness of everything, O Vasudeva, supreme and all-pervading person, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You
- On the top of the head is the temple called Vasudeva. This is the process of meditation on the Lord's situation in the different parts of the body, but for those who are not Vaisnavas, great sages recommend meditation on the bodily concept of life
- One can attain perfection simply by explaining the instructions, following in the footsteps of the acaryas or listening to the instructions with great attention. If one does so, one can attain the platform of pure devotional service to Lord Vasudeva
- One does not have to realize Paramatma by the yoga system, for the devotee always thinking of Vasudeva is the topmost yogi - yoginam api sarvesam - BG 6.47
- One may argue that the Vedic activities are based on sacrificial ceremonies. That is true. But all such sacrifices are also meant for realizing the truth about Vasudeva

- Paramatma (Vasudeva) is situated in everyone's heart, as confirmed in Bhagavad-gita. The Lord says: "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me" - BG 10.10
- Paramatma realization is but partial realization of Vasudeva, and if one is successful in that attempt, one realizes Vasudeva in full. But by ill luck most yogis are stranded by the powers of mysticism achieved through the bodily process
- Paundraka was promoted to the Vaikuntha planets, where the devotees have the same bodily features as Visnu, with four hands holding the four symbols (because he always thought of Lord Vasudeva by falsely dressing himself in imitation of the Lord)

- Rantideva fixed his mind upon Lord Vasudeva and rendered devotional service unto Him. This is the sign of a pure devotee, whose heart is not adulterated by material desires
- Rupa Gosvami says that these four expansions of Narayana (Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha) are present in the spiritual sky, where They are famous as Mahavastha

- Sankara says that he does not attempt to argue that portion of the devotees’ understanding, but he must protest the idea that Sankarsana is produced from Vasudeva, Pradyumna is produced from Sankarsana, and Aniruddha is produced from Pradyumna

- Worshiping the expansions for pastimes, such as Nrsimha, Rama, Sesa and Kurma, promotes one to the worship of the Sankarsana quadruple. From that position one is raised to the platform of worshiping Vasudeva, the Supreme Brahman

- Yoga means to get into touch with the SL. The process, however, includes several bodily features such as asana, dhyana, pranayama and meditation, and all of them are meant for concentrating upon the localized aspect of Vasudeva represented as Paramatma
- Yogis meditate upon the localized Paramatma situated in the heart, jnanis worship the impersonal Brahman as the Supreme Absolute Truth, and devotees worship Vasudeva, the Supreme Personality of God, whose transcendental body is described in the sastras
- You appear completely silent, having nothing to do, but this is due to Your all-pervading nature and Your fullness in all opulences. I therefore offer my respectful obeisances unto You
- You live everywhere as Paramatma; therefore You are known as Vasudeva. You also accept Vasudeva as Your father, and You are celebrated by the name Krsna. You are so kind that You always increase the influence of all kinds of devotees
