Category:God Is Superior
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the absolute supremacy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead over all living entities and material manifestations. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that while the minute living entities (jīvas) are parts and parcels of the Lord, they are perpetually subordinate. God is the infallible, all-great master of all masters, completely immune to the stringent laws of material nature that govern the conditioned souls. This understanding is the foundation of all religious principles and surrender (prapadye). Recognizing the Lord's superior intelligence, will, and creative power naturally leads the sincere soul to abandon rebellious material pursuits and engage in His transcendental loving service.
- The Master of All Masters: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate cause of all causes and the supreme living force. He is eternally superior to all conditioned souls and the entire cosmic manifestation.
- Superior to the Material Energy: Unlike the living entities who fall under the control of the material modes, the Lord remains completely aloof and transcendental. His actions and knowledge are never influenced by material inebrieties.
- The Foundation of Surrender: The process of devotional service (bhakti) is based on the acknowledgment of the Lord's absolute superiority. Without accepting that God is infallibly superior to the individual soul, true surrender is impossible.
- The Subordinate Jīva: Although living entities can create and manage things on a small scale using material energy, their creations and intelligence can never equal or surpass the supreme creative power and direction of the Lord.
