Category:God Is The Original Person

Theme Analysis

The philosophical essence of this category establishes that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ādi-puruṣa, the original person. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the Absolute Truth is not a formless void or an impersonal energy; He is the primeval Lord, Govinda. Although He is the oldest person and the original cause of all creations, He never ages. The Brahma-saṁhitā describes Him as nava-yauvanam, possessing an eternal form of ever-fresh youth. Everything in existence, including time itself and great demigods like Lord Brahmā, emanates from this supreme, intelligent person. Because the living entities are mere reflections or parts of the original person, they can only achieve true satisfaction and liberation from material entanglement by engaging in His loving devotional service.

  • The Ādi-puruṣa: The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the original person, possessing no beginning. He is the ultimate definition of the Absolute Truth from whom everything emanates.
  • The Origin of All: The original person is the primeval father and the ultimate cause from whom all living entities, including the first created being, Lord Brahmā, are generated.
  • Eternally Youthful: Unlike conditioned living entities who are subject to birth, aging, and death within material time, the original person never grows old. He eternally exhibits the form of a blooming youth.
  • The Path of Devotion: The original person cannot be fully understood through mental speculation. He is known only through unalloyed devotional service, which naturally frees the soul from material illusion.
