- Actually we see that we are conditioned, and there is no possibility to trace out the history. Many, many Brahma's life . . . not only one Brahma's; there are so many Brahmas changed, and we are conditioned. Therefore we are called eternally conditioned
- Again, when the entire universe is vanquished at the end of Brahma's lifetime, there is another avyakta state. But beyond these two unmanifested states is another unmanifested state, the spiritual atmosphere, or nature
- All the material planets-upper, lower and intermediate, including the sun, moon and Venus-are scattered throughout the universe. These planets exist only during the lifetime of Brahma
- Another twelve-hour (4,300,000 years multiplied by one thousand) period covers the night. Thirty such days equal a month, twelve months a year, and Brahma lives for one hundred such years
- As stated in Bhagavad-gita, Krsna appears not only in this millennium of Brahma's life, but in every millennium. Therefore worship of Krsna is conducted in all millenniums
- At the end of Brahma's life, selected personalities go back home, back to Godhead. Dhruva Maharaja is one of them
- At the end of every 4,320,000,000 solar years, when Brahma, the lord of one particular universe, goes to sleep, there is one annihilation. And at the end of Lord Brahma's life, which takes place at the end of Brahma's one hundred years of age
- At the time of the final devastation of the complete universe (the end of the duration of Brahma's life), a flame of fire emanates from the mouth of Ananta (from the bottom of the universe)
B
- Because of ignorance, we consider every life offered by nature to be happy and pleasing, but in the degraded life within this material world, from the life of Lord Brahma down to that of an ant, no one can actually be happy
- Brahma has to live for one hundred years; consequently, the total of Manus appearing and disappearing during the life of one Brahma is 504,000. This is the calculation for one universe, and there are innumerable universes
- Brahma returned to his residence, which is as important as his own personality. Lord Brahma is the creator of this universe and the most exalted personality within it. His lifetime is described in Bhagavad-gita - BG 8.17
- By these (BG 8.17) calculations the life of Brahma seems fantastic and interminable, but from the viewpoint of eternity it is as brief as a lightning flash. BG 1972 purports
E
- Eternal time is certainly the controller of different dimensions, from that of the atom up to the superdivisions of the duration of Brahma's life; but, nevertheless, it is controlled by the Supreme
- Eternal time is never lost along with the life of Brahma. It continues, but it has no ability to control the Supreme Personality of Godhead because the Lord is the controller of time
F
- Fifty years of the life of Brahma are already over, and fifty years are yet to be completed; then, for Brahma also, death is inevitable
- Five millions and four thousands of Manus are there in one Brahma's life. Five million and four hundred thousand of manvantaravatara, incarnation of Manu, in one brahmanda
- From this verse (CC Madhya 20.320) it can be calculated that in one month (30 days) of Brahma’s life there are 420 manvantara-avataras and that in one year (360 days) of his life there are 5,040 manvantara incarnations
O
- O descendant of Bharata, the first millennium in the second half of the life of Brahma is also known as the Varaha millennium because the Personality of Godhead appeared in that millennium as the hog incarnation
- One dissolution is at the end of Brahma's day, and one is at the end of Brahma's life. Brahma dies at the end of two parardhas, at which time the entire material universe is dissolved
- One dissolution takes place at the end of the life of Brahma. At that time all the planetary systems, including the heavenly systems, are dissolved in water and enter into the body of Garbhodakasayi Visnu
- One dissolution takes place at the end of the life of Brahma. At that time all the planetary systems, including the heavenly systems, are dissolved in water and enter into the body of Garbhodakasayi Visnu, who lies on the Garbhodaka Ocean
- One thousand yugas equals one day of Brahma. The duration of Brahma's life is extremely great, and consequently it was impossible for Hiranyakasipu to occupy that post
- One year of Brahma’s life consists of 360 such days and nights (8,64,00,00,000 solar years), and Brahma lives for one hundred such years. Such is the life of a Brahma
S
- Srila Narada Muni is giving a practical example from his past life. Formerly, during the previous lifetime of Lord Brahma, Narada Muni was one of the denizens of Gandharvaloka
- Such days and nights (four ages of earth) accumulate into months and years, and Brahma lives for one hundred such years. At the end of Brahma's life, the complete universal manifestation is vanquished
- Sukadeva Gosvami has already stated that such calculations (to understand the material universe) would be very difficult even if one had a duration of life like that of Brahma
T
- The demigod planets means their higher standard of life and span of life, more facilities, thousands and thousands - they are beyond our imagination. Just like Brahma, Brahmas life is described in the Bhagavad-gita, only one day: sahasra-yuga-paryantam
- The duration of a day in the life of Brahma is 4,320,000,000 solar years. This is stated also in the Bhagavad-gita. And for this same period Brahmaji rests at night in yoga-nidra within the body of the Garbhodakasayi Visnu, the generator of Brahma
- The duration of a day in the life of Brahma is 4,320,000,000 solar years. This is stated also in the Bhagavad-gita. So for this period Brahmaji rests in yoga-nidra within the body of the Garbhodakasayi Visnu, the generator of Brahma
- The duration of Lord Brahma's life is stated in Bhagavad-gita: sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh (BG 8.17). Even the duration of one day, or twelve hours, of Brahma is 4,300,000 years multiplied by one thousand
- The duration of one day of Brahma is one thousand times greater than the four yugas, aggregating 4,320,000 years. Similarly, Brahma's one night. Brahma lives for one hundred years of such days and nights
- The duration of one hundred years in the life of Brahma has already been discussed in many places in this work, and it is described in Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.17) also
- The duration of the two parts of Brahma's life, as above mentioned, is calculated to be equal to one nimesa (less than a second) for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is unchanging and unlimited and is the cause of all causes of the universe
- The durations of these breaths, which constitute a life of a Brahma, are described in BG as many trillions of earth years. One may say that this is all fictitious and imaginary, but unless one believes it, one has no right to touch BG
- The great sage Maitreya has given a considerable description of the time of different dimensions, beginning from the atom up to the duration of the life of Brahma. Now he attempts to give some idea of the time of the unlimited Personality of Godhead
- The Hare Krsna movement is present in every millennium of Lord Brahma's life, and the holy name is chanted in all the higher planetary systems, including Brahmaloka and Candraloka, not to speak of Gandharvaloka and Apsaroloka
- The life of Lord Brahma covers millions of earth years, yet he is also subjected to birth and death. That is the way of conditional life
- The lifetime of Brahma, who lives on the highest planet, is stated in Bhagavad-gita (8.17): sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh. We cannot calculate even twelve hours of Brahma with our mathematical figures, but even Brahma has to die
- The longest duration of one hundred years belongs to Brahma, but although the life of Brahma is very long, it expires in the course of time
- The one hundred years of Brahma's life are divided into two parts, the first half and the second half. The first half of the duration of Brahma's life is already over, and the second half is now current
- The reign of fourteen Manus equals the length of one day (twelve hours) in the life of Brahma, and the night of Brahma is of the same duration. These calculations are given in the authentic astronomy book known as the Surya-siddhanta
- The total duration of the four yugas is 4,300,000 years, and when that is multiplied a thousand times, it equals twelve hours in the life of Brahma
- The very short duration of the life of the mosquito and the very long lifetime of Lord Brahma are both awarded by the Supreme Personality of Godhead according to the results of their karma
- The whole life of Brahma is contained within one breath of Maha-Visnu - CC Intro
- The whole life of Brahma is contained within one breath of the Maha-Visnu. Thus it is not possible for us to imagine the breathing power of the Supreme Lord. That Maha-Visnu is but a partial manifestation of Krsna
- There are 420 Manus in one month of Brahma and 5,040 Manus in one year of Brahma. Brahma lives for one hundred years of his age, and therefore there are 5,040 x 100 or 504,000 Manus in the duration of Brahma's life
- There are a great number of spiritual planets in this atmosphere, and these planets exist eternally, even when all the planets within this material universe are vanquished at the end of Brahma's life
- There are fourteen Manus in one day of the life of Brahma, and in the life of each Manu there are particular incidents. The Vaivasvata Manu of Bhagavad-gita is different from Svayambhuva Manu
- There are other, very, very nice bodies in the higher planetary system - demigods. Their duration of life, their standard of life is very, very great. Just like Brahma's duration of life, you cannot calculate his one day
- There are two kinds of dissolutions, one during the night of Lord Brahma and one at the end of Lord Brahma's life
- They (ants) have also got the same feeling, affection and anxiety, everything. And the human being or the best human being is Lord Brahma in the topmost planet, whose life is millions and millions of years, he is also full of anxiety
- They (persons who are worshipers of Hiranyagarbha) remain within this universe on Satyaloka or other higher planets until the end of the life of Brahma. Then, with Brahma, they are elevated to the spiritual kingdom
- Thirty days make one month of Brahma, beginning from the full moon to the disappearance of the moon. Twelve such months complete one year, and fifty years complete one parardha, or one half the duration of the life of Brahma
- This long duration of life (Brahma's) may not be believed by "the frog in the well," but persons who have a realization of the truths mentioned in the BG accept the existence of a great personality who creates the variegatedness of the complete universe
- This process of creation began with the life of Brahma, and the creative principle is prevalent all over the material universe because of the quality of passion
W
- We can, however, simply abide by the text and understand that the present millennium is in the second half of the duration of the life of Brahma
- We cannot factually comprehend even twelve hours of Brahma's life, to say nothing of the one hundred years that constitute his entire lifetime. How, then, can we understand his abode
- We have already explained that we accept the authoritative statement of sastra. Now, Brahma's life is stated there. Arhat means his one day is equal to our four yugas
- We may calculate Brahma's month and year (Brahma's one day equals 1,000 yugas, each yugas consists of 4,300,000 years, similarly he has night of 1,000 yugas) but even Brahma, who lives for millions and millions of years (dvi-parardha-kala), also must die
- When Brahma's life is finally finished, they (the less intelligent jivas) are all annihilated and remain unmanifest for millions and millions of years. BG 1972 purports
- Whether he (living entity) takes the form of a man, demigod or animal, he ultimately has to endure an unmanifested condition during the two devastations - the devastation during the night of Brahma and the devastation at the end of Brahma's life
- Within one day's duration of the life of Brahma (which is calculated by our solar year as 4,300,000 x 1,000 years) there are fourteen Manus
