Śrīla Prabhupāda identifies a single, recurring diagnosis for all the failures and sufferings of modern civilization: the missing point is Kṛṣṇa. Despite extraordinary progress in science, technology, and material comfort, humanity remains deeply unhappy because the central purpose of life — to love and serve the Supreme Lord — has been forgotten. The innate propensity to love that exists in every living being is being poured into temporary objects and relationships. Until this love is redirected toward Kṛṣṇa, all arrangements for happiness remain fundamentally incomplete.
