Theme Analysis

Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the phrase "no consideration" applies to both the stringent laws of material nature and the supreme freedom of pure devotional service. In the material realm, the laws of nature and the agents of death, such as Yamaraja, act with absolute precision, making no consideration for a person's physical strength, worldly desires, or even their ignorance. Furthermore, in the degraded age of Kali-yuga, society operates with no consideration for genuine religious principles, family morality, or the actual qualifications of its leaders. However, on the spiritual platform, this concept takes on a glorious meaning. Because Kṛṣṇa consciousness is entirely transcendental, there is no consideration of material impediment. Pure devotional service is not restricted by time, place, circumstance, or mundane astrological calculations. A pure devotee simply executes the order of the Supreme Lord without any personal consideration or material calculation of what is good or bad, fully trusting in the supreme will of Kṛṣṇa.

  • The Unforgiving Laws of Nature: Material nature operates strictly. Fire will burn a child without any consideration of his innocence, and the time of death arrives without any consideration for a person's desires or muscular strength.
  • The Degradation of Kali-yuga: In the modern age, people act like animals, with no consideration for religious life. Society blindly elects leaders without any consideration for their actual fitness or spiritual qualifications.
  • Transcendental to Material Boundaries: Unlike ordinary religious principles that depend on time, place, and circumstance, pure devotional service has no such considerations. It is open to everyone, anywhere, at any time.
  • Devotee Marriages: Because devotees are transcendental, a marriage between a Kṛṣṇa conscious boy and girl does not depend on the consideration of mundane astrological horoscopes.
  • Surrender Without Calculation: A pure devotee executes Kṛṣṇa's orders without personal consideration. They do not pause to make material calculations of what is good or bad; they simply act for the pleasure of the Lord.
