- One should not consider that His (Krsna) dealings with the Pandavas are less important than His dealings with the gopis. We must always remember that the Lord is always transcendental to all mundane attachment
- One should not consider that when he is surrendering to Krsna he is surrendering to an ordinary man but to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Indeed, that is confirmed by all Vedic literatures
- One should not consider the Supreme Lord an ordinary human being. Material names and forms are contaminated, but spiritual name and spiritual form are transcendental
- One should not consider these transactions of transcendental service to be untruthful accusations. One should never accuse such devotees of being ordinary boys speaking lies, for they attained this stage of associating with Krsna by great austerities
- One should not consider Yamaraja an ordinary living being. He is as good as Lord Brahma. He has the complete cooperation of the Supreme Lord, who is situated in everyone's heart
- One should not cover himself with a blanket. (17) One should not talk enviously of others before the Deity. (18) One should not praise others before the Deity. (19) One should not use slang before the Deity
- One should not criticize a preacher of the glories of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. If one does so, he is an offender
- One should not criticize or blaspheme a devotee who is thus engaged in distributing the holy name of the Lord
- One should not degrade oneself by attraction to sense objects. The more one is attracted by sense objects, the more one becomes entangled in material existence. BG 1972 purports
- One should not deprecate the Supreme Lord for the creation of this miserable world, just as one should not blame the king for creating a prisonhouse in the government
- One should not deride the demigods before the Deity
- One should not desire any sort of material enjoyment, being sensible enough to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- One should not desire to be elevated even to a place in the heavenly planetary systems if it has no propaganda to expand the glories of the SP of Godhead, no trace of Vaisnavas, pure devotees of God, and no festivals for spreading Krsna consciousness
- One should not desire to do anything else, even to earn his livelihood. There are many, many examples of this attitude. Madhavendra Puri, for instance, would never go to anyone to ask for food
- One should not deviate from or surpass the instructions of the spiritual master. One should not be simply intent on consulting books but should simultaneously execute the spiritual master's order
- One should not disbelieve or think, "How by chanting the holy name of the Lord can one become a holy man to be compared to the most elevated brahmana
- One should not discriminate between the dhamas on the earth and those in the spiritual sky, thinking those on earth to be material and the original abodes to be spiritual. All of them are spiritual
- One should not discriminate on the basis of caste and creed on the Vaisnavas. This is forbidden by the scriptures. The Vaisnava does not belong to any particular caste also
- One should not do anything, either good or bad, on his own account, but must execute everything on behalf of the Supreme Lord, the ultimate proprietor of everything that be
- One should not eat anything which is not offered first to Krsna. 26) One should not fail to offer fresh fruit and grains to Krsna, according to the season
- One should not eat fish or other nonvegetarian food during the month of Karttika. A nonvegetarian diet means fish and meat. Similarly, masura dhal and urad dhal are also considered nonvegetarian
- One should not eat more than necessary, he should not collect more paraphernalia than necessary, he should not talk unnecessarily with common men, and he should not follow the rules and regulations without purpose
- One should not endeavor for ugra-karma, or unnecessary work for sense gratification. Nunam pramattah kurute vikarma yad indriya-pritaya aprnoti. Simply for sense gratification, people make plans for material happiness
- One should not endeavor to be promoted to the higher planetary systems, only to return to this earth or descend still lower to the hellish planets. To stop this cycle of going up and coming down, one must take to Krsna consciousness
- One should not endeavor to wander to different planetary systems within this universe, for even if one goes to the topmost planetary system, Brahmaloka, one must return again
- One should not engage himself in any sort of occupational service for material gain only. Nor should material gain be utilized for sense gratification
- One should not engage in the different processes of fruitive activity or cultivate knowledge by the mental speculative process. BG 1972 purports
- One should not engage paid brahmanas to worship the Deity. If one does not personally worship the Deity but engages paid servants instead, he is considered lazy, and his worship of the Deity is called artificial
- One should not enjoy his senses according to his lusty desires, but should restrict himself according to the regulative principles given in the Vedas
- One should not entangle oneself in matter by the mind's material affections. Thus one's own mind is one's friend or enemy in one's material happiness and distress

- One should not even see the face of a person who blasphemes Lord Visnu and His devotees. Never try to associate with such persons
- One should not even see those who are bereft of devotional service in Krsna consciousness and who are therefore devoid of pious activities
- One should not even think of women or look at them, to say nothing of talking with them. This is called first-class brahmacarya
- One should not expect the Lord to be an order-supplying agent who must be present before us as soon as we desire to see Him
- One should not expect the Lord to create like a blacksmith with a hammer and other instruments. The Lord creates by His potencies. He has His multifarious potencies
- One should not fail to hear such arguments (regarding Absolute Truth), for only by such knowledge can one perfectly know Krsna
- One should not fail to keep his promise to give in charity. These discrepancies are sometimes causes of despondency, and thus failing, a person becomes subjected to criticism, which might also be the cause of Arjuna's plight
- One should not fail to observe the various festivals for the pleasure of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, such as Janmastami and Ratha-yatra
- One should not fail to offer some praise in the presence of the spiritual master. 31) One should not praise himself before the spiritual master
- One should not fail to worship the Deity according to his means. In the Bhagavad-gita it is stated that the Lord is satisfied even if some devotee offers him a leaf or a little water
- One should not falsely claim to be equal to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because in the Vedas it is said: na tasya karyam karanam ca vidyate/na tat-samas cabhyadhikas ca drsyate. Nobody is equal to the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- One should not falsely pose himself as the Supreme Lord and thereby misguide people. One should test by consulting scriptures and by seeing the activities of the person in question

- One should not fast unnecessarily or against Vedic injunctions. BG 1972 purports
- One should not fear death. Rather, one should prepare oneself for the next birth. One should utilize one's time in this human form to end the process of birth and death
- One should not find faults with the sun, although it evaporates urine from the street. The most powerful cannot be criticized by an ordinary man, or even by a great personality
- One should not foolishly adopt any of the slogans concocted by imaginative devotees. If one actually wants to derive the effects of chanting, one must strictly follow the great acaryas
- One should not foolishly conclude that because the Supreme Personality of Godhead is omnipotent, we have manufactured a combination of letters - a, u and m - to represent Him
- One should not foolishly consider Caitanya Mahaprabhu to be an ordinary human being. He has accepted the ecstasy of a devotee, but He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- One should not foolishly consider the Puranas mythological. If they were mythological, Sukadeva Gosvami would not have taken the trouble to recite the old historical incidents concerning the life of Ajamila
- One should not foolishly interpret an Upanisadic description and say that because the Supreme Personality of Godhead "cannot" appear Himself in this material world in His own form, He sends His sound representation (omkara) instead
- One should not foolishly think that the individual infinitesimal soul is the cause of the gigantic manifestation of the universal form. The universal form is called the virat-rupa because the Supreme Lord is within it in His plenary portion
- One should not forget or be misled from the complete form of the Lord; thus one should practice thinking of the different parts of His transcendental body, one after another
- One should not futilely try to deliver himself in spiritual realization. Let everyone take shelter of the supreme omnipotent Godhead Krsna. That is the highest perfection of life. BG 1972 purports
- One should not give up anything which can be utilized in the service of the Lord. That is a secret of devotional service. Anything that can be utilized in advancing Krsna consciousness and devotional service should be accepted
- One should not give up his natural occupation because there are some disturbing elements. Rather, one should be determined to serve the Supreme Lord by his occupational duty in Krsna consciousness. That is the perfectional point. BG 1972 purports
- One should not give up pure devotional service. For one's own benefit, one should not imitate Hiranyakasipu or Sisupala. This is not the way to achieve success
- One should not give up the execution of devotional service because one or two attempts have not been successful. One must continue. Sri Rupa Gosvami also confirms one should be very enthusiastic and execute devotional service with patience and confidence
- One should not give up the process of austerity. If possible, one should bathe in the waters of the Ganges or Yamuna, or in the absence of the Ganges and Yamuna one may bathe in the water of the sea. This is an item of austerity
- One should not give up the process of devotional service, which is performed in nine different ways - sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam pada-sevanam, etc. - SB 7.5.23
- One should not give up the worship of Radha-Krsna to worship Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. By worshiping either Radha-Krsna or Lord Caitanya alone, one cannot become advanced
- One should not go to anyone's house, even on the consideration of his being a relative or a friend, when the man is disturbed in his mind and looks upon the guest with raised eyebrows and angry eyes
- One should not grudge being controlled by time despite being a true follower of religious principles
- One should not guess or speculate about an incarnation of God or the Personality of Godhead. One has to learn from the bona fide person or from the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself, as Arjuna did, by the mercy of Krsna
- One should not have any illicit sex life, but one should be combined according to religious rite and live peacefully and execute Krsna consciousness. This much austerity
- One should not have asked him (Bhismadeva) any question at that time, but Lord Sri Krsna wanted to prove that His pure devotees are always sound in body and mind by dint of spiritual enlightenment
- One should not hear anything about Krsna from a non-Vaisnava
- One should not hear anything about Krsna from a non-Vaisnava. Milk touched by the lips of a serpent has poisonous effects; similarly, talks about Krsna given by a non-Vaisnava are also poisonous
- One should not hear at least the Bhagavad-gita and the Srimad-Bhagavatam from those who are not devotees of the Lord, who have no realization of God and who are envious of Him. Their touch renders it poison
- One should not imagine so-called happiness through mental concoction. Rather, the best course is to engage the mind in the service of the Lord, Hrsikesa, and thus feel real blissful life
- One should not imagine that such an arrangement (of the cosmic manifestation) can exist without conscious direction. In our practical experience we never see that inert bricks can themselves construct a big building
- One should not imitate another's duty
- One should not imitate another's duty. A man who is by nature attracted to the kind of work done by sudras should not artificially claim himself to be a brahmana, although he may be born into a brahmana family. BG 1972 purports
- One should not imitate Haridasa Thakura, for no one else can chant the holy name 300,000 times a day. Such chanting is for the mukta-purusa, or liberated soul
- One should not imitate the activities of great personalities. One should be detached from material enjoyment and should accept everything in connection with Krsna's service
- One should not imitate the behavior of an advanced devotee or maha-bhagavata without being self-realized, for by such imitation one will eventually become degraded
- One should not imitate the best devotee
- One should not indulge in eating food in the modes of passion and ignorance. This is called ucitahara, or appropriate eating
- One should not indulge in sex outside of married life, for sex is sanctioned in the scripture only in marriage, not otherwise. This is called celibacy. These are penances and austerities as far as the body is concerned. BG 1972 purports

- One should not indulge in the unauthorized act of twisting the meaning and thereby putting himself on the dangerous path of offense
- One should not instruct a person who is not desirous of accepting devotional service
- One should not introduce any opposing scripture. 24) One should not chew betel before the Deity. 25) One should not offer a flower which was kept in an unclean pot. 26) One should not worship the Lord while sitting on the bare floor
- One should not invest any material contamination or impersonalism in the Visnu form. Everyone should try to understand the real identity of Lord Visnu, for by such knowledge one can attain the highest stage of perfection
- One should not kill bodies for one's sense gratification, for this will implicate one in sinful activity
- One should not knowingly take advantage of the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra to nullify sinful activities so that one may then begin sinful acts again. We should be very careful
- One should not lament over the artificial relationship of parenthood, which is ultimately controlled by the Supreme Lord
- One should not lie down before the Deity. (9) One should not eat before the Deity. (10) One should not speak lies before the Deity. (11) One should not speak very loudly before the Deity
- One should not live in Vrndavana and commit offenses, for a life of offenses in Vrndavana is no better than the lives of the monkeys and hogs there. Many monkeys and hogs live in Vrndavana, and they are concerned with their sexual desires
- One should not look for help from imperfect living beings or demigods, but one should look for all help from Lord Krsna, who is competent to save His devotees
- One should not make a livelihood by forming a professional band to carry out congregational chanting, nor should one perform devotional service when one is attached to mundane society, friendship and love
- One should not make distinctions between the pastimes of the Lord and the activities of Prthu Maharaja, and whenever it is possible a devotee should attempt to induce others to hear about Prthu Maharaja
- One should not make the mistake of considering Lord Siva and Lord Visnu to be on the same level. That is also an atheistic idea
- One should not make the mistake of thinking that dharma is a created faith. In its proper sense, dharma cannot be divorced from the living entity at all
- One should not make the mistake of thinking the world has no existence at all. I really possess my temporary material body and mind, and I must not make myself a laughing stock by denying the existence of my body and mind
- One should not manufacture a way of meditation on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but should follow the authorized sastras and personalities
- One should not meditate according to one's personal whims
- One should not mistake Lord Caitanya and His five diverse manifestations as ordinary human beings. Lord Caitanya is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna Himself
- One should not mistake the appearance of the Lord as a human being or a beast to be the same as the birth of an ordinary conditioned soul, who is forced to appear by the laws of nature, whether as an animal, as a human being or as a demigod
- One should not mistake the appearance of the Lord as a human being or a beast to be the same as the birth of an ordinary conditioned soul, who is forced to appear by the laws of nature. This kind of thinking is offensive
- One should not mistake the body of Krsna or Caitanya Mahaprabhu to be a material body like ours, for Krsna and Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared as needed for the benefit of the entire human society
- One should not mistakenly think that a bona fide spiritual master has to be born in a so-called brahmana family. The idea is that a spiritual master must be a qualified brahmana; that is, he must be qualified by his activities
- One should not mistakenly think that because the creation emanates from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, He has therefore transformed into this material cosmic manifestation
- One should not mistakenly think that Lord Krsna must be worshiped by an inimical attitude like that of Sisupala

- One should not mistakenly think that the Lord asked His younger brothers to leave Ayodhya because He especially favored the citizens. The Lord is merciful to everyone, and He knows how to show His favor to each individual person according to his capacity
- One should not mistakenly think that the material opulence of a devotee is the result of his devotional service
- One should not misunderstand by wrong interpretations that the Lord spoke only four verses and that therefore all the rest of the 17,996 verses (in Srimad-Bhagavatam) are useless
- One should not misunderstand that a devotee in transcendental devotional service can act in all kinds of abominable ways
- One should not misunderstand that a devotee in transcendental devotional service can act in all kinds of abominable ways; this verse (BG 9.30) only refers to an accident due to the strong power of material connections. BG 1972 purports
- One should not misunderstand that because everything is Krsna, Krsna has no personal identity. Krsna is so full that in spite of keeping Himself separate from everything by His energy, He is everything
- One should not misunderstand that the word visate, "enters into Me (Krsna)," supports the monist theory that one becomes homogeneous with the impersonal Brahman. No. BG 1972 purports
- One should not misunderstand the import of visate ("enters into") as referring to merging into the existence of the Supreme. Even in material existence, one is merged in the existence of the Lord
- One should not misunderstand the pastimes of Radha and Krsna to be the activities of a mundane young boy and girl. The mundane sexual activities of young boys and girls are most abominable

- One should not offer incense without offering some flower. 8) Useless flowers without any fragrance should not be offered. 9) One should not fail to wash his teeth very carefully every day
- One should not offer obeisances silently to the spiritual master; or in other words, one should recite aloud the prayers to the spiritual master while offering obeisances
- One should not offer obeisances to others before the Deity. (27) One should not sit near the Deity without taking the spiritual master’s permission
- One should not only read of his (Prthu Maharaja's) pastimes for one's own benefit but should induce others to read and hear about them also. In this way everyone can be benefited
- One should not only surrender to the spiritual master but also render loving service unto him (sevaya) so that the spiritual master will be pleased with the student and explain the transcendental subject matter more clearly
- One should not partially study a book just to pose oneself as a great scholar by being able to refer to scriptures
- One should not partially study many scriptures just to be able to give references and expand explanations

- One should not simply remain at home until the time of death, but should separate from family life at a timely moment and prepare himself to go back to Godhead
- One should not simply think Narayana is situated among the poor. He is everywhere. An advanced devotee will offer respects to everyone - even to cats and dogs

- One should not sleep more than six hours daily. Nor can one infected by insomnia, who cannot sleep at night, successfully execute yoga, for the body must be kept fit. Thus Krsna outlines so many requirements for disciplining the body
- One should not sleep more than six hours daily. One who sleeps more than six hours out of twenty-four is certainly influenced by the mode of ignorance. BG 1972 purports
- One should not speak an unpalatable truth to cause distress to others
- One should not speak in such a way as to agitate the minds of others. BG 1972 purports

- One should not state a predicate before its subject, for it cannot thus stand without proper support

- One should not think that he is freed from reaction because he has forgotten the actions of his past life. Reactions will take place, and what kind of reactions there will be is judged by the Supersoul, the witness
- One should not think that material nature or material energy is the cause of this cosmic manifestation. Rather, it is caused by the Supreme Lord, who uses His different expansions through material nature

- One should not try to establish the relation directly; there must be a via medium which is transparent and competent to lead us to the right path
- One should not try to exhibit one's insignificant opulence before a greater power
- One should not try to go upwards artificially without seeing for himself how much he has been released from the sex desire
- One should not try to imitate Haridasa Thakura at the beginning of one's transcendental life. One must first become very mature in devotion and thus receive the approval of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- One should not try to imitate Lord Siva. Lord Siva can do whatever he likes, but those who try to imitate Lord Siva by smoking ganja and other poisonous things will certainly be killed because of such activities
- One should not try to imitate Lord Siva; rather, one should strictly follow one's prescribed occupational duties. One should never vilify a great personality like Lord Siva

- One should not try to worship Krsna unfavorably; otherwise he must be punished, at least for one life, to be purified

- One should not use the body for any other purpose (than advancing in devotional service). One must know that if he uses the body for any other purpose he is simply wasting time, for as soon as the time is ripe, the soul will automatically leave the body
- One should not uselessly labor in mental speculation to estimate the Lord's qualities. There is no need of adopting the speculative method or exercising the body to attain mystic yoga perfection
- One should not view death with horror, nor have recourse to defining the body as soul, nor give way to exaggeration in enjoying the bodily necessities of life

- One should not wrongly conclude that the Lord was formerly unmanifested and has now manifested Himself in the human form
- One should not wrongly think that the body belongs to him. To maintain a false possession, why should one indulge in killing? Why should one kill innocent animals to maintain the body?
- One should not, however, mistakenly think that after the annihilation of the present body there is no body by which one can associate with God face to face. The living entity is unborn. It is not that he is manifest with the creation of the material body
- One should not, however, misunderstand nirvisesanam as being without any transcendental qualifications
- One should not, therefore, be angry in the absence of an opportunity for sense gratification, and one should not be lusty to acquire more than necessary

- One should therefore not take to the demoniac activity of claiming to be a Vaisnava just for false prestige, without performing service to the Lord
- One simply has to realize the greatness of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should not try to understand Him by any material means, subtle or gross
- One who does not follow all these rules and regulations (according to the Vedic principles) is called a yavana or mleccha. One should not mistakenly think that these words refer to certain classes of men in other countries
- Only such persons (persons who have lost their sense or intelligence) care for demigods and want to derive material benefit from them. Of course, this does not mean that one should not show respect to the demigods; but there is no need to worship them
- Only those who have become purified in their love for Krsna can participate in it. One therefore should not take this process of Krsna consciousness as something cheap, but as a matchless gift bestowed upon suffering humanity by the Lord Himself
- Ordinarily the body of a hog is considered impure, but one should not consider that the hog incarnation assumed by the Lord is also impure. That form of the Lord is the personified Vedas and is transcendental
- Other rules are that one should not offer foodstuff which is cooked by a non-Vaisnava. One should not worship the Deity before a nondevotee. One should not engage himself in the worship of the Lord while seeing a nondevotee
P

- Pita na sa syaj janani na sa syat... na mocayed yah samupeta-mrtyum: one should not become a father or a mother unless one is able to save his children from the impending clutches of death. That is the duty of the father and mother. How can this be done
R
- Radha & Krsna are one. This oneness may be perceived by advanced devotees through the grace of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. This was the case with Ramananda Raya. One may aspire to attain such a position, but one should not try to imitate the maha-bhagavata
- Remembrance and prayers also can give us the desired result if they are properly done under expert guidance. One should not concoct forms of devotional service

- Rupa Gosvami's instructions, One should not be under the spell of lamentation in loss or tribulation in gain. 7) One should not disrespect the demigods. 8) One should not give unnecessary trouble to any living entity
S
- Sanatana Gosvami has written in his Hari-bhakti-vilasa: One should not hear anything about Krsna from a non-Vaisnava. Milk touched by the lips of a serpent has poisonous effects; similarly, talks about Krsna given by a non-Vaisnava are also poisonous
- Sanatana Gosvami, has especially warned that one should not hear anything about the personality of the Lord from the lips of a nondevotee

- Silent does not mean that one should not speak; silent means that one should not speak nonsense. BG 1972 purports
- Simplicity is all right, but one should not be unintelligent
- Since Brahma had promised, he wanted to grant all the benedictions asked (by Hiranyakasipu). The word durlabhan indicates that one should not take benedictions one cannot enjoy peacefully
- Since everyone's body is the residence of the Supreme Lord, one should not destroy the body because of unnecessary envy. That will dissatisfy the Supersoul
- Since the appearance and disappearance of the Lord and His eternal associates are transcendental, one should not be bewildered by the external features of appearance and disappearance
- Since the holy name and the Lord are of one and the same identity, one should not try to bring the holy name into the service of mankind
- Since the Supreme Lord, Visnu, is situated in the core of everyone's heart, every body is a temple of Visnu. One should not misuse this understanding as an excuse for such words as daridra-narayana

- So one should not lament for the lump of matter. One should be serious to understand what is that ever-existing eternal thing, soul. That is education
- So this Krsna consciousness means training people for becoming fit to enter into that eternal life, blissful life. That training is meant for human being, not for animals. So you should not misuse this human form of life
- Some of them (the living creatures) come from embryos, some from eggs and some from the fermentation of perspiration. Different living creatures have different sources of appearance, but one should not conclude that matter produces such living creatures
- Sometimes a prospective father, being impelled by the potency of the Supreme Lord, can beget a child, but sometimes conception does not take place. Therefore one should not lament over the artificial relationship of parenthood

- Survival does not mean that one should die; survival means that one should not die, but should enjoy an everlastingly blissful life of knowledge. This is survival. The Krsna consciousness movement is meant to make every person fit for survival
- Svarupa Damodara Gosvami advises that one should not hear Srimad-Bhagavatam from professional reciters. Instead, one must hear and learn the Bhagavatam from a self-realized Vaisnava

- The above-mentioned verse (of CC Antya 8.79) from Srimad-Bhagavatam gives two injunctions. The first, called purva-vidhi, is that one should not praise, and the second, para-vidhi, is that one should not criticize

- The atheistic propaganda that one should not go to a church, temple, or mosque is very dangerous to human society
- The benedictions offered by the demigods cannot compare to even one ten-thousandth of the Lord's benedictions. One should not, therefore, try to obtain benedictions from the demigods or false gurus

- The guru should not be approached for material benefits. One should not approach a guru just to cure some disease or receive some miraculous benefit. This is not the way to approach the guru
