The concept of taking care of Kṛṣṇa's property and devotees represents a foundational element of practical spiritual life. Because everything in existence belongs to the Supreme Lord, handling His energy with respect, diligence, and love constitutes true spiritual advancement. The disciples are taught that neglect is a symptom of māyā, whereas careful attention to one's assigned duties is a symptom of awakened bhakti.

Maintaining the Deities: The worship of the arca-vigraha requires the utmost cleanliness, punctuality, and devotion, setting the standard for how all other temple affairs should be managed.
Protecting the Devotees: Every new person who comes to the movement is considered a guest of the Lord, and it is the duty of the older members to carefully train, encourage, and protect them from material influence.
Raising the Next Generation: Parents in the gṛhastha āśrama are entrusted with the immense responsibility of raising children with proper health, education, and spiritual guidance so they do not fall back into the cycle of saṃsāra.
Honoring the Material Body: While the body is temporary, it is recognized as a vital machine for executing devotional service, meaning it must be fed, rested, and cared for properly without falling into sensual indulgence.
