Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the innate, constitutional propensity of every living entity is the desire to love God. In the material world, this natural loving propensity is misdirected by maya, causing the conditioned soul to seek love in temporary, mundane relationships. However, if one sincerely wants to love Kṛṣṇa, absolutely nothing in the material world can impede that pursuit. Pure devotional service is ahaituki and apratihata—unmotivated and uninterrupted by any material circumstance.
