Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that writing about God is not a mundane academic exercise or an outlet for creative whimsy, but a profound devotional practice requiring divine authorization. A genuine writer of transcendental literature must be a humble, pure servant of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the Vaiṣṇavas. When a qualified devotee writes about the Supreme Lord, their words are actually dictated from within by the Lord Himself. Writing should never be done for money, reputation, or out of a material desire to become a famous author; rather, it is performed to purify one's own heart and to enlighten the general populace.
