The philosophical essence of this category establishes a fundamental epistemological principle in Vedic philosophy: the Absolute Truth can only be perfectly understood when it is explained by the Absolute Truth Himself. Human beings possess limited, blunt senses and are prone to making mistakes; therefore, ascending mental speculation regarding the nature of God is entirely useless. To rescue the conditioned souls from the darkness of ignorance, the Supreme Personality of Godhead personally descends to explain the science of self-realization. He comes as Lord Kṛṣṇa to speak the Bhagavad-gītā, explaining the intricacies of action and inaction to His pure devotee Arjuna. He descends as Lord Kapiladeva to explain the sublime, analytical process of Sāṅkhya-yoga to His mother, Devahūti. Because God is unlimited, only God can explain what God is. Consequently, any path of liberation or religious system that is directly explained and accepted by the Lord must be considered all-perfect. The deep, confidential mysteries of spiritual life can only be fully realized when one hears the Lord's explanations submissively through the authorized disciplic succession (paramparā) and applies them through the process of bhakti-yoga.
- The Folly of Speculation: Human speculative power is severely limited. Attempting to understand the unlimited Supreme Lord through mundane brainpower is a waste of time. True knowledge only begins when we hear the Lord's own explanation.
