Category:God's Living
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the absolute omnipresence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva, which literally means "He who lives everywhere." The Vedic literatures completely defeat the idea that God is a dead energy or a distant myth. God is a living person, and He lives in specific, localized ways to interact with His creation and His devotees. Eternally, He lives in the supreme spiritual planets of Vaikuṇṭha and Goloka Vṛndāvana. Simultaneously, as the Paramātmā (Supersoul), He lives intimately within the heart of every single living entity, acting as the supreme witness and controller. Although He is physically everywhere, the Lord is most powerfully present wherever His pure devotees are constantly chanting and glorifying Him; to the pure devotee, any place can become Vṛndāvana. Furthermore, when the Lord incarnates on earth, He demonstrates ideal ways of living for humanity. Whether living as an ordinary householder like Lord Ṛṣabhadeva, accepting banishment to the forest like Lord Rāmacandra, or enjoying childhood pastimes in Vrajabhūmi like Lord Kṛṣṇa, His living is always a transcendental exhibition of perfect duty and absolute love.
- The Meaning of Vāsudeva: The very name Vāsudeva indicates the Lord's omnipresence. The root vas means "to live," signifying that God lives within every being, and every being lives within Him.
- Living in the Heart: As the Paramātmā (Supersoul), the Supreme Lord is not far away; He lives directly within the core of everyone's heart. Because He lives there, He is fully conscious of all our psychic movements, past actions, and deepest desires.
- Living in the Spiritual Sky: Beyond the material universes, the Lord eternally lives in His supreme personal abodes, Goloka Vṛndāvana and the Vaikuṇṭha planets, full of transcendental knowledge and bliss.
- Living Where the Devotees Chant: The Lord famously declares that He does not primarily live in Vaikuṇṭha or in the hearts of yogīs; He lives wherever His pure devotees are engaged in the blissful chanting of His holy names.
- Pastimes of Living on Earth: When the Lord descends, He shows how to live perfectly. Lord Rāmacandra lived in the Daṇḍakāraṇya forest to honor His father's word, and Lord Ṛṣabhadeva lived strictly according to Vedic principles to set an example for householders.
