Category:God Lives
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the exact locations where the Supreme Personality of Godhead lives. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that unlike impersonalists who have a vague idea of the Absolute Truth, devotees possess precise knowledge of where God lives, what His name is, and what He does. The Vedic literatures confirm that the Lord lives eternally in His supreme spiritual abode, Goloka Vṛndāvana or Vaikuṇṭha, in His original personal form. However, by His inconceivable omnipotence, He simultaneously lives within the material universes as the all-pervading Paramātmā (Supersoul). In this feature, He lives within the core of every living entity's heart as a witnessing friend. Although He agrees to live everywhere—even in the bodies of animals or the homes of the poorest individuals—the Lord is never contaminated by these material conditions. Ultimately, the Lord declares that He specifically lives wherever His pure devotees assemble to continuously chant and glorify His holy names.
- The Supreme Destination: The Supreme Lord has a specific address; He lives in His eternal spiritual abode in the spiritual sky, known as Vaikuṇṭhaloka or Goloka Vṛndāvana.
- The All-Pervading Supersoul: By His inconceivable potency, the Lord simultaneously expands to live in the heart of every single living entity as the Paramātmā, serving as their constant companion.
- Eternally Uncontaminated: Although the Lord lives everywhere, even in filthy places or impoverished homes, He remains the supreme controller and is never affected by material contamination or dualities.
- Living Among the Devotees: The Supreme Lord takes special pleasure in living exactly where His unalloyed devotees are engaged in glorifying and chanting about His transcendental pastimes.
