- Here (in BG 8.28) Krsna says that the purpose of all Vedic instructions is to achieve the ultimate goal of life - to go BT Godhead. All scriptures from all countries aim at this goal. This has also been the message of all religious reformers or acaryas
- However, according to the statements of Srila Rupa Gosvami in this verse, an American gosvami and a gosvami in a family of acaryas are nondifferent

- If one earns his livelihood by displaying the Deity in the temple, he is not an acarya or gosvami. It would be better for him to accept service even as a sweeper in the street, for that is a more honorable means of earning one’s living
- If one gives aural reception to the sound vibrated by great devotees and acaryas, that alone will give him relief from all material contamination
- If one poses himself as an acarya but does not have an attitude of servitorship to the Lord, he must be considered an offender, and this offensive attitude disqualifies him from being an acarya
- If somebody comes forward to offer some service, the same reluctant acaryas will encourage the building of costly temples by such servitors

- If the acarya, guru, is satisfied, then we must know certainly that Krsna is satisfied. So this is the principle, and the acaryas give us direction. It is not very difficult. Simply we have to become very serious and sincere. Then everything is all right

- In Bhagavad-gita, Thirteenth Chapter, it is clearly stated that one should execute devotional service and advance on the path of spiritual knowledge by accepting the acarya
- In order to mitigate this troublesome position (to meditate on impersonal feature), some of their acaryas, Sankaracarya, has said that "You imagine a form. There is no real form, but you imagine some form"
- In other words, a devotee does not much care whether or not he is liberated; he is eager only for devotional service. Devotional service means that one does not do anything independently of the sanction of the acaryas
- In our country (India) there are big, five acaryas who is practically controlling the Hindu society or the Vedic society: Sankaracarya, Ramanujacarya, Madhvacarya, Nimbarka, Visnu Svami. So we have to follow the footprints, the footsteps of the acaryas

- Know the acarya as Myself
- Krsna consciousness movement means we are trying to serve the acaryas. Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His direct disciples, the Sad-gosvamis, and their disciples. Rupa-raghunatha-pade haibe akuti. That is required
- Krsna is explaining Himself in the Bhagavad-gita, Krsna is sending His representative acarya to teach you, and Krsna is within yourself trying to teach you if you are actually serious. Then where is the difficulty?
- Krsna is para-tattva, accepted by all acaryas. We are not talking of the fools and rascals who are theorizing without any knowledge. We are concerned with the authorities
- Krsna is the Supreme Person, all acaryas agree. Where is the difference? Does Ramanujacarya differ from Madhvacarya, or Madhvacarya differs from Sri Caitanya, Caitanya differs from - no. There is no difference. That is Vaisnava
- Krsna said to Uddhava, "If one sticks to devotional service and is conducted by regulative principles given by the authorities and acaryas, that is the best qualification"
- Krsna says, "One should know the acarya as Myself and never disrespect him in any way. One should not envy him, thinking him an ordinary man, for he is the representative of all the demigods"
- Krsna, when He was present personally, He played on His flute. The gopis saw and the cowherds boys saw five thousand years ago. And the acaryas took information. Even if you don't believe in the history, then come to sastra

- Let us offer our respectful obeisances to all the great devotees and acaryas (holy teachers), who are compared with sharks in the great ocean of nectar and who do not care for the various rivers of liberation

- Method of one acarya may be different from that of another
- Modern psychologists can study the actions of the mind - thinking, feeling and willing - but they are unable to go deep into the matter. This is due to their lack of knowledge and to their not being associated with a liberated acarya
- Most important process is hearing from the guru, sadhu and sastra-the spiritual master, the saintly acaryas and the Vedic literature
- My Guru Maharaja never asked anybody to become acarya

- Narada is the second acarya
- Narada Muni, Haridasa Thakura and similar acaryas especially empowered to broadcast the glories of the Lord cannot be brought down to the material platform. Therefore one is strictly forbidden to think that the acarya is an ordinary human being
- Narottama dasa Thakura, a great devotee and acarya in the Gaudiya Vaisnava-sampradaya, says that all spiritual activities should be understood from three sources, namely saintly persons, standard scriptures and the spiritual master
- Narottama dasa Thakura, a great devotee and acarya of the Gaudiya Vaisnava sect, has sung: "My Lord, I have simply wasted my life. Having obtained the human body, I have neglected to worship Your Lordship, and therefore I have willingly drunk poison
- Narottama Dasa Thakura, who has sung this hari hari biphale janama gonainu, he's a famous acarya. His compositions are accepted as Vedic truth
- Never become disobedient to acarya
- Niyamena: one should offer the greatest respect to the acaryas according to the standard regulations. A devotee should also be compassionate to the poor. This does not refer to those who are poverty-stricken materially
- No difference between the acaryas
- No learned man should be willing to hear a person who does not represent the original acarya
- No saintly acarya will manufacture his way
- Nobody is accustomed in that way (live underneath a tree), such severe type of austerity. They must be given, as far as possible, comfortable accommodation; otherwise they will not come. This is the adjustment. The acarya knows how to adjust things
- None of them were advised by Guru Maharaja to become acarya. His idea was "Let them manage; then whoever will be actual qualified for becoming acarya, they will elect. Why I should enforce upon them?" That was his plan
- None of these acaryas has disbelieved in the sastras
- Not only should he (an acarya) describe the bhagavata cult personally, but he should also train his disciples to speak on this sublime subject
- Now I have taken your husband (Pradyumna dasa) with me, and he shall always remain with me from now on to learn perfectly sanskrit language exactly as it is understood by our line of acaryas from Krishna Himself
- Now the acharya is meant for handling business?
O
- O most auspicious lady, one should perform all the ceremonies under the direction of learned acaryas and should satisfy them and their priests. By distributing prasada, one should also satisfy the brahmanas and others who have assembled
- On the basis of all the Upanisads, Srila Jiva Gosvami says that omkara is the Supreme Absolute Truth and is accepted as such by all the acaryas and authorities
- One can attain perfection simply by explaining the instructions, following in the footsteps of the acaryas or listening to the instructions with great attention. If one does so, one can attain the platform of pure devotional service to Lord Vasudeva
- One can know the glories of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu only by reaching, in knowledge, a conclusive decision about Sri Krsna, strengthened by bona fide study of the conclusions of the acaryas
- One cannot become an acarya simply by mental speculation
- One has to follow the rules and regulations prescribed by the acaryas, and thus, under superior guidance, Krsna-realization is fully possible, even in this material existence

- One must judge every action by its result. The members of the self-appointed acarya's party who occupied the property of the Gaudiya Matha are satisfied, but they could make no progress in preaching
- One of the acaryas, known as Narahari Tirtha, who was in the disciplic succession of Madhvacarya, received these Deities (of Sita-Rama which were in the palace of last king of the Pandavas, Ksemakanta) from the King of Orissa
- One should accept the supremacy of Lord Krsna, as supported by Vyasa, Devala, Asita, Narada and later by the acaryas Ramanujacarya, Madhvacarya, Nimbarka and Visnu Svami and still later by the greatest acarya, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- One should have the common sense to ask why, if Krsna or Rama were fictitious, stalwart scholars like Sanatana Gosvami, Viraraghava and many other recognized acaryas would have spent so much time to write about Krsna in notes and commentaries on SB
- One should hear from authentic sources how to advance in spiritual life; such instructions should be taken from the acarya and should be assimilated
- One should never think the acarya an ordinary person. Familiarity sometimes breeds contempt, but one should be very careful in one's dealings with the acarya
- One should not try to supersede the instructions of the Six Gosvamis, for they are acaryas and very dear to Lord Caitanya
- One should receive religion through the acaryas. Not whimsically, anyone and everyone. "Anyone can become an avatara; anyone can become God" - this is all rascaldom
- One should satisfy the spiritual master (acarya), who is very learned in Vedic literature, and should satisfy his assistant priests (known as hota, udgata, adhvaryu and brahma)
- One who acts as an acarya, directly presenting Lord Krsna by spreading His name and fame, is also to be called paramahamsa-thakura
- One who follows the path of the acaryas knows things as they are. Such a person can know Krsna as He is, at least to some extent

- One's aim of life should be to serve the acaryas. Acarya upasanam. So our acarya in the Gaudiya Vaisnava Sampradaya, the sri-rupa sanatana bhatta-raghunatha, sri-jiva gopala-bhatta dasa-raghunatha, the six Gosvamis
- One’s devotional attitude increases in the association of a Vaisnava. By his personal example, Narottama dasa Thakura stresses that a devotee must always remember to please his predecessor acarya
- Only out of His immense compassion does the Personality of Godhead reveal Himself as the spiritual master. Therefore in the dealings of an acarya there are no activities but those of transcendental loving service to the Lord

- Ordinary man cannot transgress the laws, but Krsna and His representative, acarya, might be sometimes seen that he has transgressed
- Our acaryas, sad-gosvami, they left their service, big service, ministership, and by the order of Caitanya Mahaprabhu they went to Vrndavana. But what for? Going to Vrndavana and sleeping and eating? No, no, not for that purpose
- Our acharya Bhaktivinode Thakura was the perfect householder and we should take his example. How nice a householder he was and how nice children he produced; one of them is my Guru Maharaja. That is the example
- Our authorities, the whole Vedic civilization is going on under the authorities of acarya. They are coming by disciplic succession: Sankaracarya, Ramanujacarya, Madhvacarya, Visnu Svami, Lord Caitanya - there are so many authorized acaryas
- Our business is to satisfy the acaryas and Krsna. If they are pleased then we know our work is successful
- Our duty is tandera carana sevi, bhakta-sane vas. We should live with the devotees and be engaged in the service of the acaryas
- Our process is to take from the acaryas. We are not manufacturing. We are not so fools and rascals that we have to manufacture. We have to take the remnants of foodstuff given by the acarya and explain in the modern way

- Para-upakara. Our India is not meant for exploiting others. Doing good to others, that is India's mission. Our teachers, our acaryas, do not teach us, "Go and exploit others and bring money" - British Empire. This is not India

- Sadananda Yogindra, one of the greatest Mayavadiacaryas, has written in his book Vedanta-sara: "The Absolute Truth of eternity, knowledge and bliss is Brahman. Ignorance and all products of ignorance are non-Brahman

- Sanatana Gosvami is acarya, direct disciple of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is taking shelter. He has already taken; therefore he said, krpa kari' yadi more kariyacha uddhara. He's already, he knows

- Sankhya means the stalk of knowledge, and Vedanta is the final stalk of knowledge accepted by all leading acaryas. Even Sankara accepts Vedanta-sutra as such. Therefore such authority should be consulted. BG 1972 purports
- Sastra means the opinion of the great authorities, just like Vyasadeva, Parasara Muni, Narada Muni, modern acaryas. We do not neglect. We may differ from the philosophical point of view - just like Buddha, Sankaracarya

- Self effulgent acarya would be automatically selected

- Simple thing. Big, big acaryas, they accepted Krsna as He is. And why shall I not accept? This is parampara system. If others have accepted Krsna as He tells, and they have become big, big acaryas, so what objection can be there from my part? What I am?
- Simply by sitting (in the lecture on transcendental knowledge given by authorized acaryas), one can learn; then one can eat the remnants of the food offered to God, nice palatable dishes. In every state devotional service is joyful. BG 1972 purports
- Since boys and girls in the Western countries freely intermingle, special concessions regarding their customs and habits are necessary to bring them to Krsna consciousness. The acarya must devise a means to bring them to devotional service
- Since he (the true acarya) is understood to be the most advanced devotee, he is called paramahamsa-thakura. Thakura is a title of honor offered to the paramahamsa

- So far the Bhagavad-gita is concerned every one, let him be a very great scholar in the mundane sense, must be in confirmed position along with the mode of understanding of Shri Arjuna. That is the crucial point of testing an Acarya false or real

- They must be all ideal acarya-like. In the beginning we have done for working. Now we should be very cautious. Anyone who is deviating, he can be replaced
