Category:Authorized Acaryas
Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that the entire Vedic civilization is directed by authorized acaryas who appear in a perfect disciplic succession. He emphasizes that great personalities such as Sankaracarya, Ramanujacarya, Madhvacarya, and Lord Caitanya all unanimously agree that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Śrīla Prabhupāda clarifies that no one can claim to be a bona fide acarya unless they strictly follow the footprints of previous authorized teachers. He warns that neglecting the orders of these authorized acaryas is a serious offense against the holy name and leads to spiritual disorder. Furthermore, he teaches that even a person who considers themselves a fool can become all right simply by following the instructions and realized science of these experts. Ultimately, by taking shelter of an authorized acarya, attending their philosophical lectures, and worshiping the arca-vigraha forms they install, the common man can understand the Absolute Truth and experience the joy of devotional service.
- The Unanimous Conclusion: All authorized acaryas throughout history agree on the supremacy of Krsna, leaving no reason for a sane person to doubt His divinity.
- Succession and Blessing: An acarya is authorized by higher authorities; without the blessing of the spiritual master, theoretical instructions cannot become fully manifest in a student.
- The Proof of Divinity: When challenging the status of the Lord, the statements of authorized acaryas who truly understand the science of God serve as the ultimate proof.
- Avoiding Disorder: The acarya establishes the principles of worship and devotion, but his disappearance often leads to a resurgence of disorder unless his footprints are strictly followed.
- Acaryavan Puruso Veda: One can only fully understand the truth by taking shelter of an expert acarya, as independent speculation is insufficient for transcendental realization.
