The philosophical essence of this category is dedicated to systematically refuting the numerous mundane misconceptions that conditioned souls hold regarding the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Śrīla Prabhupāda clearly defines what God is not. He is not forced to accept a material body by the laws of karma, nor is He ever influenced by the modes of material nature (guṇas) or the limiting factor of time (kāla). Unlike ordinary beings, God is not dependent on anyone, nor is He an impersonal void; He is the supreme conscious person. Furthermore, the Lord is not meant to be our order supplier or a servant to fulfill material desires. He is not perceivable by blunt material senses, nor can He be manufactured by mystic yoga or mental speculation. By understanding what God is not, a sincere seeker can properly approach the Absolute Truth through pure, unalloyed devotional service.
- Not Forced by Material Laws: The Supreme Lord never accepts a body due to karmic reactions. He appears by His own internal potency (ātma-māyā) and is never influenced by time or the three modes of material nature.
- Not an Impersonal Void: God is not an empty, formless energy. He is the original Supreme Person, full of transcendental variegatedness, and His absolute nature is not devoid of spiritual variety.
- Not Our Order Supplier: The Lord is the supreme master, not a servant obliged to fulfill our petty material motives. Pure devotion means serving Him without expecting material possessions in return.
- Not Materially Perceivable: God is not visible to our present blunt material senses, nor can He be understood through mundane mental speculation or direct material perception (pratyakṣa).
- Not Manufactured by Mysticism: No one can "become" God through meditation or mystic yoga. God is eternally God, and He is not a petty being whose supreme status can be acquired or lost.
- Not in the Creation: Although everything rests on the Lord's energy, He is not personally entangled in the material cosmos. He is the creator, yet He remains completely aloof and transcendental to His creation.

- A conditioned soul is enwrapped in his fruitive activities by the force of eternal time. But the Supreme Lord, when He incarnates on the earth, is not influenced by kala, or the material conception of past, present and future

- The Lord is always the master of the material energy; therefore He is not doomed to be covered by the material energy like an ordinary living entity
- The Lord is not approachable by everyone because He is curtained by His yogamaya potency

- The Lord is not directly attached to the creation, maintenance and destruction of the material world, for He is eternally busy in the enjoyment of transcendental bliss with paraphernalia composed of His internal potencies
- The Lord is not hungry or poor, in need of our offering. Actually, it is to our advantage to offer Him something to eat. If the Supreme Lord kindly accepts our offering, then we are benefited
- The Lord is not only the creator and destroyer of the material manifestations of His different energies. He is more than a simple creator and destroyer, for there is His feature of ananda, or His pleasure feature
- The Lord is not the plaything of such fools - who take Him to be either a superhuman being born with a material body or a historical personality worshiped as God under the influence of anthropomorphism
- The Lord is not under the limitations of time
- The Lord is saguna by His own internal potency, but at the same time He is nirguna, since He is not in touch with the material energy

- The Supreme Personality of Godhead says: "I am not in Vaikuntha nor in the hearts of the yogis. I remain where My devotees engage in glorifying My activities." It is to be understood that the SP of Godhead does not leave the company of His devotees
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu, resides within the material world as the sattva-guna-avatara. Lord Siva is the tamo-guna-avatara, and Lord Brahma is the rajo-guna-avatara, but although Lord Visnu is among them, He is not in the same category
- The visva-rupa, as it was shown to Arjuna, is not the original form of the Lord. The original form of the Lord is the transcendental form of Purusottama, or Krsna Himself. It is very nicely explained that He expands Himself just like the sun
- The words santaya kuta-sthaya sva-rocise are very significant. Although the Lord is within this material world, He is not disturbed by the waves of material existence
- Then as Sankarsana, He (God) annihilates the cosmic manifestation. Yet despite the creation, maintenance and destruction of the cosmos, the Lord is not affected
- There is no difference between the Lord and sound vibration coming from Him, even though He is not personally present
- These are very old questions. These are not very intelligent questions. God is not creating. God is giving you chance. The conditioned souls who are not with Krsna, they wanted to enjoy this material world. Therefore God is giving them chance
- This is described in Bhagavad-gita (God is everything but has His own separate existence): "I am spread all over the universe in My impersonal form. Everything is resting on Me, but I am not present."
- This is the system of receiving instructions from the Supersoul. Externally He is not to be seen, but internally He speaks to the devotee. That is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita
- This same understanding (of SB 10.3.15-17) is explained by the Lord Himself in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.4): By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them
- This whole material world is impersonal, but because we have taken a certain portion of it and make my body, it looks like person. And God is not like that. He is spiritual person. He has nothing to do with material
- Those who are learned and spiritually advanced will never accept such notions (that Ramacandra is not God); they will accept the descriptions of Lord Ramacandra and His activities only as presented by tattva-darsis, those who know the Absolute Truth
- To mitigate His (God's) devotees' material pangs, He descends as He is, yet He is not infected by material qualities

- Ultimate source of all interdependence is the Supreme Truth or Paramatma, the Supersoul, who is not dependent on anything else. He is svasrayasrayah. He is only dependent on His self, and thus He is the supreme shelter of everything
- Understanding God means first of all understanding His name. Therefore from the beginning we should chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. God is not different from His name. Krsna's name and Krsna's person are the same
- Unlike ordinary living entities, the Supreme Lord is not forced by the modes of material nature to appear. He appears dharman darsayitu-kama - to show how to execute the functions of a human being

- We are conditioned souls, but He (Supreme Lord) is not affected, although the material nature has emanated from Him
- We must always remember that the Lord is the Supreme Will, and He is not bound by any law
- What is the difference between temple, church, and ordinary house? Temple means where there is God. Or church, where there is God. God means where there is God's name. So wherever the chanting is there, that is temple
- When the Lord appears, He is not forced by the dictation of material nature; He appears as He likes by His own internal potency. That is the difference
- When the Lord comes, He does so on the basis of His spiritual potency (sambhavamy atma-mayaya (BG 4.6)). Because He is not forced to come by the material energy, He is always transcendental
- When there is a need to diminish a burden created by the demons, the Supreme Godhead can do it in many ways because He has multifarious energies
- When we worship the Deity of the Lord in the temple, the Deity appears to be stone or wood. Now, because the Supreme Lord does not have a material body, He is not stone or wood, yet stone and wood are not different from Him
- Why you are fallen into this material world as very, very small, insignificant? God is not insignificant. That is demonic idea. Therefore their vision is not very correct
- With the present blunt senses we cannot see Bhagavan. Therefore Bhagavan, out of His causeless mercy, has appeared in a form which you can see. Not that He's different. He's not different. Because Bhagavan is everything

- You cannot jump over Krsna, neglecting guru. Then it is finished. If you want to jump over Krsna without favor of the guru. . . Krsna is not so easy. So these things should be very carefully observed. No offense. Sincerely follow
- You cannot speculate, "Krsna may be like this." Just like Mayavadis, they imagine. The imagination will not help you. You cannot imagine God. That is foolishness. God is not subjected to your imagination. Then He is not God
