Category:God Is Not Subjected To
Theme Analysis
The philosophical essence of this category establishes the absolute independence and supremacy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is never subjected to the conditions, laws, or limitations of the material world. Śrīla Prabhupāda explains that although the Lord creates the material energy, He is never controlled by it; it is contradictory to think the master is subjected to His own inferior energy. Consequently, God is not subject to the threefold miseries, the modes of nature, or the stringent laws of birth, old age, disease, and death (karma). Furthermore, the Lord is never subjected to the four defects of conditioned souls, nor does He ever fall into illusion (māyā). Finally, because the Lord is completely transcendental, He cannot be subjected to the minute mental speculation or limited imagination of mundane philosophers.
- Not Subject to Material Laws: The Supreme Lord is the creator and master of the material energy. Therefore, He is completely beyond the modes of material nature and is never subjected to the threefold miseries of the material world.
- Not Subject to Birth and Death: Unlike the conditioned living entities who are forced to take birth and accept karmic reactions, the Lord's appearance is transcendental. He is never subjected to the laws of birth, death, or mundane curses.
- Not Subject to Illusion or Defect: Conditioned souls are subject to four deficiencies (committing mistakes, being illusioned, having a cheating propensity, and possessing imperfect senses). The Supreme Lord, being perfect and self-illuminated, is never subjected to illusion or time.
- Not Subject to Mental Speculation: The Absolute Truth is completely beyond the reach of empiric philosophical arguments. God cannot be subjected to the limited imagination or direct sensory experience of conditioned souls.
